GI_Jack Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hi I would like to present my Mercedes Arocs Autotransporter. I built it for a competition on LUGPol (polish AFOL forum). The idea was to build a truck based on 42043 set. It has been my first model built for a competition, so there was a lot to learn. I was inspired by a small truck that I found in my children's toys. There were a couple of weeks to build it and the design changed quite a few times. I was planning a car transporter for 5 cars with lowering upper deck. At first it was going to have a single axle at the back with double wheels, but later on it got extended. I experimented with raising 3rd axle, but due to lower decking being as low as possible, the limited movement I would get with the wheels, I decided to leave it. At the early stages I was planning all yellow cabin. Yellow bricks being so popular I thought I would easily find all the pieces. How wrong was I. I could not believe panels 21 and 22 just do not exist in yellow. That's why I went for yellow-red cabin. I am not a very experienced builder so technically it is not very sophisticated. I just wanted it to work, although I know lots of the mechanisms can be improved. I would like to thank my son for helping me with pictures and videos. length 62cm 78 studs width 16 cm 20 studs height 25cm 32 studs 2 x IR 1x Bbox Drive PF XL Steering Servo Upper deck rear part pneumatic cylinder with a switch and a manual pump Front deck supports PF L Opening doors, tilted cabin http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=559432 Thanks. I hope you enjoy it!

Zerobricks Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 You guys sure have an awesome competition! Your transporter reminds me of a beefed up version of the 8109 flatbed truck. Awesome use of the new sliding pieces too!
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Nice build and indeed great use of parts...
