I expanded mine about 50% larger: added a larger indoor seating area for the cafe, extend the outdoor benches bit to add more mini figs traveling. Would have pervered the bus sold separately with more pieces of the set going into a larger station, I didn't get the station originally and then got most of it in a bulk buy and came to like it. I spent quite a lot on Bricklink (relatively) adding in the missing pieces. My kids love the bus for quite a lot of additional play value, and I like the colour that it brings to the set. I see what you mean about wanting a larger station, but I personally see this as a small village train station which feels familiar to me and any larger would make it out of proportion with the rest of the village. Also looking forward to the new set to see if it brings something new. A different style of station to go with the train would be terrific. Purely because I have the original, I think a north pole style one would be good to connect the two, but that may be too many in a row. Quote

I bought a second WV trainstation and build it up as a mirror version and thus making my station twice as big. I only needed to replace two small pieces because they were they wrong way now. Quote
Lion King Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Is it confirmed that a station will go with a new train set? Quote

So, by comparing it to the newest Harry Potter Set, which also retails for 130.00, but has 100 pieces less, and also has a station, they could pull it off. The reason they cost the same is because the HP set has to give JK her money.for better or worse, but the WV has no license, but comes with a full track. My hope is that the train that comes with the WV set will have bigger engine that the last WV, I don't think it will come with a motor, and I am fine with that, because for some families this will just be a push toy train. I am hoping for a train that is a bit more robust then the HP train, my preference would be 2 passenger cars behind a steam engine, with a holiday decorated train platform, not a station. Hoping we find out within the next 2 weeks. Edited August 29 by Celtchief Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) Thanks for the news! On 8/9/2025 at 4:22 PM, Paul van Nuil said: So disappointed, so many ideas by the community and all they can come up with is yet another train These are exactly my thoughts, too. I understand that WV fans who don't own the older sets, should get the chance to buy some similar sets for a reliable price these days (plus Lego catches with this new WV fans). But nevertheless those who had been collecting some WV sets since the beginning should imo get the chance to buy some really new stuff these days in order to let the WV grow smartly. So why not making a sequence of two years? One year is a re-design of an older WV set (e. g. train this year) and the second year is a completely new set (e. g. candy shop)? This would do justice to old as well as new WV fans. What are your thoughts? 23 hours ago, Celtchief said: I am hoping it is mostly just the train. I bet it will be mostly black (because of the in two parts devided windscreen appearing in black in some summer set). And in contrast to last time, I guess we will see no cargo and passenger waggon, but "only" two passenger waggons. I imagine a train similar to 7715 Push-Along Passenger Steam Train, but with Christmas decoration. But I hope that there'll be a very small station included. Why? Because this is the second year in a row that we get a re-designed WV set. Next year we do really need something completely new!!!! Edited August 30 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

I don't know if i would consider the last two years redesigns of previous sets. Now, I do not think last years set was that great, and I am hoping the train this year is a strong bounce back. But the reason I do not believe last years set is a redesign is because it is the North Poles Mail office, if anything it is a companion to the original post office, now the letters can travel from one place to the other. As for the trains, and this is coming from someone who runs my winter village as the back drop for the trains, But that said, for train lovers anyhow, saying a passenger train is a redesign of a freight train is a little like saying a Tie Fighter is a redesign on an X Wing or a Pick Up Track is a Redesign of a Sport car. I do agree with you about the older sets though, and alternating from one year to the next, or better yet, bring out two sets in one year. Cheers Robert Edited August 30 by Celtchief Quote
Arstotle Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Still no more WV news, but pictures of 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT are out. 697 pieces and comes with just the Gingerbread Darth Vader minifigure. Very whimsical, fun set. Will definitely be picking this up. Quote
Celtchief Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) The New GingerBread AT-AT looks good. It will be in my village. Edited September 1 by Celtchief Quote
Arstotle Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) 40809 Festive Gingerbread House looks good too. I'll definitely find a place for that in the village. With the UCS Death Star most likely to be revealed on Thursday, I'm guessing that we're stuck waiting until at least next week for the official reveal of this year's WV set. RichardGoring Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Very impressed with the new holiday sets. The ATAT is good fun, the gingerbread house is neat, the snowmen are rather cute, and the way some of the upscaled Santa is build looks cool (although disappointed at the lack of belt going around the corners). I think I'll have to get all of them. Edited September 2 by RichardGoring Quote
Lion King Posted Tuesday at 09:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:02 PM Hmmm Gingerbread sets are not too bad, they are very cute for village for sure! Quote

Traditionally WV sets are good sellers for TLG, revenue should justify enought time for designers to create something new and wonderful each year. Perhaps with the increase in number of sets being released the design team just doesn't have as much time available as tbey used to. Also the top designers may be more interested in the more complicated design projects. Quote

LOL I want to add another floor to the gingerbread house and modify the living daylights out of it by removing the candy items. In my opinion, it almost looks like a stereotypical English rowhouse if you replace the gingerbread-related stuff with regular parts... Edited Thursday at 06:46 PM by Murdoch17 Quote
