CM4Sci Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Wow, this looks awesome! What exactly is SHIPtember? I've seen it happening before and I was always curious. Quote
pinioncorp Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Love the skis in the side - great texture. Very promising, look forward to seeing it completed. Quote
Phoxtane Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 You stole my color scheme. Now I'm going to have to add in another color What exactly is SHIPtember? I've seen it happening before and I was always curious. https://www.flickr.com/groups/the-shipyard/ Every September people participate in this event where the goal is to build a SHIP (Significantly Huge Investment in Parts). The basic definition is that it must be at least 100 studs long (or longer) in any dimension for it to qualify as a SHIP. According to Sariel's scaling tool, 100 studs is about 2 and 2/3 feet (a bit under a yard/meter) in length. Quote
hunpeter12 Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 You stole my color scheme. Now I'm going to have to add in another color Or we can build a fleet? Love the skis in the side - great texture. Very promising, look forward to seeing it completed. It's also my favorite part I think I'll use it in every MOC from now on Wow, this looks awesome! Thanks! Quote
TenorPenny Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Classic colour scheme, nice variation with the stripe to boot. Quote
hunpeter12 Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Classic colour scheme, nice variation with the stripe to boot. I didn't want anything crazy this year. I went for classic shapes and colors, stabiity/sturdiness and modularity (I'm planning to take it to a local convention). I also like how the stripe turned out. Unfortunately I had to order some more blue pieces, because I'm running out of them. That delays significant progress by a couple of days. Quote
gicomegi Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) great texture. Very promising, look forward to seeing it completed. Edited August 10, 2015 by gicomegi Quote

Ramidalis Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Looks very nice and what is more, it's inspiring me to start sorting bricks :) Quote
hunpeter12 Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Looks very nice and what is more, it's inspiring me to start sorting bricks :) I'm glad you like it. Sorting is a necessary evil of LEGO building, but once you have everything categorized it will be easier next time you take a MOC apart. Quote
hunpeter12 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 I made some progress, but it's still likely that I can't finish in time. With all the things removed: All the removable things by Péter Ittzés, on Flickr The full assembly: Progress so far by Péter Ittzés, on Flickr I hope you like it Quote
