I would love for this topic to just be a thread where we can share creations made with pneumatics, hopefully I am not the only one. I’m also a big fan of pneumatic systems. My first pneumatic set was the 42043 - Mercedes-Benz Arocs, and I’ve owned all the pneumatic sets since. My favorite set recently is the 42157 John Deere Skidder because it’s not very often that we have five large cylinders in a set. I’ve also managed to create an alternate build that utilizes all five cylinders. Details of this alternate build have been posted here. Edited February 2, 2025 by tungpham Quote
ord Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Has anyone noticed much higher friction in the 6L pumps compared to the old 5.5L pumps? I ordered some 6L pumps from Pick A Brick for my compressor but the motors struggle to pump them (even with extra down-gearing), making compression slow and the batteries drain fast. Quote

I have not noticed this, but I assume the 6L pump has more volume to push than the 5.5L pump. It makes sense for the motor to require more force, but I'd think it would be a pretty negligible amount. ord Posted Monday at 11:36 PM Posted Monday at 11:36 PM I think the volume is the same since they both have a 2L stroke. The new ones (for me anyway) are noticeably harder to push/pull, and I think when doing this hundreds of times per minute this becomes an issue. Quote

Are all your 6L pumps the same? Quote
ord Posted Tuesday at 01:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:16 PM They're all similar (and similar to my other cylinders). It's the 5.5L pumps that seem to be the odd ones out - moving them is almost effortless. Quote
