goatman461 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Modular Tatooine - full by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Modular Tatooine - open by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I wanted to try a modular and thought my recent SoNE build lent itself well to the format. I basically borrowed the Parisian Restaurant's layout and piled on from there. The bottom floor has a prison, dewback depot, and armory. The second floor has a patio, bar, and communications room. And the top layer is just equipment/greebles and some features reminiscent of Mos Espa. I thought of this outpost as a structure requisitioned by the Empire and converted to a lame attempt at asserting their dominance. I hope y'all enjoy it. Sorry there aren't more pictures. Quote
Lego Fett Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Wow! That is amazing! I really like the look of i! But i think there should be less white parts. If you are low its OK. Still looks great! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Ooooh, very creative. I personally haven't seen anything like it before. Great job bro. Quote
jimmynick Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Looks cool! You've got the right sense of curved lines on the adobe building, and I like the ramps from the street to the jail cells. But what is the thing floating above white-suit-black-hat man's head? And the canopy above the jail feels a bit heavy. Quote
Commander Beltar Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Amazing build! I like the new additions/modifications from your SoNE version, since is modular, are you going to make more Tatooine modular buildings? Quote
Tariq j Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Great work, I really like how you've managed to keep the details of the original build in there. Quote
LegoPercyJ Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This is a great modular Tatooine! I really like the overall smoothness and curves! Quote
Artizan Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Great job! I really like the small details such as sloppy entrance to the prison doors, ventilation structures, lighting units! Quote
hanngmcgon Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I personally haven't seen anything like it before. Quote
Markalus Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Very cool, I like the concept.TLG should take note and combine two of their most successful lines. A modular series based on Mos Eisley would be amazing! Both official releases of the Cantina have been underwhelming and there is such a wealth of potential in the most wretched hive of scum and villainy. Quote

I like the new additions/modifications from your SoNE version, since is modular, are you going to make more Tatooine modular buildings? nothing planned, but that would be cool, this will probably get scrapped for parts since the next LUG event is not until this fall and I plan to do a SHIP for that Quote
NNOPMOC Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Very nice. You really captured the essence of a Tatooine style building. If anything, I would have suggested making the lower few layes of brics a darker colour (if you could find the right shade), particularly around the Dewback parking zone . . . with maybe a trash bin and a spade . . . and a little vegetable patch fretilized by, . . well, . . you know.
