Hi All,

I've finished (and also renamed) my old WIP (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=108092)

Azure Blue - Model T

*Edit* Adding a photo of the finished model

Renders:

And (thanks to my wife) it's now been approved on LEGO Ideas! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/102261

As it seems there is no Creator Train coming soon, I want to show that there is demand for LEGO trains. I'd appreciate any support.

I've been a bit sneaky and added a carriage which is very similar to the Emerald Night one:

If it ever made it into a set, then it would be easy to modify to get it back to the Emerald night ones! I missed out on the LEGO set, but have bricklinked a carriage, so I'll build it in the original colours.

I've got all the bricks now and will be building and updating with real world pics over the weekend!

Have a good one

Cheers

Dylan

Looks nice in azure. Those blue type technic axle/pins in the front bogie will not spin easily and cause drag compared to the tan type.

The Azure and pearl gold really look nice. Great work.

[Thinking....Maybe the next phase of NeoClassic space should have some pearl gold trim.] [/sidetrack]

Thanks and ahh yes. The job of picking any colour in LDD does not work so well in life. I'm thinking of shaving/sanding off the 'friction' pins so I can still use blue. I didn't notice as I was ordering them on Bricklink, but you are right!!

Thanks! Originally it was black trim, but I needed something to brighten it up a bit. Blue and Gold work so well together!

Finished! And wow, are photos difficult to take!

Random Wizard figure for scale. (and dust)

And finally, battery and motor in tender, with coal for the on off switch (and more dust - seriously, where is it coming from, it was built less than 2 days ago!!)

Bricklink is awesome (my wallet would say otherwise!)

Thanks for the earlier comments all

Blue is a difficult color to work with on trains and and as such, you really pulled this off nicely! The gold accents look awesome, and so does the tender.

BTW: I feel you pain on the dust issue: I have four pet birds where I live, plus about a half dozen people and the dust levels are astronomical! Every day I clean my layout and it still looks like I neglect to clean it for a month or two.

There are a lot of clever details worked in to that engine, e.g., the "hinges" on the smokebox door. The color scheme looks great and with the train all together it is mighty fine work.

Thanks! I think you have worse dust issues than me!

Very nice well done and it does look a bit like Thomas the tank engine :)

Haha thanks! I did watch the orginal (and best, voiced by Ringo Starr) so maybe I had that somewhere in my head...

Many thanks, and for noticing the details. After building some modulars, I've really learnt to look closer. It's also a bit of fun to model it with the figures 'shovling' coal in!
