Pat-Ard Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi folks, yes, I did it again. Some might think it's boring. So, maybe, but not for me :) Today I preset you the actual beta of my U411. The Unimog has a wheelbase of 23 studs and is 17 studs over all wide. It's in the sam scale as all my other Unimogs 1/12,5. Since the beta is in black, the pictures aren't that good. In the next days I'll check which other color is possible... I use a L-Motor for driving an a S-Motor for steering. At the moment the accu is placed on the bed. Now pictures. First some pictures of the beta chassis: And now some pictures of the actual beta: There's still some detailing to do, but hey, that fun... Have fun watching the pictures. So far Pat Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Not bad, can you show the chassis a bit more? Quote
valis Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 That is cute. Can't wait to see it in action. Quote
Kubavet Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 It's always good to see new Unimog here. It's great :) Quote
derpydragon Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 That's pretty awesome. Any chance of a pic of the underside? I'd love to see how to chassis looks, can't tell whats body work and whats chassis work with all the black Quote
Pat-Ard Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 Hi folks, thanks for your positive comments... Yes, there will be more pictures of the chassis, I think I'll rebuild it in red. Pat Quote
__________________________ Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Seems like the 5X7 studless frame could be flipped around to increase ground clearance. Very cute and small Quote
Pat-Ard Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Hi folks, oh yes, as mentioned before, I did some little changes... Selected a color which I don't really like, but hey, it looks good... Changed some small things on the chassis and the color from black to red. And the old wheels looked too small and tiny. The new ones are a little too big, but I think it looks better. Overdid the flatbed. Now only some minor detailling stuff to do... So, enough words... Pictures: Have fun... Pat Quote
DamonMM2000 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I like the update! The front end looks good. Quote
5imon Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 The front end looks really great! Simple, but sopt on. The colour change is a good point as well, it makes the Unimog much more recognizeable than the "all black" look – at least on the photos. However, I'm not a fan of the new wheels. They seem too wide for such an old vehicle. The first ones were too small and too much road type, I agree. So you probably had the same problem I had with several of my older style MOCs: too little choice of narrow tires... Quote
Pat-Ard Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Hi Simon, yes, the wheels are the usual problem of most MOCs... I saw some nice third party wheels some days ago, those aren't that wide... Pat Quote
Pat-Ard Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Hi folks, I published the MOC on rebrickable... Here's the link: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Pat-Ard/unimog-u411 Have fun building. Pat Quote
Pat-Ard Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Hi folks, first of, all purists: PLEASE STOPP READING ;) Today arrived some new of effermans amazing Shapeways parts... First some rim covers and second the frame of the rear diff. But look yourself: So far Pat Quote

weavil Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 It looked amazing, but now it looks perfect with eff's parts! The 8110 had a baby. What about his fenders? Quote
Pat-Ard Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 Hi folks, thanks... @weavil: The U411 has no real fenders. But I used some of effe's fenders on the U400 ;) Pat Quote
DamonMM2000 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) The differential housing looks great! Wish I could get one now Edited February 27, 2015 by DamonMM2000 Quote

Pat-Ard Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 You're right. I'll ask him for small portal hubs... Quote
Pat-Ard Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Hi, today I present you the PDF building instructions... Catweazel made them. I think they are great... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21147896/U411.pdf Have fun... And special thanks to Catweazel! Pat Quote
NXT45 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This is such a good -and small- model! I would like to build this but I don't have the BB. How well do you think it compares to the 8881? Quote
Pat-Ard Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Hm, the large battery box is a little too big... But if you put it on the bed it would work... Quote
