Dfenz Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 For the most recent brick.ie exhibition in Raheny I completely scrapped and rebuilt my old train tunnel. The new version is twin tracked with both a straight track and a curved section to facilitate landscaping of our train layouts. The tunnel has more detailed rockery than its predecessor including a bear cave. The waterfall moves using a technique I've seen on the web previously so its not my design - I couldn't believe those 1x4 plates are so prone to coming off the track threads. There are also two moving miners tapping away at the jewels. Both the waterfall and miners are remote controlled using PF wire. 2014-10-26 11.06.03 by Dfenz, on Flickr 2014-10-26 11.27.50 by Dfenz, on Flickr 2014-10-26 11.27.36 by Dfenz, on Flickr 2014-10-26 11.07.48 by Dfenz, on Flickr 2014-10-26 11.08.12 by Dfenz, on Flickr 2014-10-27 16.44.32 by Dfenz, on Flickr Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Its so organic! Love the small staris, they rally liven up the tunnel. And the caves and the waterfall are top notch, Quote
Andy Glascott Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That's cool Dfenz, hope the show went well too. Quote
eurotrash Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Great rockwork and its good to see the Seagull again! Quote
KeepLeft Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Very well built, I like the little path to the top. Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Very nice build. Loved the stairs. Quote
KringlesBricks Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 That looks amazing!! I really like the look of the "rockiness" of the mountain. You know approximately how many bricks you have in that?? I',m starting to collect pieces to make a mountain side and tunnel entrances in my train layout. Quote
Man with a hat Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Nice tunnel. It has some great details. I like those steps for example. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 What a fantastic layout ...that tunnel is a real masterpiece! Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 So the tunnel has two tracks going in one side and then two seperate exits at right angles to each other? Or am I confused? I like the overall build and style, the bear cave is nice and the way you have done the falling water. It looks good but I am just not sure about the track layout inside. Quote

There are two tracks going in one side. The left track exits left at 90 degree angle. The right goes straight through. The base is modular so my intention is that with some different top sections I can eventually have only the curved section if I wish. Quote
