shimon Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone. Here is my attempt recreating the upcoming 2015 technic set 42037 There were a couple hidden areas where i had to guess, hence my model has about 30~ parts less than the set but everything is connected and should be stable. Cheers Shimon. 42037.lxf Edited October 31, 2014 by shimon Added Image Quote

Zerobricks Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 If you want me to I can fix your LXF file - I can add springs, steering links, insert all the pins... Good work none the less. Quote
Balrog Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I gave this one a try myself. Got it mostly finished and probably some sections totally wrong. Will take a look later to see if I can improve my own version. Quote
shimon Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 Zblj, that would be nice, my LDD has some weird bugs where I can't add simple pins, it drives me crazy.. Got 70% of 42028 and I have to start all over to fix the position bug Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I have added a image to your first post. Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I tried fixing your model, but I dont know how to say this in any other way... The model has a serious missaligniment issues. Early in the build you rotate something and missed by few tenths of a degree and than the errors just kept adding up... I suggest you to rebuild the model and than I can add springs, etc... Also the rear CV joints proboably have a 3L axle, not a 2L one... Sorry cant help you any further due to the skewed fundations. Quote
Balrog Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 shimon: I compared your lxf to mine and found some interesting things I didn't even think about and make totally sense. Also, I finished my real build with the help of your lxf. In the end, I realized that I somewhere got some lengths wrong so my model is a stud shorter or so. I think, the rear axle is not built with double 6L thin beams, but with 7L beams instead. But that is just my thoughts. In the end, I need to rebuild my version Quote
shimon Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Do it and post a pic!! I calculated the dimensions very carefully Quote
Balrog Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Here is the pic: As I said, I only had some soft shocks available. Thus I had to support the back somehow. Also I put some 9398 wheels in the back, because I was too lazy to put the correct ones together. Quote
shimon Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Zblj: well im working on building it again and maybe ill find better way to fill the hidden sides. 42038 is ALOT harder because not only the inside structure is hidden but also i see TLG doesnt always use the easiest and the most deductable way building.. i will repost the new LDD file. also, some parts have incorrect max angle such as the C frame assembly and the suspension arms Balrog: does everything work well? and is the model solid enough ? i wish i had the parts to build the actual thing... Balrog Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Balrog: does everything work well? and is the model solid enough ? i wish i had the parts to build the actual thing... Since this is mostly my own version and I didn't think about the dogbones in the front I had to improvise a lot. So far it is very sturdy. But I think this depends a bit on how I built the front. Well the ackerman steering is working the wrong way. But the steering lock is huge, which is a fat pro. Quote
shimon Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Here, i did it. everything works well and the structure is solid. the build was pretty easy and some changes were made. Quote
Balrog Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Very nice. Still, I think it should be wider on the rear axle. Quote
