  1. Just saw the leaked DS pics. So… that’s it? That’s the big $1000 set? 10 dioramas stacked to look like a slice of the DS? And sure, it has a crap ton of figs, but at 9000 parts it just doesn’t feel worth it. The last one also had a lot of figs, but it was way cheaper and had a lot more scenes, plus it actually felt like you were buying the whole Death Star due to the spherical shape. I think if the backside of this one was a detailed model of one half of the DS, it would be intriguing, but as it is it feels like a less interesting version of what we’ve had before, so I’ll be saving my money.
  2. I also just watched the new special. Indeed an oddly timed ad for the market set, although the last special also dropped long after the castle that it was promoting was released. @OttoRiver already spoiled it, but I’ll put it in a spoiler tag anyway:

  5. Fun contest! Can we include non-licensed minifigs in our entry or should it only be licensed IPs?

    Warhammer 40K

Indeed, but he pretty much shows you how to build it, so not sure what more you need as instructions.
  7. Cute! I like the fittingly illegally attached tail. Now you just need Johnny in a soapbox version of the Scorpion Tracker to race him! Or maybe just put Harry Cane in the official soapbox plane.
  8. Don’t forget Xalax from LEGO Racers 2!
  9. I wouldn’t. While Aquazone did evolve out of the Seatron idea, it is commonly regarded as an Action theme since it was never confirmed to be set on another planet or simply in Earth’s future. Having factions themed around Earth sea creatures such as sharks and rays suggests it is the latter. Besides, as evidenced by threads like this, the Space lore is confusing enough without having to work Aquazone into it.
  10. Good thoughts. I think the Space timeline has already been pieced together as best as possible in this thread: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/76493-the-space-timeline/ Placing the 2024 theme is indeed tricky, but I do think it goes somewhere between City Space and Futuron.
  11. Yeah, this can be tricky without the bottom hulls. I’d recommend looking at how the Creator Pirate Ship’s hull is built. I believe it’s 14-wide, so you may need to modify the width, but you can build something similar and use the hull piece you have for the bow.
  12. Oh man, it’s been a while since we’ve had an alt-build contest, let alone one encompassing all themes! This will be fun. One question: can we use the spare parts from the set in our build?
  13. 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck will make for a nice Adventurers vehicle once you mod it to be a bit less colorful. Yes, I have the figs and can confirm it’s sand green. True, although the black center stripe limits its usefulness somewhat. Maybe if you stack them with an offset, they’ll make for some nice rocky steps.
  14. I’d be careful about using random pieces to represent tribal cultures, but yeah, I could see her being used as a leader or priestess or something.
  15. Some of the D&D CMFs have some good outfits for adventurers such as the Ranger, Tasha, and the Druid. Also, some of the heads would make great treasures or temple decorations such as the golden dragon head, the trans. red skull, or the Lady of Pain’s mask!
