Between this and Indiana Jones, I really choose to be a fan of the worst things where Lego is concerned.

After a bit of research, it seems one of him was planned, originally for the upcoming ToD wave of figs. But he's no longer part of it, replaced with Black Sleep Indy who was not in the original plan. Between that and the ToD set being cancelled after getting boxart and such, that leads me to believe dropping all Thuggee related content was a fairly last minute decision by Lucasfilm or Disney. It's really too bad. I understand why, just a bummer.

Man, I'm collecting the new Adventure Series line of action figures too, and no sign of Mola Ram there either. Lends some credence to the theory that Disney just doesn't want any of the Thuggee related stuff in merchandise. Still, makes you wonder why the Temple of Doom got far into production to the point where boxart was made.

We're going to get the ucs Neon Talking Super Street BatLuge before anything relating to the wider DC universe.

Indiana Jones toys have never been a terribly hot seller from what I've heard. The Kenner figure line from the 1980s failed after a single wave, as did the Temple of Doom LJN line. Last Crusade got no merchandising at all, and the final wave of Hasbro's efforts in 2008 limped to the finish line with very limited distribution. Dunno how the initial Lego line did, but if the action figures sales are anything to go by? If they did indeed have lukwarm sales, might explain why there's only 3 new ones.

I get the idea Lucasfilm is hesitant to push any of the Thuggee stuff from ToD because of how it could definitely be uh...controversial to say the least. So it's possible Lucasfilm were the ones who told Lego to can it. But who knows, we're apparently still getting Mola Ram in the Hasbro figure line. Either way, it's kind of a bummer that it looks like this is all we're getting. This was a chance to fill in the gaps from the original line. I know we'll never get the tank, but why in neither wave did we get a Grail Temple? Come on, the 3 trials are perfect for action features, it practically builds itself.

Some revival.

After a lot of hassle, I managed to get the Well of Souls and Plane at B&N today. Wish I had a Lego Store in my neck of the woods, would make it all much easier. Couldn't find the temple anywhere, natch.

Oh yay, more Bat vehicles.

Movies are great and all, but I'd sure like some more comic based sets. 2015 and 2018 had some really nice ones.

A chance to get a Justice League themed line, and we missed out. Because why would something nice ever happen?

Realistically, best we'll get is figs of Billy and maybe some of his family thrown into more Batman sets. That's what happened last time.

Blegh, that cowl looks as bad as the first one. Wish it had been the 66 Batboat instead.

I do too, but it's unlikely. We'll probably get the weird Ice Sled thing from Batman & Robin before the Planet, Fortress of Solitude, Hall of Justice etc. If by some miracle we do get a legit Planet, I'll just sell the Bugle.

I actually bought the Bugle and am in the process of modding it into the Planet. Doubt we'll ever get a legit one, so may as well.

Speaking personally, more Batman isn't exactly enthralling. The DC Universe is huge, and it's wasted potential to just release random black vehicles over and over again. Now obviously they do that for a reason, Batman is clearly the only name that actually sells. But knowing that is cold comfort to say the least. I dunno, I've just been jealous of Marvel lately. They get the Daily Bugle and we get another Batmobile. I really can't put into words how disappointed I am about that.

That's why I just want them to kill the theme. It's so pathetic, may as well be a mercy kill.

I'd rather get some new stuff based on the upcoming Superman show. Ignoring my personal bias towards the Man of Steel, he doesn't get enough Lego representation. Granted, my brain knows better, but my heart sure hopes for it.

Me too, since it shouldn't be that hard. After all, we're never going to get the real deal, so may as well try the next best thing. Frankly I'm surprised they haven't done a Wayne Manor/Batcave d2c. With all the Batman themed stuff they pump out, you'd think they'd at least do that. And no, Joker Manor doesn't count.

Man, seeing the new Daily Bugle set makes me so depressed that we still haven't got and will likely never get a Daily Planet equivalent.

Whoops, thought the CMF series was 2019. In my defense, most of 2020 sorta blends together memorywise.

I mean it's no surprise the Bat vehicles sell best, otherwise we'd see a more diverse selection of stuff. It's just business. If I may be selfish for a moment, I'd rather the theme just quietly die like DC Superhero Girls if it's just gonna stagnate this much. When literally the only mildly interesting things in the entire theme last year were Bronze Tiger and Etta Candy? It's sort of pathetic.

Much as I hate the Batman oversaturation, it's clearly happening for a reason. We're not privy to Lego's sales, but I think it's pretty clear that if the non Bat Rickshaw or whatever stuff sold better, we'd see more of it. Really doesn't make it any easier to deal with though. Learning that Marvel is getting a d2c Daily Bugle and we still haven't gotten even a Daily Planet playset hurts. It's a tough time to be a DC fan. Comics are fine, but WB has no idea what they're doing when it comes to films, there's no current cartoons that are any good, and the Lego sets are terrible. There's some of the live-action shows, but that's about it for good things right now.
