  1. Yes, Norrington, it'd be great if all the image sizes above are the same size, since you have a set image size, right? What 320x240, something like that?
  2. Well considering my town scene picture is so small, and my other picture is so big, and everyone else's pictures are so big doesn't seem fair, does it? I want people to actually SEE the picture, not strain their eyes and say, "Oh, I can't see it, I'll vote for someone else" Besides, there is a link at the bottom of the entries saying "For more picutres of each entry visit this thread (link)." So It is perfectly fair! |-/ I've got no control of the enrty picture size, Norrington does. And I still would appreciate your votes! I simply wanted people to actually see the pictures, but if that is somehow against the rules (show me where) than don't follow the link. Simple as that.
  3. I already voted! Good Luck everyone, and I appreciate your votes! :)
  4. I want to say Good Luck to everyone! *sweet* Oh, yeah, :) I would also appreciate your votes! Thanks X-D More pictures of my scenes are here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=247551 Please take a look, I'm sure my pictures will entice you because they are bigger, and they will show more details of my scenes, especially my town since the picture here is so small!
  5. When will voting comence? :-$
  6. Yeah, but the sails are useless, anyway, not like the Black Pearl is real or anything :'-) On the note of the flying Duthcman I would like to make one, but it seems like it'd be too big, expensive, and I think it'd be too hard to match the color scheme.. 8-|
  7. Thanks, Wout! I know its not perfect but it's not bad for my first ship! *sweet*
  8. That makes since, so why did it even have sails? ;-)
  9. You think so, Pirate Manic, about the holes? Well, I think it looks ok, all the holes sort of stress "Beware, this is a ghost ship"!!!! :) But would a ship with sails even be able to move with holes in it? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having sails?
  10. Well, I used EvilWilly's tutorial. First I printed out scale images of offical lego sails, since I did not have any ones of the right size/shape. Then I traced them (after cutting them out) on regualar, cheap black cloth. I'm not sure the exact type of cloth, though, just some cheap, thin black cloth. Once the sails were cut out, I put lot's o' holes in em'! I also made a set of sails without holes, just in case I wanted to swap them.
  11. Thanks!
  12. Sorry about the double post, but this deserved it's own post. *y* RESIZED PICTURES!!!!! :-D *sweet* :-D *sweet* EDIT: Sorry, I guess the pictures' sizes changed in the first post automatically.
  13. What? The pics are too big? Hey, I did master resizing pictures! See my Dead Men Tell No Tales Vig contest entries. The pictures are down right puny! (besides, that takes to long, I don't feel like it) Oh, and it is the "BLACK" Pearl, so naturally, it's black! 8-o
  14. 27c Ahoy again! I know I made a topic for my Pearl's sails, but I thought it deserved it's own topic. Thanks to EvilWilly for the tutorial on the sails- it came in handy. Ok, so this one was made using LDD 2.0, but when it came in, it was too small, so I made it bigger and added more details. This is the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. (Only becasue it has ripped sails, I made sails without holes, too, like in PotC: Dead Man's Chest, and PotC: At World's End. I have pictures of the 'full' sails on my brickshelf gallery.) Here are some pictures, there are more at: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=197227 Whole Back Bow and Figurehead Stern Right Top Ok all, thanks for looking. (The pictures do not do justice for the real thing) :-| Tell me what ya think! X-D Again, there are more pictures here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=197227
  15. Yeah, I used dark red tiles for the oriental rug on the ground. (the rest I slavaged from oriental expedition sets) But underneath the cloth on the bed is bricks (purple ones to be exact). You could always gather up a bunch of capes and see if you can postion them just so. I used capes as blankets at the foot of the bed to cover up the hole in the middle of the oriental 'sheets'. As for the water, I used transparent blue ones for the town, and used transparent plates to create a rippling effect. But I have absolutley NO water in my grotto scene, so I don't think that will be a problem for you.
  16. I'm flatterd. :'-) I, too have only been to Florida, not California, but they are extremly similar from the research I have done.
  17. Yeah, I know it's a little messy, but I wanted to stuff in all I could in a , what is it, 16x 32 baseplate. Carlos being dunked is what I wanted to focus on, so I did. Then the building is on fire (which lights up). Then I wanted to put in a little marketplace, which houses a lady hitting a rogue pirate with a broom. Then, of course the pirate drinking on the bridge: that's classic. I think you did that, too Norrington. Then just a wall with ivy. I agree, it's not 100% accurate, but it gets some good aspects of the ride. I was also very pleased with the captain's quarters, the oriental rug on the grouns, a canopy and sheets. Again, not 100% accurate, but it looks good to me! :)
  18. Wow Mr Phes. I have never been to Legoland either, and I know what a miniland is! :) Back on topic, I have made a few miniland scale characters myself. I made myself, my two brothers, my rabbit, and a guy in a strait jacket. Unfortunately, I never took pictures, and now they are in a zillion little peices, scattered around my basement floor. :S
  19. Here are my two entries: the Cap'n's Quarters, and a town scene. Town Scene: One of the most famous scenes: the pirates dunking the mayor, Carlos. Above, his wife tells him not to talk, so he gets dunked in the well. Also, a pirate is being chased by a broom-weilding lady. Overhead, a pirate drinks. I also added fire to the scene that really lights up! (see pictures) An Overview: Closeup: Dunking: Fire (lights up) How the fire lights up: So that is my entry #1, notice that the fire actually lights up via light brick from the 'dragon creator set'. I knew that peice would come in handy! Entry #2 Captain's Quarters. Here, a boat would pass by the captain's room, with an elegantly beutiful bed, which is a little messy. The bed has a canopy, and there is also a red drape draped across the front. The captain has a very elegant chadelier overhead, above a dining table, with a golden plate. There is a table with books next to his bed, and hanging on the wall is a treasure map. There are also candles, both near the captains bed, and near the table. Overview: In Bed: Closeup: In the dark: Another Overview: All the pictures , and more (and bigger pictures, too) can be found here! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=247551 Thanks for looking, and good luck to everyone! *sweet*
  20. I hear the resturant is really nice, yeah, just like mexico at Epcot, but it is also expensive. I hear it is the only place that sells mint julups, too!
  21. I've only been to the Florida one, but I hear that California's has a way better flume part. Did I hear right?
  22. lego potC ride (with some other disney attractions) Pretty good model, it's big anyway. I found this on brickshelf (it's not mine) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=118683
  23. Wouldn't it be fairer to have a poll for all the entries (if there are more than five) for the 3 catergories, so that everyone has an equal chance, becasuse some people could put a lot of effort into theirs, but then it may not be one of the five, like ImperialScouts said? (just sayin') :)
  24. I'm working on mine right now, actually. I post pics when it's done. It's almost done. *sweet*
  25. I have been on the ride, and I understand the rules. When should I start building? I have an idea, but it will be pretty small.
