  1. Wizard Duel Round 1 Johann Peterschmut | 5------Vs.-----Philius Pylos | 5 Low ~ 0 -------------------- Low ~ 0 High ~ 1 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Silencio ~ 1 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 Mid ~ 1 ------------------- High ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 Health: 5 --------------------- Health: 2 The school gathers to watch the Dueling Club in the Great Hall, as the Slytherin Johann is matched against the Ravenclaw Philius. The duelists bow to one another and cast their first spells but the collide in mid air and cause a shower of sparks to fall upon the audience. Johann then conjures a paper bird to peck at Pylos' head. Philius tries to cast a shield charm against Peterschmut's next spell but the Slytherin quickly cast Silencio, causing the spell to falter. Johann follows up with a shot to Philius' torso and the young Ravenclaw skids across the dueling dais. As the first round closes, both combatants cast a shield charm. A strong first round for Johann but we've all seen students come back from behind so Philius may still come back in the second round. Send the DSs when ready.
  2. Wizard Duel Round 3 Diana Fabray | 5------Vs.-----Philius Pylos | 2 Crucio ~ 1 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 High ~ 1 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ------------------- Low ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 1 Health: 5 --------------------- Health: 0 The Slytherin starts off with the cruciatus curse again. Then she and Philius both produce a shield charm against spells that don't come. Diana then squeezes a high shot over the Ravenclaw's defenses. Philius loses consciousness as Diana runs to tell everyone that her losing streak is over. Well, KDM, you know what they say about the blind squirrel... Just kidding. Tough luck, Professor. Good new is there's been a few new players added this past week for you to try your luck on.
  3. Wizard Duel Round 2 Diana Fabray | 5------Vs.-----Philius Pylos | 3 Protego ~ 0 -------------------- High ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- Mid ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ------------------- Low ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Health: 5 --------------------- Health: 2 Philus comes out from his hiding place casting a flurry of spells, all of which Diana blocks with a shield charm. Diana casts crucio and the Ravenclaw writhes in pain. Pylos casts two more spells in rapid succession but once again Fabray blocks them. Send for round 3 when ready.
  4. Wizard Duel Round 1 Diana Fabray | 5------Vs.-----Philius Pylos | 5 Mid ~ 1 -------------------- High ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Mid ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ------------------- Low ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Health: 5 --------------------- Health: 3 Diana still looking for a win, corners the Ravenclaw Pylos in an empty classroom. The first spell hits home and Philius falls to the floor in a heap. She follows this up with a cruciatus curse and Philius groans in pain. Recovering, the Ravenclaw dives for cover. The next few moments are a blur as spells fly from their wands and bounce off walls, none finding their intended target. I still have no clue why I wasn't receiving your PMs, Professor, but the problem seems to be over. Well, KDM, you're off to a better start than your last few duels but Philius could bounce back in the next round. Send for round 2 when ready.
  5. Really? I was hoping to beat her to get back at you zapping my ewok in jedi duel..... Anyway, you actually still have that ongoing duel with Professor Flitwick.
  6. Wizard Duel Round 3 Diana Fabray | 2------Vs.-----Johann Peterschmut | 3 Crucio ~ 1 -------------------- Silencio ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 1 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ------------------- Protego ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- Mid ~ 1 Health: 0 --------------------- Health: 2 Diana goes on the offensive once again with a cruciatus curse. While Johann is writhing on the ground he manages to get off a low spell that breaks his opponents concentration. He follows it up with a high spell but it is blocked by Diana. She tries a mid shot but has hers blocked by the new student. Peterschmut then hits Fabray with a well-timed shot to end the match. It's off to the infirmary for Diana. Congrats on your first win Admiral! Tough luck, KDM. Don't forget to update your profiles.
  7. Wizard Duel Round 2 Diana Fabray | 2------Vs.-----Johann Peterschmut | 4 Protego ~ 0 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Crucio ~ 0 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 Mid ~ 1 ------------------- High ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Health: 2 --------------------- Health: 3 Diana skids across the floor as Johann tries to remain the aggressor. He fires off another two spells but they are blocked by Fabray. She then tries the cruciatus curse again but Johann shields himself from it. Unfazed she tries a shot at his torso and it hits home and singes a hole in his shirt. Angrier now, Peterschmut retaliates with a low spell but Diana is ready to block it in time. Geez, guys, Protego much? You're back in it KDM, anyone's game. Send DS's when ready.
  8. Wizard Duel Round 1 Diana Fabray | 5------Vs.-----Johann Peterschmut | 5 Mid ~ 0 -------------------- Low ~ 1 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 High ~ 0 ------------------- Mid ~ 1 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 1 Health: 2 --------------------- Health: 4 Diana, desperately trying to end her losing streak, picks a fight with the new Slytherin, Johann. "Mudblood!" she spits at him. Without turning around he shoots a low spell at her, knocking her off of her feet. Diana retaliates with the cruciatus curse and It is Johann's turn to hit the floor. He recovers remarkably quickly, however, and blocks Fabray's next attack. He then counters with a spell of his own and causes her to fly into the air, then follows it up with another before she hits the floor. You know, KDM, if you get Diana to stop wearing that shirt with the big target on it, she might not get hit quite so often. Seriously, this is some streak of bad luck... Send DS's for round 2 when ready.
  9. Hey, you stay away from Mr. Snuggly! Curse you, Sith scum! Anyone care to take me on while while my lucky ewok recuperates in his bacta tank?
  10. Just checked again and didn't find anything from you. I don't know what happened but could you send it again?
  11. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Someday you'll get your comeuppance, Carlos, someday.
  12. Ouch. That's all I have to say about that. DS sent.
  13. Not so bad. Not great but.... DS for round 2 sent.
  14. Love the pic. Looks like Zerb's hair gets darker as he sweats. (I really like the viking beard face but it the orange hair to go with it is a little rarer than other colors. I actually ordered the hair I used especially for it cause I had none.) Still so close, KDM. C'mon lucky Ewok! DS sent.
  15. You've gotta lose sometime. I'm willing to try to break your streak.
  16. Yeah, I was very happy with the way the vig turned out. Its a shame I have to dismantle it to work on my entry for the Star Wars contest. And not every cosplayer can afford a detailed costume. I'd like to imagine that Mort bought everything he needed at a Walmart or something.
  17. And Hufflepuff strikes again. Good match, CF. I'm up for another match if anyone is interested. I can also adjudicate for anyone, just let me know.
  18. Mort Norris manages a fast food place called Cap'n Curry's Fish Hut but his real passion is going to conventions as Aquaman. Mort doesn't know why he is drawn to be the King of Atlantis, perhaps it is because he has always felt like a fish out of water or because knows subconsciouly that he would be a somewhat useless superhero. Unfortunately he will not have time to change after his shift so he wears his costume under his work apron. That'll be $10.21... Front Side Back It's somewhat minimalist as far as customs go but I did have to use Brasso to remove the print from the torso. That's right a poor Ashoka had to give her life for this creation. Somehow, I don't feel too bad. This is my first non-purist attempt at customizing but I guess I didn't stray from purism too far. Cost: The parts are pretty standard minifig parts. Brasso cost me about $5. I also used 3 sheets of paper to get the apron the way I wanted it and a few drops of printer ink for the logo. The original pics.
  19. Wow! Can't wait to see an entire layout with these. btw, you'll have to share the crime statistics of your lego city to show us if the crime rate went down after these lamps were installed.
  20. Well, I'll just have to prevent you from getting that win. DS sent.
  21. Diana's time will come, KDM. If CF doesn't accept my challenge, I would be glad to duel you. Just an open invitation, if anyone needs a match adjudicated just send me the DSs. I check EB pretty regularly throughout the day. Oh, and welcome Lelith (Pedro)! (Even though you're not a Hufflepuff.)
  22. Pardon my posting on an old topic but I have some info to share. This past weekend I took my first foray into the minifig customization arena and bought some Brasso. After putting my daughter to bed and getting everything the tutorial said I needed, I proceeded to put some Brasso on the pieces. I was surprised that it was much more liquidy than in the pictures but I thought, oh well, and continued on. I sat there scrubbing and scrubbing for the better part of an hour to get one torso done. Nowhere near as easy as in the tutorial. By the time I got done with two torsos, I was physically exhausted and very lightheaded from the smell even though I working next to an open door with a fan going. Looking at the bottle the next day, I figured out what was wrong. The liquidy stuff was at the top of the bottle with thicker stuff underneath. Apparently, metal polish does not fly off of store shelves and must have been sitting there a LOOONG time and separated. Moral of the story: Shake the Brasso bottle vigorously before using! Don't shake it like orange juice from the fridge but rather like you would a can of paint that has been sitting in your basement for years. Oh, make sure to hold the bottle closed while shaking. The thick part must be the gritty part that does most of the work. It was MUCH easier the second night after I spent a few minutes shaking the dang bottle. Just thought that maybe this should be added to the article at the top here as I'm sure other people have done the same bone-headed thing I have.
