2011 LEGO Boardgames News & Discussion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Oky's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for posting those, SpiderSpaceman. Looks simple enough that I might actually be able to get some regular people to play it with me but there's plenty of room for house rules, though, when I have gamer friends over. -
I'm going to get one for the well of my castle village. It's great news for me since I was thinking of ordering the old large bucket for that purpose off of bricklink but couldn't find a cheap enough one in a suitable color. From the pictures it looks like they're at a much better scale for minifigs, too. It's amazing that they designed it to look so good with a minifig holding it considering the range of arm motion.

They could do a petting zoo with farm animals... And maybe introduce an official sheep. One can dream, right?

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can adjudicate for anyone if needed. I'm also accepting willing victims to go up against Flashburn with his new buddy, Niles the attack frog. -
Very nice! Face and Hannibal especially both look exactly like they should. Does Murdock have the tiger on the back of his jacket?

Fort Legoredo and a few others

If only I had the money to spend. The western theme is one I always wanted since childhood... -

Back to Auror! Now I need a name for my pet... Good match, Oky, and thanks for adjudicating, KDM. -

Congratulations to both of you. It's well deserved. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm back. Tough weekend. 12 hours in a car with two kids under three, I think I have a sinus infection, and the whole family has pink eye. Times like these you wish you had a time machine so you could go back and knock some sense into yourself. Anyway... Won't anybody let you win, KDM? You're that close and no one will let you get the rest of the way... If you find an opponent willing to help you with that, I'm willing to Adj. for you. Sounds good to me. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It's so cruel that you're so close, KDM, but not quite there. Good match. Did you recognize my closing strategy? I could but I'm going away for the weekend starting in about an hour. I probably won't have access to a computer. If you guys are willing to wait until late Sunday EST... -

Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Funny but true. I keep wanting to delete the g out of every word I post that ends with -ing. I think I leave my character in a good place, though, so it's somewhat satisfying. I think a lot of the characters evolved nicely throughout the course of the game. I think Bob deserves most of the credit for coming up with them. He also was very good about letting us bring ourselves into them and not stopping us when we wanted to take them in unforeseen directions. Most of the time they were even worked back into the plot nicely without seeming thrown in. It was a very memorable experience. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the kind words, Bob. The game was a lot of fun, especially when we had people were participating. With the long stories, I tried to tie them in somehow into the conversation and as the game went on there seemed fewer opportunities for my character to go off on a tangent that didn't make him look uncaring about the seriousness of the situation. So all the cops could protect? Funny that brickme was the only one really not protecting himself and he was the one I thought was a communist. He even protected me one night it seems. So sorry about that brickme. One question, how did they get the body of Laura Jefferson out of the morgue? None of the communists would have had official access. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think Hinckley may be the only one able to get away with mod-killing Shadows. If I were running the game, I might be hesitant in mod-killing mods too. But replacing Draggy did seem like a hint added to Shadows' mysterious appearance late in the game with his accusation. I don't think you did anything necessarily wrong, Brickdoctor. You did very well being thrown in there late in the game. -
REVIEW: 30042 Mini Sub
CorneliusMurdock replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I almost picked up this set at Target a few weeks ago just for the crystal ball. I had just traded for the minifig head (which is awesome) so the crystal ball was the only thing pulling me to get it. Because of my budget I could only get one polybag so I decided on the Target Practice Kingdoms one instead. Your review almost makes me regret the decision. Almost. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It worked out really well for you considering those you "cleared" were some of your staunchest supporters in the final days. My mistake was in inferring that your ability had to be converting somehow. Probably made it seem to them that if they hadn't been converted then you must be innocent. I didn't think about you being a blocker because I hadn't really considered you actually forgetting to use your ability. I thought it had to be a limited use sort of thing. It also really helped you that a real investigator never came forward to dispute it with you. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There still had to be clues. In any case you did a good enough job deflecting all the logic thrown at you to win in the end. I was very ticked at the time when I presented my evidence against you and no one seemed to care. I probably should have kept at it anyway. So you blocked people, then? Were you not allowed to use it during chapter breaks or was that really an oversight? -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
You could help me get closer to Auror instead... I could take you on or adj. for whoever else would like to. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
So we did have an investigator? Was there another besides Maxwell? I'll be interested to know what the night actions of the communists were since I ended up blocking all of them during the course of the game with no results. -
Red Scare Mystery - Conclusion
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That was awesome, Bob! I look good in a suit. I told you guys I was the hero of this story. I got the girl and sailed off into the sunset. Now I'm Captain Falzone. I love the way you tied up the different threads for the characters. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Those wins still occurred. I do have a tally there of how many matches I need to win till the next level. That should suffice. Great match, Captain. You didn't lose by much. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 poll
CorneliusMurdock replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I chose the detective. As soon as I saw this series I knew I would have to get him. Luckily I've never felt the need to complete a series just to complete it. If there's a minifig I just don't care enough about, I won't go through the trouble of getting it. I came pretty close to completion with 3 and 4 just because they have so many ones I really like. Also luckily for my budget, there aren't a lot of series 5 that I feel the need to track down. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
CorneliusMurdock replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks Oky! Even if KDM isn't busy, he shouldn't have to adjudicate as often as he does it. DS sent. -
Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Fifteen
CorneliusMurdock replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'll stop Stevie from jumping in. As much fun as it would be to let him jump... It's outta our hands now, Stevie. Maybe when we make it to shore, we can catch up with 'em. Congressman, is that little boat of yours comin' back? How soon will reinforcements arrive?
