What would you pay extra for the box
Turaga of Force replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I definately perfer to get them sealed, because then I get the box for my collection (in other words, to throw in a pile in the garage) and I know that all of the pieces are the original pieces, not replacements from other sets, and in mint condition, but if its used, I don't care much about the box. Edit: To add to this, if I want, say, 10 rebel battle packs, and someone was selling them opened but in good condition for $5 each, I would get 1 sealed from the store, but the rest (assuming the person has enough) used. In this specific case I would probably just buy the minifigs after the first set, but that's beside the point. -
Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Turaga of Force replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, I keep all of my boxes, canisters, instructions, magazines, Shop@Home catalogs, advertisements, etc. -
Do you mean this piece? (click for picture) Assuming you mean that piece in chrome gold, Quidditch Practice includes one and the Target exclusive version of the Durmstrang ship includes 5, one of which is an extra. It isn't worth much though, people are selling them as low as 15 cents on BrickLink.

What is the $130 SW "Twilight' Set # 7680?
Turaga of Force replied to johnsocal's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I was wondering the same thing. I went to the starwars.wikia.com disambiguation or whatever page for Twilight and there were lots, including a ship and a bar... weird. -
Mars Mission aliens are one of the few things I actually hate about LEGO. I like the LoM martians, and the UFO and Insectoid aliens, but the "jellies" are just horrible...

Wow, that's awesome. A little small, and the passenger seats on the outside are a little off, but other than that, very well made! Nice job! 9.5/10

Another reason not to hide your LEGO fandom...
Turaga of Force replied to jedikermit's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow... you got a lot. Now all the more reason to let the world know I love LEGOs :P Everyone at school knows, if they hold it against me, and judge me bad for liking LEGO, well then they aren't worth my time, so who really cares? If they are fine with me liking LEGO then its fine that they know. So either way, who cares! If anything good things like this happen! Thanks for sharing the story and congrats on the stuff! -
Cool, but... how do you know?

Do red Darth Vader helmats really exist?
Turaga of Force replied to Lt. Veers's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hey, does anyone know how many bricks you need to order for a custom order? I am thinking of talking to my LUG about doing this. Thanks! -
Need help finding a part..
Turaga of Force replied to 5150 Lego's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Does the viking ship work for a canoe? And maybe you have tried this, but go to the minifig accessories section on BrickLink, in the parts section of the reference catalog. -
Create a new email address (use hotmail if you want an easy way) and then email BZP or make a new account, explaining why you have a dupe

In case this helps here is a guide I posted on my BrickShelf, to buying on BrickLink: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=216806

2001 and 2002 are by far the best. Toa Mata: the gears are awesome. Not only for play, but they look awesome too. I really want the gears back. And the McToran, true, are bad for MOCists, however they were promos... they dont have to be good for MOCists. And like your financial point with the mask packs, it takes more money (hiring designers etc) to make the Rahi more diverse, and its cool to have two. Say two brothers get a set cause they cant afford it on their own, they dont have as much of a fight over who gets what. And the mask packs were the best part. Collecting is really fun, and even if you don't get them all its still fun to collect. Mask packs, at least in 2001 were good money for LEGO. Otherwise why did they in 02 and 03? And the Kanohi Nuva had bigger molds so they weren't cheaper. And 2001 masks sold well cause they were center in story. And the colored tools really added to it. If you want a right color blade, you can make Tahu's or Kopaka's or Lewa's work, and Gali's and Onua's claws/hooks work if you want something shorter. I do, however, agree on the point of Piraka bodies. Axonn and Brutaka are some of the best sets ever. (I don't have Brutaka yet though) And come on, the story team is creative, they can come up with stuff. And I am not saying they should have necessarily stayed on Mata Nui, diversity is good, but 01-02 was still by far the best. And the new personalities are to counter-balance the 01 personalities for diversity. I don't think they are dull, but neither are the 01 characters. I agree with you on media though, its nice to have books, more games, etc. But LEGO had to first get the francise going. But ya the Maori stuff was bad on LEGO's part. 2001 and 2002 are by far the best, however I agree with all the issues you adressed in the media section. :) And I am not trying to flame you or putting down you/your opponions, just giving my thoughts :)

I visit his site sometimes yes he does have some really impressive models! I ordered some Star Wars decals from him once and those are very high quality too :)

I got a reply, here it is.

Hinckley -- I am definately not going to be a LEGO-basher, this is pretty much the only thing I have against them! They are coming out with some great sets, although not as good as those of the 90s. Still, Dwarves Mining looks so awesome... I will have to get one :)

Shipping from Netherlands to United States
Turaga of Force replied to legobear's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Based on my experience, 1 to 2 weeks. Maybe a little longer, depending on the size, weight, and shape of package, shipping method, and how quick the seller is at getting stuff sent out :) -
Try BrickLink :)

I'm glad someone agrees :) I think LEGO is just not keeping the customers as high of a priority as they used to, or as Ole would want them to.
-
LEGO always has been a very reputable company, keeping its fans and customers in its best interest. However, recently, there have been some lower-quality sets, such as the parts in Cafe Corner and Market Street, and the lime green Technic/BIONICLE joints. However, what is bothering me the most is the road plates. First, they are almost twice as much money as they used to be: $12.99 for a 2 pack instead of $6.99 for a 2-pack. (USD) This is understandable, as $6.99 is really cheap for 2 big baseplates, and everything (LEGO and otherwise) is going up in price.. But the main thing is that they package straights with crosses and curves with Ts. I think they are trying to get us, the customers and fans, to buy more by packing the commonly needed (straight and curve) with less useful pieces (cross and T), while they used to do 2 straights, 2 curves, 2 Ts, and 2 crosses. The Ts and curves are okay, because they are both used a bit but not that much, but when people want a lot of straight plates they are stuck with cross plates, which are hardly useful, that they paid $6.50 each for. This really frustrates me, especially since I am starting work on a LEGO city. I think I am going to buy my plates on BrickLink because of this. (as well as the fact that I perfer green to gray) What do you guys think? Edit: I contacted LEGO, and am awaiting a reply. Here is my message:

Unprinted metallic. I don't like printed, and I perfer metallic to pearl.
