Thanks for replying JCC, how do you like the Kingdoms sets? I almost took home the castle and prison tower tonight but I decided to leave it for tomorrow and do a little research first. Do you display all your collections? My problem is that I still have about 4-5 SW sets waiting to be built.. not to mention about 16 of the Clones battle packs.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed lately, if it has feel free to add to the existing thread.. About me: I collect a lot of Star Wars (mostly PT), and I mean a lot. I don't have a lot of shelf space left but I can squeeze in a little more if needed. I currently have about 2/3 of my SW collection on display and all my HP, Trains, and TECHNIC put away in bins. Now.. I'm thinking about buying and possibly building a small "army" of the Kingdoms figs/sets. TRU is having the BOGO sale this week so I could take advantage of that and buy the first 2 big sets of the line. I know that once I start this I'll have to finish it off, as well as buy the fall SW sets, and HP sets. This is going to hit my wallet AND shelf space. So I'm wondering if it's too much. I've never had the opportunity to have a decent Castle line so it's a little tempting right now. How many different themes do you AFOLS "juggle"?

These are *awesome*. I'm a big fan of the LAAT/c and /i, I like how you kept TLG's color scheme too. I was wondering, can the dropship "sit" on its own? A picture of the two ships side by side would be awesome too.
-
The cannon does fit inside the dropship once the spare missiles are taken out and the door is lowered 180 degrees. However, this is a real PITA and NOT worth the hassle. I'd just turn the cannon and be done with it.

Ok, I'm done with the second set. I'll post pictures of all the gunships together when I build them. For this second sticker I combined Agi's Trespass with Rayman's "template". Also added little things of my own. Here it is: And for those interested in printing it, here is the LINK.
-
Thanks but they're not my designs Kim. I got them from your link! And sorry about the confusion. I have 2 built Gunships with Lego's provided nose art. I have 2 other ones I have yet to build (will do those this morning), and those will get the custom stickers.

These are awesome. I would go out of my way to show these. Only around my close friends though. And to work. Thanks for the review!!

Ok, I'm happy enough with these results to make them "permanent" to one of my MISB Gunships. Minor tweaking, but I find these, with the bolder lines are much more accurate dimensions wise to the actual size of the slope. To the artist: thank you for making this

Republic Gunship - 7676 production Length
Sid replied to AMuller396's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
This has to be in my top 5 favorite SW sets. I own a few of these. They're hard to find in stores, but there's a hidden TRU in my area that a lot of people must not visit because they had 5 last night. It's definitely worth picking up. It brings very good and valuable figs, too. Assajj Ventress / Plo Koon / Cody. -
Thanks it is ust an ordinary printer. It's one of the newer Hewlett Packard's that has the scanner built in. It retails for $120, I'm surprised they came out good. I'm very proficient with Photoshop so I can tweak designs here and there. I'll continue this project when I get home today. And for those wondering about the paper: it's the Avery one.

Hello all, I was really taken aback by this thread and decided to take action and print my own. I bought both white sticker sheets and clear sticker sheets. I had to alter the following design somewhat to fit the slope from corner to corner. In the future I'll be making my own designs but I really like all the ones posted as well. Below are the results: Left: Clear sticker Middle: White Right: Original White: Clear: (My favorite, and the one I'll be using for following applications I know the designs don't match up exactly with the Gunship, these were done in somewhat of a hurry this afternoon and I just wanted to see how it would turn out. I'll be "modifying" some of these tomorrow to match up exactly with the colors and lines of 7676.

this is great. I had seen some of these floating around the internet, but wasn't aware of this thread. Has anyone made these into decals? and if so, how? Pictures would be great. If I could make some of these into stickers I'd pick up yet another RGS or two.

What is the hardest Lego set you have ever built?
Sid replied to SharkMan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's cool, how long did it take? I don't think I'd have the patience to do that. Unless I was in a plane and had nothing else to do. Anyway, like others have said, I haven't found any set particularly hard to build, and I've built a lot from Technic to System. The one that did take me the longest to build was the 10030 UCS Star Destroyer at 18 hours. This was back in 2002 when I was 15. -
Is anyone else craving a Luminara? I'm surprised Lego hasn't released a CW version. Come on TLG, I would rather not pay $50 for one.
-
Not sure if this goes here, but will LEGO ever release another Luminara? I really want one. But would rather not pay $50 for one.
-
I have to agree with Rufus on the figs - a back story would definitely help, because these sure aren't Clones. Cool looking Gunship though.

Just ended up ordering on BL. Thanks Palms

Hi guys, do any of you have this set and wouldn't mind selling it / trading it? I have Darth Vader's TIE / Y-Wing from 2004 for trade. Let me know I'm in FL

pictures would help

Unfortunately the landing gear doesn't retract - I spent all day yesterday trying to work this out, and in the end the ship is just too heavy for the hinges to move freely while supportingt the weight of the ship (which is quite heavy, it's a solid construction). It'd be neat if the landing gear moved up and down vertically, but then I'd be sacrificing the interior of the ship to make room for the legs to go inside. It's just a display model with the occasional "swoosh" and landing, so I don't mind it. Thanks to everyone for the comments

Review: Chrome Storm Trooper Toys R Us polybag promo
Sid replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Star Wars
These look amazing. Much better than I had thought. I went to TRU tonight but sadly they had run out. I'll try again at my other local stores. Instead, the cashier offered me a red wizard lego keychain - no thanks. I'm not paying your marked up price (of $2 on a battle pack) for a keychain. Needless to say I came home empty handed. -
I agree, this is awesome. I don't like droids and I'd buy this if it came in a battle pack.
-
Thank you, it is very clever of you to know what piece I used for the "feet." I have just modified the rear landing gear slightly, by replacing the white 1x2 (in front of the tan round 1x1) with 2 other tan 1x1s - it made a big difference in the "look'. I will post a picture in a bit as I'm running out for an errand. The big changes are of course the handle, but apart from that - the rear third of the ship has been moved back by 1 stud to make room for the handle and the escape pods have been rotated - in the original, you notice the studs are facing up.
-
I knew when I bought this set that I had at least two things to do: make it "swooshable" with ease, and add some kind of landing gear. These were my main two objectives and I'm pretty happy with it now. I made so many changes here and there it'll be hard for me to explain exactly what I did, or to even give instructions. However, I hope these pictures speak for themselves. If you have this set, you'll notice the differences immediately. For those who don't, here's the review. Here's an overall shot: right away you notice the differences between the official model and mine: It's pretty balanced when picked up by the "handle". [note: the green/yellow technic parts are for demonstration only) The landing gear: The handle connected to the frame: Underneath: EDIT: made minor change to the rear landing gear: Thanks for looking!

I didn't bother to see what the minifig section had, it was surrounded by little kids and their parents. I'll just have to order from BL or through the online PAB. I did notice a lot of Harry [Potter] heads though.
