  1. The minifig leak shows Ron in a green jacket and Harry in his oversized hand-me-down clothes which look either the same or updates to what they wear in the Collectors’ Edition Hogwarts Express set on their way to Year One. Since there are no rumors about another Hogwarts Express set this year I wonder what sets those figs are from. Diagon Alley Quiditch and icecream shops?
  2. She wasn't necessarily referring to Dan, Rupert and Emma. The tweet said which "actor/actress" [singular] ruins a movie for you." The phrase "three guesses" usually means "my voice is so obvious that you'll get the person I'm thinking of in maximum three guesses" not "I have three people in mind."
  3. I would love to see them too but they weren't even considered an important enough part of the silhouette to be included in the theme park version of the castle. But given that we're gotten the training grounds tower and we're getting the greenhouses soon, it's a hopeful sign that we'll get the bell towers and the long gallery to complete that side of the castle.
  4. JJMly trues out attaching it to the connection points on the Great Hall, but comes to the conclusion (like the rest of us) that it will look better connected to a different part of the castle, in the future. As for whether we'll see the Clock Tower-- the fact that it wasn't included in either microscale sets doesn't rule out the possibility of its release. Both the Training Grounds Tower and the Owlery weren't on those either but still were released. And neither of those are as iconic as the Clock Tower.
  5. In the video games for the 5th and 6th years it's repurposed to be the Viaduct Entrance, though I feel it's unlikely that when that set arrives it will use up one of castle's interior sections for a staircase
  6. They did the Magical Trunk set a few years back which was kinda like this— though the price was bulked up by the pieces to build the trunk itself
  7. Yes that's very possible. This is what Training Grounds tower looks like by Half-Blood Prince. It mostly looks like one of the Bell Towers, but there is still a bit of Alnwick Castle remaining. Hopefully that would mean getting the Transfiguration Courtyard too at some point since the Training Grounds tower is right on the corner of it.
  8. Hi, I made the original post on Reddit, with an image from this Hogwarts Re-creation blog. The image shows the Hogwarts training grounds area based on Alnwick Castle, which was one of the main filming locations in the first two movies. This section shrinks down in later movies. I posted the Chamber of Secrets version since it was the best view of the area I could find if the back of the castle and it is very similar to the layout in the first movie (mainly with the addition of the Whomping Willow) One red circle was representing where the Flying Lesson scene takes place in the film, which is the four-cornered gatehouse type building that had the statue with the spear that Neville gets hooked on. The other circle is the more likely part of the castle that the set will actually connect to, though considering that the set is a generalized representation of two towers and a wall from Alnwick, it could also end up connecting at the far back corner by the green house. I think just like the other Hogwarts waves, we will wait to wait until the all sets are released before we have the full shape of their intended layout.
  9. Exactly. The D2C set is a hybrid of Diagon Alley from the first, second and sixth film, whereas this new set is the layout from just the sixth (and the Studio Tour in London). This is DA from the film Chamber of Secrets For the D2C Lego set, Flourish and Blotts was put in the Second-hand bookshop space and Olivanders was restored back to where it was in Philosopher's Stone near Gringotts. Weasley Wizard Wheezes was put where Gambol and Japes Joke is (since they bought the store in Half-Blood Prince). The entrance to Knockturn Alley was kept between the book store and joke shop as seen in Chamber of Secrets. This entrance was moved in Half-Blood Prince film to be on the the end of the street by Gringotts. The Gringotts D2C and Owl Post sets are inspired by the DA layout at Universal Studios Wizarding World theme park in Florida, where Magical Menagerie is next to Gringotts. I don't believe Owl Post is even seen in any of the films so its design is straight from the park.
  10. I saw that the shop arrangement matched the film set at the Studio Tour in London and from that was able to identify most of the buildings. Borgrin and Burkes was the trickiest to identify since that spot in the film set is just a wall with the start of a passageway. I rewatched the beginning of Half-Blood Prince and realized that the passageway was the ones to Knockturn Alley, which is different from Chamber of Secrets film where it was between the book store and joke store (Second-Hand Books and Gamble and Jape's in the film, but Flourish and Blotts and Weasley Wizard Wheezes in the USC Lego set and also referenced in this one)
  11. Flying Lesson set has an image of the Charm's Class fitting inside too, for a more accurate placement.
  12. Be patient. It took until the very end of the wave for the green roof sets to resemble the full castle. This collection is really just getting started. I’m sure they are saving the large iconic buildings like Grand Tower and Viaduct Entrance entrance for the summer releases.
  13. There's also the fact that the position of shops in Diagon Alley not only changes from film to film, but the version in the Orlando theme park has its own layout as well. Once we get clearer images I'll try and see which version it matches the closest, or if it's an amalgamation of several different versions.
  14. Usually a written description comes first from someone who's seen images, before the images themselves leak.
  15. Crazy to compare with the set from 2005 that managed to capture the exterior design, the same three interior sections, plus the skiff and Sarkac Pitt. And as a bonus there was alternate build for Jabba’s palace. All for under $100!
  16. Disappointing to see that the back is blank, but I had suspected as much when the box art didn't show the reverse side. Also, when I saw the offical write up: "It features a Lucius Malfoy minifigure and a brick-built interior section of Borgin & Burkes." Hopefully the colon in the set name is an indication that we will see another, more realized set for Borgin and Burkes, complete with an exterior facade and an interior with a vanishing cabinet, that this one can attach to.
  17. Saw the post on Insta and it was formatted: Which makes me wonder if Flying Lesson and Charms class are two sets or actually just one? Flying on the outside, charms on the inside?
  18. I think it really is, as described, the most detailed version of the Great Hall yet and overall the largest in terms of combined height and width. The only details I can spot that are missing from previous versions are the owl lectern (seen in the 2021 set) and a fireplace (seen in most versions except 2010). However, the advent calendar comes with a buildable fireplace so based on the packaging the idea is that we can add that and other details to the set. As far as the rest of the plans, we can see from the preview image that the rest of the modular castle will feature, at the very least, the Great Tower, the Quad Lookout Tower, the Viaduct and the Viaduct Entrance. It remains to be seen if we will get new versions of the iconic Clock Tower and Astronomy Tower. There's also always hope that we will see the East Gallery, Bell Towers and Transfiguration courtyard but those remains as long-shots.
  19. The smaller image was just smooshed to fit in the box art. The larger image in the instruction manual had two pages to show a less compressed layout. They both show the outlines of the same structures (Great Hall, Grand Tower, Quad Wall with Lookout Tower, Viaduct with Entrance, and Owlery).
  20. When the designers showed that the Barad Dur-tower section was modular and could be stacked it made me curious how the scale compared to the tower as shown in the film. I made a few size comparisons in photoshop. As it turns out the Lego Model is very much in scale with the film model, except, yes, the top section of the tower should be a bit taller. But not two sections worth. More like .5 section worth. So good news for those wondering if you'd have to buy two of these sets to make it the a more accurate size. Much cheaper to brick-link the extra parts you'd need, as it is only for half of that one tower module.
  21. It’s actually kind of nice to not have to squint over blurry leaked pictures and go straight to hi-res product images— assuming there’s still no leaks before tomorrow.
  22. Speaking of Advent Calendar I had never seen what Great Hall 75954 looked like with the Yule ball accessories from 75981 Advent Calendar and the ball sections of 75948 Clock Tower. This is what they looked like combined https://i.imgur.com/56DZJXn.png
  23. The Advent Calendar box says "compatible with 76435" and while one could obviously swap out the tables and the contents on top of them, I wonder if that set has room for the statues and fireplace too. Speaking of statues, the ones of the badger and lion look like reared-up caterpillars.
  24. Imagine if they released a few different Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom modules that you could swap out depending on which Year/Teacher you wanted for your castle.
  25. I agree, I'm not seeing the compatibility. The hat is as tall as the figure!
