I had been collecting LEGO for over a year. Needed the money and sold the entire collection. Of all hobbies I've been in, this was for me one that you could do by yourself and still have fun. I never acted my age when playing with them. Wasn't playing really. More like thinking of silly scenes or MOCs. They really put a smile on my face and I miss that. So, I'm back at it. I love the idea of MOCs but how on earth do you come up with so many bricks to do it with? THe good news is that most of the ones that I liked and sold are still available. I wasn't able to find the bbq stand chef So ordered him off ebay for 7.00 I tried to be more then fair on my prices when I sold them so I hope that comes back to me. Well, glad to be back! I am so sorry! In my excitement to be back I overlooked there was a thread for this. Would a mod please move this? Sorry about this. Legononymous Legononymous

I'm out! Selling my LEGOS
Legononymous replied to Legononymous's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
That's actually a really good idea. lol I love them all so much I had didn't want to separate them. All or nothing kinda deal. If I want to really sell them then break them up I shall. I'll be doing that within the next few days then. Thanks for the idea. :) -
I'm not even sure what to ask for the whole shebang. I listed it on Craigslist but don't expect to have much luck. I'm located in wichita kansas and hope to find a buyer local. Wouldn't have a clue how to ship this large collection. I have several sets. Only built once and displayed. All in excellent shape maybe minus some dust. Also have several Star Wars minifigures that were included in a used purchase that I bought recently. The minifigures are in good shape but can't say that every brick is. Several containers and additional bags with bricks and mis parts. I have pictures listed elsewhere. Not sure how to do them here. I'm not savy with computers. If interested email me at hardcore1954@yahoo.com and I'll send ya the link I have all that's listed below complete!!! Then a bunch of loose bricks 7635 4WD with Horse Trailer 7732 Air Mail 7195 Ambush in Cairo 7595 Army Men on Patrol Two Sets 8398 BBQ Stand 7639 Camper 6239 Cannon Battle 7990 Cement Mixer 8401 City Minifigure Collection 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter and Life Raft 8122 Desert Viper 7079 Drawbridge Defence 7631 Dump Truck 7040 Dwarves' Mine Defender 6754 Family Home 4994 Fierce Creatures 5970 Freeze Ray Frenzy 7630 Front-End Loader 7991 Garbage Truck 7078 King's Battle Chariot 6177 LEGO Basic Bricks Deluxe 6241 Loot Island 8073 Manta Warrior 7942 Off-Road Fire Rescue Two Sets 7737 Off-Road Vehicle and Jet Scooter 8397 Pirate Survival 7236 Police Car Two sets 7743 Police Command Center 5612 Police Officer 7245 Prisoner Transport 8120 Rally Sprinter 8968 River Heist 8072 Sea Jet 7682 Shanghai Chase 3177 Small Car 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack Two Sets 8396 Soldier's Arsenal 6242 Soldiers' Fort 8402 Sports Car 5969 Squidman Escape 6743 Street Speeder 8119 Thunder Racer 7638 Tow Truck 8121 Track Marshal 7634 Tractor 7567 Traveler 7038 Troll Assault Wagon 7733 Truck & Forklift 8057 Wreck Raider I really hate having to do this. Hope someone else can take advantage of it and we can work out a deal.

Would be nice if the lego animals had movable legs. I like this set though.

REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot
Legononymous replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I had been to TRU a few times checking out this set but passed due to the price. I always felt is was over priced. TRU over the weekend had a buy one get one 50% off on most of their LEGO sets. So making this $10.00 it became more then tempting. It was a done deal! Very pleased with it for the amount I paid. -
I really like the fact that the horse is pose able. Not sure why the actual LEGO cows, bulls, horses...etc are not. Good job!

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Legononymous replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had always liked LEGO but the prices ( for whatever reason ) always kept me away. I'm a hands on kind of guy but not a mechanical kind. I love working with my hands. Making Halloween props and stained glass. Bought this house two and 1/2 years ago mainly due to it having a big garage and I had 54 chevy that I wanted to " tinker " on. Well at the same time I had a health issue getting worse that required me wearing a weight reducing boot on my right ( gas pedal here in the states ) foot. I knew If it wasn't too far gone I'd have to have surgery or have it amputated if it wasn't fixable. It came to where I wasn't very mobile anymore. Sold my 54 as it was a stick and bought an XBOX 360 and new TV. Still wasn't content sitting and doing nothing. That's when I got into LEGO. It was nice to be into something I couldn't screw up. Never had much luck with models. LEGO you just follow the instructions and you have a nice item to display. I began " collecting " whatever I liked that was for sell at my local TRU or Wal Mart...etc. For me it passed the time. I had got the diagnoses that amputation was in my future and felt the need to make sure I had things to do here at the house as I would be home bound for a while after the surgery. I wanted to buy something I wanted really bad to carry me through so to speak. Something to look forward to when it was all said and done and I was out of the woods as they say. So I searched and found LEGO City Set #7245 Prisoner Transport. I think I ended up paying 30 for it. My surgery was Wed July 1, 2009. Was in the hospital til Friday the 3rd. Into rehab I went! The night I knew I was going home the next day I had my wife bring up my prized LEGO set #7245 and I opened the box. Still didn't put it together but sure admired the bags! My surgery went well! I kicked butt in rehab and did it in a week where it's usually two. Got my prosthetic leg and skipped rehab for that! I'm truly blessed! Fast forward--- I promise this all ties in!!! You can't visit me and not know I'm not into LEGO it's in tubs in my living room. On a shelf in the kitchen. I was putting a clean pair of shorts on and found a LEGO brick in my pocket. VERY clean now! One found it's way into my wifes Nutty Bar box. A bag of them that I had been sorting found it's way off this sofa table and into a scrapbooking kit that I take to my mom's house once a month. Had I been able to predict the future a house with a big garage would NOT have been a priority. An extra room or two would have! I can't say I'm real open about this particular hobby. My friends know and I've even gotten one into them. Not with the passion I have yet but she's bought more then a few sets. I've tried to start a LEGO group here where I live and had no luck yet there. My wife is HUGE in being supportive. I haven't gotten her to cross over yet and I doubt I will. She likes them and looks at the catalog and talks about sets but I just don't think she'll get into them like I am. She's not big into hobbies in general but sure supports mine! I've actually crossed over from collecting to wanting to MOC. I seem to be way more inspired by that then just buying a set and putting it together. Now I feel as though I'm playing catch up on everything I missed out on. Good way to go broke! I'm amazed and feel so giddy inside when I see some of the amazing MOCs here. Even the small ones. I'm a ways from having the LEGO needed to do anything major but I'll get there. Slowly but surely. I figure I'll be selling some of my sets and focusing on what I want to MOC with. We'll see. I'm still am in awe at how much I like LEGO. -
The MOCS I think are what has endeared me to this hobby of LEGO collecting. I can't describe how tickled I get looking at these MOCS and the detail involved in making them. I'm not sure if I'll ever amass the amount of LEGO bricks needed to attempt a larger one of my own but from what I've seen it's skill I'll need to acquire first. This one is well thought out and put together. As already said, I wish this was a set one could purchase. I didn't see the safe as someone has mentioned. Did I just miss it?

I have so much to learn. You do some great mocs!. Sure hope you do another one with a how you made it. I'm really curious about the bridge.

I'm looking to make my first BrickLink purchase. I'm looking into the minifigures. Some have good condition while others don't have any kind of condition other then used. How do you know without having to ask for each item you're interested in buying? I'm also confused about the money exchange etc. Can't wait to start buying cowboys, bandits and pirates as well as blocks. Just don't want to screw this up.

Mos Eisley Cantina 4501 Jabba's Palace
Legononymous replied to Legononymous's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Ultimately I'd prefer to trade for what I'm looking for. Seems to be the only way I'm going to get the older sets I've missed out on. I hate playing catch up! I thought about bricklink but it seems like there are already many of the same thing on there. I might try a few items on there and see how I do. I just want to enjoy this hobby. It'd be nice if I could find a way for it to pay for itself. I'm so inspired by the mocs that I have seen here. I just don't have enough bricks yet to do anything major. I'll get there. -
Mos Eisley Cantina 4501 Jabba's Palace
Legononymous replied to Legononymous's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I can see where you would have gotten confused. I didn't explain myself very well. I edited and hope that makes more sense. Thank you for your reply -
I bought a large lot of LEGO mixed in with MB and mis other items. I've been weeding out the MB and mis. Included were several instruction booklets for the LEGO as well as minifigures. Some of the parts and figures match certain sets. I haven't finished sorting enough to know if I have any complete sets. I'm still trying to put what pieces I come across into individual bags with matching instructions and figures. What I'm wondering is for example should I sell Leia with Jabba as they are from the same set and Greedo with the Dewback as they are from the same set or sell them individual? I have most of the figures including Greedo and the Dewback. I'm now looking into how much of the actual set I have. I also have parts from Jabba's Palace. Jabba, Leia and I'm not sure yet how much of that set as well. I'm not big into Star Wars at this time so will be trading these off for Castle, Pirate, City...etc Or selling them in general . What I'm wanting to know is will getting as much of these sets together as possible bring me the most money/trade or will doing it separately ? Sorry if this was in the wrong area. As I'm just looking for advice I wasn't sure which area to post it in. Thanks a bunch.

I think your best bet would be to build small MOCs periodically. You'd make more in the long run as more people could afford to bid on them and your start up cost would be a lot less. I've seem some awesome MOCS that I would LOVE to have. You'd be able to do more and your average Joe could afford to bid on them.

A hair dryer on low heat helps to remove the stickers as well.

All of my sets are complete. I've only taken them apart for a few MOCs. I'm thinking I need to buy a bigger home with an extra room or basement. lol I haven't gotten to the point yet where I can just take them apart and have them in bags. Nor can I mix the used LEGO ( ones I've bought from other people ) in with the new sets that I have. Don't know that I'll ever pull that one off. One thing I do however is keep my minifigs in little baggies. None spend time in their actual vehicles or planes. Not sure why I do this either.

Very cool sets. The one I really want though is graveyard Duel.

This is actually the thing that got me hooked on LEGO was taking pictures of them. I never seem to tire from looking at peoples pictures of them. They always seem to tell a story. There a name for this? Legoghaphy? Photego? lol Awesome pictures. My favorite one was the two using the cell phone. One to jump on the buttons to dial the number and the other to watch the screen to see if it was dialed correctly. I imagine they were calling for a ride out of there or a pizza. lol

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Legononymous replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Can't wait to buy these! They are taking cues after the Urban Vinyl toy craze. Same concept. Place them in unmarked bags ( usually inside a box as well ) I'm almost certain these will be complete characters. Not complete mixed figures. Complete mixed parts making one figure would only lead to frustration and will kill the potential for these to become collectibles. I can see the value of these going up considerably however, The only downfall that can happen with these is to not use the same quality of figure in which we're already used to. I'd rather pay extra if need be to insure a better product. I won't enjoy them if they aren't of the same quality I'm already collecting. -
I'm really enjoying the searching and learning process of this all. I have some really cool figures like Greedo, Jabba The Hutt and others., I hate that someone had a chewing problem and used teeth to pull pieces apart. Some pieces bare the scars. I ended up with a lot of Mega Blocks too. They don't seem to be worth much but I'll sell those if I can. I think I like collecting the mini-figs more then I do the LEGO themselves. I'm wanting to try my hand at some more MOCs down the road so the bricks will come in handy. I've always been a collector but this one I think I get the most enjoyment from. Thank you everyone for your responses and advice :)

I responded to an ad of someone selling LEGO. Ended up buying their whole childhood collection. He was only around 17 so they weren't that old. Mostly Stars Wars. I'm still trying to figure out what all is in there. I found all the mini-figs to 7190. I know for sure parts of the 7190 kit. I just hope it's all there. The NHL 3678 is in there along with the mini-figs. I found the mini-figs for 4480. There's bags of instructions for those and more. I just hope I can replace any missing pieces to the sets. I'm not a big Star Wars Fan but I do like some of the figures. If nothing else I'll use these to swap for what I really want. The ad mentioned a container with these dimensions 181/2" L X 187/8"W X 8"H and a container that is 18.5 gallons. There was a bunch of mis stuff in there too, as well as mega blocks. So I'm in the process of weeding all of that out. There was a lot more LEGO then I expected. What I'm having trouble with is how do you know which body parts go with which mini-figs? I'm going by the instructions for the most part. Getting the number off of them and looking them up online for the mini-figure number. Then trying to match the body parts that way. It's a fun deal but going to be a long process. Some of the bricks need cleaned as well. Have any idea on how to do this? Pics will be coming soon if I'm able and can figure out how. lol

I hope this hasn't been done before. But... You know you are a LEGO addict when you put part of it together in the bag because you're in too big of a hurry to wait until you get home and you don't want to lose any pieces.
-
I was pretty new to collecting LEGO , still am compared to some here. Just had a few sets and while on the way home from buying Pirate Survival put the little pirate together in the bag. I think that's the one I did. It's nothing spectacular but I at the time thought it was funny. I couldn't wait until I got home and didn't want to lose any of the pieces in the car. So didn't open the bag.

What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?
Legononymous replied to Sisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm thankful I read this. I was unaware that I was wrongfully using and spelling the word LEGO. I'll do my best to work on that. I do know one thing. I'm hooked!!!
