8043 Excavator - Lego update
zyrex replied to tomacwhite's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, I've sent Lego an email too now, just to let 'em now about more people with the issues. I noticed the local store doesn't stock it anymore either. I'll get some rubber bands in the meantime ;) Oh, and the slewing of the superstructure goes without issues on my set, actually. Smooth as silk, only problem is the main boom. -
Ebay fails me... And how to trust Bricklink?
zyrex replied to Artifex's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've bought several sets and assorted bricks on Bricklink, all sets have been complete and I've gotten all the bricks I've ordered. The one time I was missing some pieces, the seller quickly sent them to me :) 100% positive buying rate on BL until now :) -
Well, I don't get this though. I'm at home now, using another wifi connection, and now it shows up correct.. Sorry to bother you
-
Using v1.7.5 now and I have a problem, it don't show the local currency for Bricklink searches. I get the correct S@H price in NOK, but the Bricklink prices are in USD. This is over wifi, btw.

I mentioned this on the first page already ;)

I am very excited now! Can't wait for more pictrures, bigger pictures :)

All this talk reminds me of 5590 Whirl and Wheel Supertruck, my definite favourite - though it's not System/Classic Town/Town. But it's a great set none the less with the same basic idea.

I tried PM'ing you, but got the message "The member can not use the messaging system"... Problably some rules on the board. But you can email me at mynick @ mynick dot org ...
-
I understand.. At least S@H would give me a hint, though. Again today, I was at a store, price looked alright, and I checked with the app - 349 SEK ^^ Well, 299 NOK seemed okai then. Would love it though if you could compile a special app, all Tele2 users in norway would :]
-
I have another request, though. I'm in Norway, and use Tele2. Tele2 uses swedish IP-addresses when I surf over 3G, which in turn gives me swedish prices.. Any possibility to set a currency? So I can choose NOK and it'll always show me prices in NOK?
-
@happymark: The online instructions were a bit better, but they still had the first couple of missing pages, but the last pages were okai. Frustrating! :P
-
I finally was able to snap a photo of the offending pages... But I got it finished at least :P
-
Tried my first bag build today, I see it's already been featured but anyhow.. Was fun! A little more challenging than it would've been :P
-
Looks awesome, as soon as I get my Android in the mail this'll be one of the first apps I'll download ;) I thought I found a good deal once in the store, turned out I paid $31 more than S@H-price..
-
It happends now and then.. Just call the customer support and they'll ship you a new one :) edit: or check this one out http://us.service.lego.com/en-GB/replacementparts/default.aspx

Looking good! Finally the standard theme uses the whole screen real estate, good for us with big monitors/high resolutions.. Is it possible to add a quick reply-function, I wonder...
-
Wow, by the sounds of it, I am going to want this one!

LEGO Doublebrick-2010 exhibition
zyrex replied to Night City Dream's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
wow, so many nice buildings - some of the streets were really nice, clean and simple and truthlooking.. no mocking about or overfilled sidewalks. I can dig this. I recognized some of the buildings from posts here on the forum too ^^ Too bad about the railings, people were standing so far away from the bricks :P -
Hmmmm! Not so sure about breaking up the official sets, unless I buy more of them. I do have a lot of loose lego lieing around to build with and make MOCs but I just haven't had the time. I don't have my lego where I live, I just visit there every now and then, which doesn't leave much time left to building. The summer vacation will be good though for building ^^

I built the american house, sorry, forgot to mention that :) (http://gwareth.org/gallery/mypics/Lego/City/P1020601.JPG.html) I have not checked the other houses, and I'm far far away from where I built my lego at the moment so I can't check. I can post some images next time I'm there :)

I got the 4956 House the other day and started building it. When I got to step 11 and was going to start step 12, I see that the next step is not number 12, but number 4! And it continues through step 5, 6, 7, etc again up until step 11 once more before it jumps from step 11 to step 20. Pretty much impossible to build it, I'd say. Fortunately the instructions on lego.com was usable, but even they had some mistakes in them. But they were small, so they didn't disrupt the building process. Have any of you experienced anything like this? A good number of steps actually missing from the instructions? Disclaimer: I know 4956 is old-ish, but FYI I bought it MISB from my local store, so it wasn't tampered with :P

Thanks guys ;) ACCURATEin: Well, I have a lot of buying and building to do to reach you :P I just received the Fire Brigade the other night. It will be a lovely addition to my town. Now, where to put it ^^
-
Thanks :) Yeah, it's asphalt from the olden days, just waiting to be resurfaced :} As for the name of the town, it's because the Mayor is swimming around in the pond by the house ;)
-
Thanks :) Yeah, you're right about the road plates.. I'm slowly switching out the old ones for the new ones, but I don't like the price :P One problem with old VS new sets is that the police station looks a tad small compared to the houses :P

Hi! My town/city is a good mix of old 80's and 90's sets and some new sets to complement it :P I came out of my dark ages a couple of months ago and started rebuilding my old sets. Some parts I found, some were missing, some had been painted :( and some were broken. I played hard, it seems :P But most of my bricks were there and in an alright condition. Some of my sets are still unbuilt, but it's slowly coming back to its old pride :) Overview! Every town needs a pizzeria! This one does deliveries. Here's the local gang hangout AKA Hot rod club The little park, often visited by the cute girl and her boombox ..and every little incident is recorded and broadcasted live The suburbs.. This family uses their vacation camper often, judging by the shape of the camper :P A tad worn down.. The police headquarter! All facilities, big budget, small town. Check out the man in the middle upper window, Ducktown takes integration seriously! The ambulance is borrowing a parking spot. Another pizzeria! Known hangout place for the local hot rod gang and bicycle gang. Conveniently situated. Respect the speed limits! Thanks for looking! A firebrigade is on its way!
