  1. Went on a little spending spree and picked up: 7937 Train Station 8403 City House 8404 Public Transport ...AND 2824 City Advent Calendar
  2. There are many people who would love to get ahold of some extra little pieces, especially cheese slopes. If anything, save them in a ziplock and put them with the rest of your collection. You never know when you might need/want them and you might kick yourself later for throwing them out.
  3. I agree and that is because I also created an elevated rail and as time progressed my supports became larger. Here are some of my pics from Brickworld to help you out. I do have to say the new passenger train as an elevated rail train looks nice.
  4. Borders enticed me with a 40% off coupon so I picked up Woody's Roundup for $32.
  5. I completely agree with this statement. I can't count the number of times I have asked employees about the stock of certain parts or sets and they have always been helpful and kind.
  6. Yeah, I couldn't pass it up. Add to that the level crossing and another tanker truck today. I think I'm done buying for the next month but we'll see how long that lasts.
  7. I feel like I am double posting but I made another visit to Toys R Us (damn your BOGO 50% off coupon) but I picked up two Toys R Us trucks and two Cargo Trains. My LEGO collection thanks me. I think I need to give my wallet a break but I saved almost $100 so I can't complain.
  8. I picked up two of them from Toys R Us today in Illinois (more specifically North Riverside Toys R Us)
  9. Picked up two more Beach Houses at Toys R Us using the buy one get one 50% off coupon
  10. Snagged two more 6754 Family Homes at Toys R Us since they have the buy one, get one 50% off sale. Never hurts to have more tan brick.
  11. I haven't done airsoft in a couple years but I own a Classic Army M15A4. I upgraded the internals and had it shooting around 380-390 FPS. 400 was the field limit at all the places I played in Illinois and Indiana. I was part of a team for a little while but when my gun broke I pretty much got out because I thought it was too expensive to fix. In retrospect the cost to fix the gun is about that of the Grand Emporium so who knows, maybe I'll get back into it.
  12. Here is my version of the Sig Fig pic Here are a bunch of pictures from the event. I tried my best to give credit to MOC's that I either knew or that had MOC cards that were legible in the picture. Please help me fill out the rest. I think you need a Facebook account to comment but not to view the pictures (assuming I set the privacy settings correctly). Enjoy! 13. For those of you Town and City fans, are you a collector of the Creator Homes? I have collected all of the ones pictured above. I keep one as a set and buy multiple ones for parts. If so, is it merely for the pieces, or do you find yourself adding these structures to your Tabletowns? I have them sitting aside from my layout and that is only because my layout is a modular-based city and the houses don't fit in just yet. Maybe when I expand out to a suburb. I own six of the Family Houses and that is just for the tan brick and the fact that Toys R Us likes to have buy one get one 50% off sales. Are Creator Homes too different than Exclusive Modular sets or 'open-back structures' to tie in nicely? I wouldn't say that they are too different but it depends on what your city is like. I have created more of a downtown area and therefore these sets don't fit in just yet.
  14. Brickworld was incredible. This was my first year at Brickworld and my first Lego convention ever. I can honestly say I was not prepared for the experience. I have read through all of the threads from BW’s previous but that does not do them justice. If anyone is on the fence about attending they should come. The man I have to thank the most is Adam (stash). He is the guy who convinced me to come and he was so right. I was part of the collaborative train display with Ben Coifman and the Kearby family. As everyone has said, the best part of BW is meeting everyone in person. Thanks to Adam I was able to meet a lot of cool people. The international folks: CopMike, Quarryman, I Scream Clone, the Quantas guys. The MOCPages guys, IndyLUG guys, PennLUG guys, so many people. After hours was by far the best part of the event and the tea was free-flowing. I need to get some of my own RAM next year since; apparently, Bud Light is not a beer. All I know is that if you truly want to experience BW then you will need to sacrifice sleep but in the long run it is totally worth it. I am already looking forward to next year.
  15. The cartoonists must be some what recent LEGO builders too since they used a cheese slopes.
  16. Don't forget Futurama is in the year 3000+ so we won't see flesh colored bricks in our lifetime lol
  17. Found this in the first new episode of Futurama.
  18. I know how you feel. I'm the same way. I'll be lucky to be done by Thursday.
  19. Stalking me huh? Yeah, I'm always down for some good deep dish. But I believe the t-shirt was Join the Dark Side...We have cookies. Either way I'm in.

    NHL fans?

Hawks win again tonight! Two is the magic number.
  23. I like the way you finished this building off. Looking forward to seeing it and your others at Brickworld.
  24. If you are looking for a more realistic Shell station I built this a few months back but believe me, there is no chance this thing would sell for less than $100 even if you get rid of the brick-built surface. Shell Station

    WIP: My Town

UPDATE The large area where construction was happening is now filled with the town's new train station. The train station is three baseplates wide and fully modular. I am forgoing putting minifigs in my layout for the time being because I still have a lot to build before Brickworld but I will get better pictures of this layout, with minifigs, when I am at Brickworld. Until then enjoy!
