  1. Love the idea of this and some of the ideas so far. Mine would be... 1)A cargo centre to tie in with both the cargo City sets already done and the cargo train sets. 2)A town hall. 3)Fast food restaurant.
  2. Oh yes I want one of those (or 2) This is gonna change all the carefully laid out plans I had for what sets I was going to buy this year.
  3. Bored and fed up so I went shopping 7572 Quest Against Time - Toys R Us £30 7594 Woody's Round Up - Toys R US £20 - Had a £20 gift card from Toys R Us 5 packs of series 3 minifigure And although I promised myself I would not buy it I also got 7597 Western Chase, but I only got it because it was £31 BNIB on E-bay. Oh and 2 days ago I got 10158 High Speed Train Car £20 also on E-bay. Really gotta stop buying this month.
  4. Thanks all I think I will go down the second Emerald Night road, and add more to the train. I did like the idea for the TS and HP train but after looking around today I think them 2 sets are seriously overpriced compared to EN. Thanks Prateek, damn now why didn't I think of that. Seriously that simple piece of advice has helped me out a lot with my decision. Thanks Staalis I been thinking about that today. Sleeping coach and possibly a baggage coach have made my list to try and add thought out this year. As for the expense I just have to get the misses to do some overtime. Doh. Thanks Snapshot,I came up the the idea for a second tender to hold a second battery box to power some LED's in the carriages I plan to add. Hope you don't mind if I copy you. Thanks The Brickster, although I have downloaded issue 7 I have not read it fully yet. Gonna go make a cuppa tea and have a read. After read some of your great ideas I think I might just bite the bullet and go for 2 EN sets and really try to do justice to this train. Thanks all
  5. I've recently finished building the Emerald night train and it has left me thinking whats next. I have narrowed it down to 2 options. 1) Buy a second Emerald night. Use the second carriage as a second class and the tender will either be a second tender (like below) or merge the 2 tenders to make it a bit bigger, and also add PF to it. The second option I am considering is a bit more complex. 2) Buying both the Toy Story Western Chase and the New Hogwarts Express. The small carriage from the TS train I would mod to be a guard carriage to brake tender or something similar on the end of Emerald Night. The cash carriage from TS would be modded and used with 1 of my cargo trains. The final step would be to take both the HP and the TS engines and make 1 nice looking engine out of the both of them and have it pull the HP tender and carriage and the TS caboose, hopefully with PF. (I hope that made sense) I know option 2 is twice the price of option one but I hope to make some of it back by selling all the HP and TS figures on E-Bay. If I go for option one I play to buy 10193 Medieval Market Village any way so the total cost will nearly the same. Every time I think I've made my mind up and go to order something always pops up to change my mind. I need some help or maybe a new idea. Thanks
  6. I'm a 35yo married father of 4 and up until about 4 years ago I done the normal thinks a dad does with his kids. Then one night at work I started to get real bad pains in my right foot. Six months later I could hardly move my right leg got medically dismisses from work and that was it for me. All the things I did with my kids came to a end as I could hardly move let alone play football or anything else. I had a lot of Lego as a kid but never really played with any since I was 16. MY kids have always had some Lego to play with but one day, one of my kids got stuck building a model (7998 I think) so the wife got a old wooden shelf out of the shed and put it across my legs and me and my son sat there and built it together. Since then it has become a big thing between myself and 3 my kids (the other is 17). They receive town sets as presents and I buy the trains and the other sets they don't get. We spent 3 hours yesterday building the Emerald night train and it was great there was me my kids sat around the dinner table all looking for parts and putting it all together. Is Lego nerdy, I don't really care. Do people think I a nerd or anything else because I buy, build and play with Lego, Again if I am I don't care.
  7. Thanks just got mine today and have just finished building it. Seeing as this is not the biggest or the most expensive Lego set I have brought it has to be one of my favourites so far. I agree I wish it was easier/cheaper to get some more coaches. £50 on E-bay is IMO way to much to ask. Tempted to order another one and either use the Emerald Night for spare or sell it and just use the coach. I think TLG should sell a limited run of coaches though S&H but I doubt it so it looks like I'm gonna be hitting bricklink again soon.
  8. Really liking the crossing sign and lights, I do agree with the comment from the train forum about some flashing LEDs. I think that would be great. (been looking for some LED's myself for when I can get back to building.) Just one question are you also building some sort of barriers to stop cars crossing the tracks when the train comes??? As for the size of your silos IMHO I think that 60+ bricks high would look a little bit weird compared to the size of your buildings in New Mannum. 6x higher than your post office.
  9. Back to playing Tribal Wars

  10. I can not think of any words that describe that so I will just say "stunning"
  11. Well done to all you all sure did make this hard work. Cutlass Iz 2 points Blackicep8ntball 1 point Stratorion 1 point SuperBagel 1 point
  12. Excellent work there mate. Nice to see your keeping the feel of a Lego town and keeping the playability there. I think the ANZ bank has to be my favourite building of yours. And I really like them street lights of yours.
  13. I have to agree with most of you and vote for the pubic transport set, and I have not even built it yet, but the Lego truck and the 3222 Helicopter and Limo are fighting it out for second place. I think it is the combination of vehicles that make public transport a winner for me.
  14. After a few months of not being able to get to my Lego I decided to cheers myself up today and ordered a Emerald night Just have to wait for the postman now.
  15. I really like the Army Assault Vehicle #1 with what looks like a 50 cal machine gun. Could do with a few of them in my town and maybe a rocket launcher as well so the locals can go zombie hunting.
  16. Loving it. Such a simple but effective design but its the little details that make it stand out. I think TLG should release this as a set.
  17. Could not agree with you more. But as well as sacking Capello they should give the boot to half of the over hyped, overpaid, unfit players. (could not call them a team) We can not live on what ifs. if we played the way we should of played it would not of mattered. Same as Greens slip up, if the rest of them did what they was supposed to do then the odd slip up would not matter. Green could of let that goal in and we should still of won. And if Lampards goal would of been given I would put my house of the fact we would still of lost. We lost to the better team and was lucky to get even that far IMO
  18. This is really stating to take shape. I'm loving the BP service station Do you have plans to add buildings to the other side of the street or are you going to leave it open for playability ???
  19. I agree that apple tree house looked good and had some nice coloured brick but for a playability side of things the beach house is the winner. Although I am yet to buy a Apple tree house I am put off by the fact that it looks very small and cramped inside with not much room to add furnishings. Also the cost of the two is a key factor with the beach house being £14 pound cheaper. Two beach houses are only £6 more expensive than one apple tree house. For me the Beach house wins hands down.
  20. Been playing with this for a few weeks now, never been happy with how it looked until now. On a mission to make more cars for my Lego town, so heres the first. I know is a bit basic but thats how I wanted this one. Comments more than welcome P.S. the back bumper will be changed to match the front one, when I get the part.
  21. A little while ago I seen some ones MOC post office (can't remember who's or where) and immediately thought of 4996 Beach House So last week I ordered 2 beach houses from Lego. This post office is made 99% from one of them sets with only a few added pieces. Still got to finish the roof, drive way and add some stuff inside but I have to order some parts in for that. Front view with post van. A few more pices HERE when made public. Feed back more than welcome.
  22. I'm real glad I said I'd wait until finished before making my mind up. The stickered roof trim looks great and the socks are a great little addition Might have to have a crack with photoshop and have a go making some stickers my self, as your use of stickers make a great little moc look extra special.
  23. Looking good mate Like everyone else before me I love the hangers for the clothes. Think I preferred it as the single storey building as shown in the first pictures, but I wait until I see the finished thing before I make my mind up. Can't wait to see how you do the socks.
  24. It has to be Automobiles. Spent many hours as a kid building 4 stud wide cars and have many good memories of building them and then driving them down the stairs , and something I think TLG overlook, we need more cars.
  25. One thing I'm have learnt here it that it is more fun to try and rebuild something yourself. Eurobricks is a great place to come, the help and advice I have received here in the few weeks I have been a member have helped me loads and I am now trying to build my own creations. I guess I just trying to say have a go yourself and see what you come up with.
