Creeps from the Deep: Kalmah
OmastarLovesDonuts replied to awesomenessborn's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Love all the details, like the peg leg, gun, and net on the right arm; it resembles the original set while giving it a ton of personality! -
Very nice! I love the garden and the lit jack-o-lanterns in the windows-definitely has a spooky vibe to it.

Just to add to this, here in Austin, I was told something similar-the store will no longer have Bionicle products, and that I could order them online. There was no mention of the theme being discontinued or of it being online-only, but it ties in with what we've been seeing.

What was the worst construction set?
OmastarLovesDonuts replied to Bigger Fish's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I also think Metus is pretty bad. His limbs are angled so that he can't actually use his sword or shield- and besides, the shield leaves his hand completely exposed. The sword is juts the generic Av-Matoran blade, and the torso is ugly as well. -
I also think a new console game would be nice. The old web games are fun and all, but a new, large-scale game has so much potential that it would be a shame if we never get one in Gen 2. It could also serve to showcase the unexplored parts and wildlife of Okoto, as well as give some insights as to the villagers' lives.

I just hope that the new masks end up playing an actual role in the story, because they look really cool and might have something to do with the Toa being defeated.

I hope this is true, as I love seeing heads and masks repurposed as other body parts-and it might mean masks in new colors!

Very clever! I especially love the pterodactyl one and the use of the husky as bait is a bit unexpected, but funny nonetheless.

I managed to get the $15 Toa, and they are amazing! I might try adjusting Lewa's gearbox to see how I like it, but I think the shortest bone is a better solution, having tried it out. My only main problem is that the masks are a bit floppy.

I signed up for it, but I'll still be hoping to see a broken street date somewhere.

I haven't seen CCBS parts on the PAB wall in years, so I wouldn't be too hopeful about finding them there. However, if you're missing any summer wave IFB sets, then they have them all, unlike other stores.

Well, it's great to see that Gali now looks feminine. The Protectors should be easy to MOD elbows onto, and their backs won't be hard to cover. Overall, I'm becoming increasingly impatient for December/January! Thanks for the pictures, VBBN!

Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread
OmastarLovesDonuts replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Well, I guess I'll give this a shot...I'm not too good at MOC'ing, but I just might come up with something good. -
To those doubting that such short episodes can have any amount of depth or significance, remember the original Clone Wars animated series from around 2003. Each episode was about two minutes long, but when watched together, it ends up being great. I'm hoping for a similar strategy with these new shorts-they even have a very similar art style!

I don't think that this picture confirms them, as those are all normal-colored masks that will appear in the sets. Of course, they're still a possibility... EDIT: Greninja'd

Well, I can safely say that I now like Onua a lot; I'm still considering MOD'ing him to get rid of the gold and replace it with silver. The Protector mask also looks much better than I anticipated; in fact, so do all of the Toa Masters. I can't wait for December!

Excellent tutorial, and thanks! I've been wanting to see some good rock techniques for future MOCs.

Going back to the topic of the Mask of Creation, it may be able to attach to the sides of certain other masks. After all, they have the ear-holes, and the Mask of Creation has little visor clips on the sides. Just a crazy theory, but still possible...Also, October 9th still feels like it's an eternity away.

Yeah...I read the Brickset comments on that article and more people appear to want a UCS Millennium Falcon than BIONICLE's return. I personally can't wait until Friday, because an official announcement comes with official, high-resolution pictures that we can freely discuss and link to.

Lego Ultra Agents 2015
OmastarLovesDonuts replied to TPLSTER21's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, if the price list is true, then I am really glad that $9.99 sets are still around-$11.99 isn't much more, but it begins to add up. Even if it is $11.99, I'll probably pick up most of this wave as it sounds even better than this year's! -
I just hope that Technic-based titan sets return at some point. I realize that CCBS is great, but I miss the complexity of the BIONICLE titans. Even if the possibility of Technic coming back to constraction in a major way is nearly impossible, I really hope it does, even if just for nostalgia's sake.

I still don't get why people are expecting the new line to be a continuation. If there are 10+ years of story that have to be read, then why would LEGO make new fans do that? Just because those of us who are dedicated fans want to see a connection to the old story, it doesn't mean that it will appeal to new audiences. Your average 6-12-year-old, most likely the target audience, is not going to catch up on all that information online just to understand what's going on. I personally want a reboot, mainly because I want to see how the story plays out and if LEGO actually references the old story in minor ways.

A Trip Through Texas - An Architecture Series
OmastarLovesDonuts replied to BeKindRewind's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, I guess you could have built the Capitol building, the Frost Bank tower, or the bridge that the bats live under. As an Austinite (yes, that's the term), I'm biased towards including more Austin buildings, but nonetheless, this is a good selection. Fantastic work on the Reunion Tower in particular!- 8 replies
