Very well done! Very inspiring indeed!

It is now. Brickshelf moderation takes time. I usually save images that are inspiring in a folder. Then when I build I have references to look at.

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Finally finished my Challenge 3. link -
After learning the wish of the High King to find the fire crystal, Lord of Lava started his own search. Where could the fire crystal be? Such a powerful magical artifact must have some effect on the environment. Lord of Lava decides to consult his trusty friend, the Spirit of Lava. "My most trustworthy friend, tell me, is there anywhere in Nocturnus that the flow of lava is irregular or perhaps 'disturbed'." - Lord of Lava "Ah, yesssss. There is a place deep deep down below The Kelra Labyrinths. A place where the flow of lava is most peculiar. Demon's Pillar as we call it..." - the Spirit of Lava As the Spirit vanishes in the air, a vision of Demon's Pillar is left in front of Lord of Lava. The Kelra Labyrinths is a large and complex multilayer maze. To find a place deep down inside would take a large number of manpower. Quickly Lord of Lava summons a sizable group of his elite worriers, Aba, Bata, Gala... and sends them out to find the mythical fire crystal. Aba is the first one to depart. He... (*** Fast forward - due to lack of time and general laziness ***) Zata finally found the fabled Demon's Pillar after months inside the Labyrinths feeding on lizards and the likes. He is equipped with the "Infinity Chain", which can extend infinitely to help him find his way around the Labyrinths. Demon's Pillar... Zata quickly spots the Fire Crystal. It sits on top of the pillar. Zata takes out his "Infinity Chain" and climbs his way up the pillar. "GROAAAAAAAAAAR!" Suddenly he heard an earth-shaking roar! A gigantic lava worm breaks out of one of the other path leading to the pillar It is truly humongous. Of course, Zata comes prepared. He swiftly grabs the fire crystal and... takes out the "Axe of Eternal Ice", which he "borrowed" from some Mitgardia "friend" ... The magical Axe summons large ice bolts and temporarily pins down the lava worm In the meantime, Zata escapes from the dungeon and returns the fire crystal to the Lord of Lava. And the fire crystal is once again found in the land of Historia. The overall moc Update: Pillar by itself More pics on brickshelf The main tower is loosely based on Heroes of Might and Magic 6's Inferno castle. The background maze is inspired by the abyss scene from the Japanese Anime movie Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below .

Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?
lisqr replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
CUUSOO is NOT about turning great MOCs into products. Take the extreme example, Nannan's mirage. That's about the greatest moc I've seen. Something that I would kowtow to the master for. But we all know it won't sell. The other side of this is the japanese satellite. It's a good model, but not great by any means. But it catches the attention of some astronomy fans. So it's a good niche market that lego found. I see CUUSOO as a way to combine lego and other hobbies, and not for lego only fans. -
Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?
lisqr replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I disagree. I think the whole point of CUUSOO is to identify NEW potential market for TLG. Which means you are NOT the target audience. TLG is very good at taking money from AFOL as it is. I doubt they need much help there. CUUSOO helps them to find new groups to sell lego to. That's why I never paid much attention to the whole CUUSOO thing. What I think is a problem is that some of the CUUSOO projects are obviously not viable, like the Gundam project or the little pony project. No way you are going to get a license from another toy maker. And lego is going to waste a lot of time trying to get all the license. -
The 4 walls come apart into 4 pieces for the ease of moving and storing. So obviously having an interior defeats that purpose. The interior is completely empty. Well, I've built quite a few (5~6) clock towers of various sizes in the past 2 years. So I've passed my clock tower building urge. Also I'm about to move, so I'm in tearing down phase. In fact, I just teared down this moc today. It's been sitting there for 2 month now. I don't usually keep moc around for longer than that anyway. So in short, not going to build a big Ben anytime soon.

B-OV-30C After building the Tower Bridge, I felt like doing something similar to that style. So I was going to build a section of the Westminster Palace. But I underestimated the amount of bricks it takes to just do a 2x3 building. So I cut it down a bit. Still in that style, but simplified a little. The Westminster Palace looks like a big cardboard box from a far. So it gives me this idea of building my building in panels. So it's easier to carry around. All 4 sides come off. 4 sides sit on the base and then are locked together with technic pins (forgot to take pic of the pins). The side towers and the roof then sets on top of it. The roof is built with a technic frame.

Congrats Spencer! You truly deserve it. And congrats to all other winners. And finally I'm honored to win a place in this awesome contest. Thanks Everyone!

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest
lisqr replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Past Series: Gangster This Series: Flamenco dancer Architecture style: Art Deco This Flamenco dancer (inside the box) had a bit of "misunderstanding" with the family. Therefore a few "movers" were sent out to pick up some "instruments" from the nightclub where she works. Without the minifigs The building is loosely based on the historic nightclub The Paramount built in the 1930's in Shanghai. The car is art deco style too. -
Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest

For category B, how loose is the definition of architecture and who's the judge? Is any building going to count as an architecture piece? What happens to entries that doesn't meet the "requirement"? And how important is it to identify the architecture style? -
The fence is made of . I've also used the trees in another moc even more extensively.

B-OV-29E Not much story or anything to it. Just a little park. Enjoy.

I don't come here often. But I'm starting to like Hero factory pieces more and more. Here's one of my more unusual mocs. For most mocs, finding a good 3d reference picture is difficult. But not with this one. I just have to put it in my hand and make sure the curves are right.

One of my entries for Mocpages MOCathalon. Lots to see: clowns, "tallest" man... "strongest" man elephant Hot chicks, wait...

Thanks for the reminder. Corrected.

The Great Wall of China (长城) Location: Northern China (Shanhaiguan to Lop Lake) Size: 8851.8 km (5500.3 mi) 6,259.6 km of actual wall, 359.7 km of trenches and 2,232.5 km of natural defensive barriers Type: Fortification Date: Built, rebuilt, and maintained between the 7th century BCE and the 16th century Facts: (copied from wikipedia) The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China in part to protect the Chinese Empire or its prototypical states against intrusions by various nomadic groups or military incursions by various warlike peoples or forces. Several walls had already been begun to be built beginning around the 7th century BC; these, later joined together and made bigger, stronger, and unified are now collectively referred to as the Great Wall. Especially famous is the wall built between 220–206 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Little of that wall remains. Since then, the Great Wall has on and off been rebuilt, maintained, enhanced; the majority of the existing wall was reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty. The most interesting and iconic characteristics of the great wall is not only its length, but also its beautiful curve. In most great wall mocs I've seen, the curve is missing. So I want to be able to capture both of these characteristics. Battlements and watchtowers line the wall. In my design every one is slightly different. It can be broken into 9 pieces. Pieces 1 and 9 can also be connected. So the wall can be rebuilt in different ways. If you get multiple copies, you can elongate your wall. With enough copies, maybe you'll be able to recreate the whole thing. More Pictures

Some Leprechauns are sloppy My most colorful vig or possibly moc yet, 15 colors not counting back structures. -
I don't mean to offend the Japanese people. I apologize if I did. My cousin's currently studying in Japan (Tokyo). I was really worried about him last year at this time. So I wanted to build something for the anniversary. I guess I'm just not that sensitive and my choice was a bit harsh.

For one year anniversary of Japan's triple disaster. Can you tell how many different shades of blue I used? My Mocpage

This is one of my mocatholon entries. Nannan and Legohaulics's Oasis was my favorite moc from Brickworld 2011. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So here's my micro replica. The most amazing part of the moc for me was the moving water. So here's my version. More pictures brickshelf MOCpages

These are impressive. That's the kind of moc I hope to build one day. I yet to have the brick and the space for it.
