Have to enjoy my manual wagon/estate/variant while it lasts. Where in the world is Spock now? Correct. Thanks. -

It's summer road tripping time. Where in the world is spock? What do you plan to replace it with? -

I suppose they could also sell off your LEGO to offset the funeral costs. -
Help and tips for moving my flickr library to instagram
dr_spock replied to Minoton's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Flickr is a better platform for curating your MOCs. Instagram is for likes so post the best shot of your MOC. You could download the best ones off your flickr and upload them to Insta over a period of time to build up a following. I am not on Insta but my LUG is. Our social media coordinator could post my MOCs on Insta if they find them post worthy. -
I think big juicy sets reviews would pull in more eyeballs. More views help you to continue to receive sets for reviews. At the end of the day, LEGO probably want to see your metrics reports. Join a LUG. Someone in the LUG would probably buy those small sets for birthday loot bags or is a completist.

Maybe stud.io is somebody's domain name. -

I daily'ed a manual in Toronto traffic for a long time. It's something to keep the mind from going numb. It had an old school throttle cable. I could modulate it like one pedal driving. Foot off the gas and it slowed right down. I hardly used the brakes if I timed the traffic movement correctly. Unlike my new car with a drive-by-wire throttle which wants to keep going at the same speed and I have to brake more. I had to learn manual when I bought a new car. (The manual was $1500 cheaper.) It's good skill to have in case you have to be designated driver for someone's manual. I spec'ed my current car to have minimal fancy electronic features. Convenience can turn into inconvenience when things eventually go wrong. Money not spent on complex system repairs can be allocated towards more LEGO. -

Anybody feeling a bit "uneasy" about the future of automobiles? Will we get to a point where what it is, is so far removed from the place it started, that some of us no longer has the same interest in it? For example: no manual (transmission), no care. -

Too much work and other life stuff getting in the way of LEGO building like preparing for road trip. (Our AFOL convention is not until November. Plenty of time to panic build GBCs?) -

Could canceling the Bricks in the Six hotel room booking and camping out in the Subie free up funding? -
LEGO do not pay the RLOC's bills. As an RLOC, they support you with sets for reviews, prizes, etc. On the other hand, not Recognized means you are more free to talk about leaks, leaked images, and do other no-no things that fall under the Recognized condition umbrella.

It is LEGO's program. They can do whatever they want with it. They put time and money into it. I'd think they would want some of value or return on investment from it. At the end of the day if you want to be part of it, then you will have to play well by their new rules.
