The game came today in the mail, a lot earlier than expected. I just played through the tutorial to get a quick feel for the game. It is awesome so far. The controllers are pretty easy and fun. The tutorial gives the basics of how to do everything from moving to the most powerful force powers. I can't wait to get playing tomorrow night and into the weekend. The one thing that might be a problem is that it seems like there isn't any way to change camera angle in 3rd person view on the Wii without moving the character.

I am currently playing Sid Meiers Pirates. I jump around a lot on the PC, and go from Star Wars Empire at War to Call of Duty 2. I am taking a break from the PC to start up The Force Unleashed on the Wii when it finally gets to my house. I also ordered the Best of PC during the summer, and finished all the games but KOTOR. I got probably 1/4 of the way through, and then I lost interest. I am interested in playing Half Life 2, but haven't gotten around to playing it. I also want to play COD 4 and COD 5 when it comes out, but probably will wait on those for at least a year until the price drops.

Has anybody pre-ordered there's and gotten it already. I think it will get here this week, but I still have no tracking number or anything and it says it shipped on Monday and won't arrive until the 30th.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
SWMAN replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Too bad about this theme. In my opinion, it is a more cartoonized and colorized version of Rock Raiders. -
I think all it needs to be worth it is some new rebel troopers and Han, Luke, and Leai in Endor outfits. I personally think it will also include 2 speeder bikes, but instead of an AT-ST the actual bunker. Hopefully they don't pull the same thing as with the Hoth set and only have the doors.

That is true, but when it comes to first/third person games on the Wii, they aren't really babyish. I don't think you would consider killing stormtroopers with a lightsaber babyish. Plus, the campaign is single player, so you don't need a party. But, if you have a friend, they were smart enough to had a feature where you could duel each other as Jedi, which no other platform has. I have read some things that say the controls are neat buy get a little old and that there are a few graphic problems, but I am excited about the Wii version. After watching a gameplay review, I feel a little mislead about the graphics and such. You can't just pick up anything to use as a weapon, and you can't really destroy everything either. The people don't react as cool as I though they would, but it still looks like a cool game.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- SPOILER ALERT !
SWMAN replied to SWMAN's topic in Culture & Multimedia
So far I am impressed with this season. I like that Dereck Reese is a regular. I am interested in seeing what happens between John and Cameron. I have a feeling it will come down to him choosing between here or the new girl Riley. Personally, I think he will choose Cameron. She is always with him, she knows all about him and what is going on, and understands it. He can't really handle being social with someone who doesn't know. He would have to explain it to her and she probably would freak. Plus, he won't want to put her in danger. Also, Cameron is way hotter than Riley. -
I pre-ordered mine back in May when I was buying something else from Circuit City, and because I was going to have moved and be living in a new house by the time it came out, I just went ahead and decided to have it shipped instead of doing in store pickup. I figured if I was really lucky, it would be like the same deal as the 7th Harry Potter book where if you pre-ordered it was at your door the day it came out. I just found out that I am not that lucky. My order status for the game says that the estimated arrival is September 30. A full two weeks after it comes out. By that time, i would have been able to walk into any store and easily buy it. Now, it hasn't actually shipped yet and hopefully will later today, so by that time the status might change to something reasonable. I am going to be really mad though if I have to wait two weeks. I was planning on getting it either Friday or Saturday and then play it all weekend. So, now that I am done with my little rant, it looks like an amazing game. I got it for the Wii, and I am super excited about the controls. I have read some negative reviews, saying that the controls on the Wii are kind of hard to use and the gameplay is a little weak. Also, due to the Wii's limited graphic capacity and such, I guess there are some graphic errors that are noticeable. The graphics on the Wii also aren't going to look as nice as the 360 or PS3, but they will still be great. I guess in general the game is also kind of short. Still, I am really excited and the story looks really cool. I am fine with the game being a little short, because there are 5 different endings to the game depending on how you play, so I will be able to get all of them. I also don't play a lot of Video games, so I usually take a while longer than the average person. Plus, the Wii has 5 more levels than the 360 or PS3 and the ability to play with a friend. I was a little hesitant about the controls because I am not a huge fan of the Wii when it comes to 1st person games and was hesitant about 3rd. I tried playing COD 3 on it before, and got so frustrated I quit after an hour. But, just this weekend I rented Prince of Persia Rival Swords, which is 3rd person, and it was really easy to control and use the person. The only thing I am a little worried about is the fact that it seems like on the Wii the controls are temperamental. Sometimes your person will do something even when you don't want him to, and other times he won't at all. The main controller is the the lightsaber in the game, so I am just worried that when I really need the slash or stab, it won't. All of that aside, it still looks like an amazing game that will be fun to play. Hopefully it does not take two weeks to get the game, but if it does, it does. Oh, iamded. If you really want to get the Force Unleashed, it is a great excuse to buy yourself a system. 360s are only $199 in the US, so now is the time to buy.

That is really amazing. My only thing is that it could us a little more color, but other than that it is great.

What a great show. When I found out a Terminator TV show was going to start, I was pretty skeptical. I am a big fan of the movies, and didn't feel like a Tv show could live up. Well, I was wrong. Personally, I love this show. The acting is great and the special effects are really good. Summer Glau as Cameron was the perfect pick. While she isn't as buff as Arnold, she brings comic relief to situations that are really serious. I just watched the season two premier last week and it lived up to my expectations. I am glad that Fox renewed it for a full season, and will be sad when it ends. Does anybody else love this show? We can keep it spoiler free if you guys want, or can talk about anything.

I am reading A Tale of Two Cities, and hope to start War and Peace soon.

The Falcon would be from one of the three OT films. Might end up being from Episode IV because we have gotten one from 4 and 5. That would be sweet because they could get away from the usual figures of Han, Luke, etc... and give us people like Lando and Nien. The Arrest would definitely have all four Jedi in it. I am disappointed that this won. It has a very specific number of figures and items that can be included, unlike something like the Mon Cal cruiser that could have a bigger variety. I believe that people are a little too obsessed with Jedi sometimes. I like them as much as the next, but I think a Mon Calamari would be a lot better than a new Jedi. No offense to anyone.

I really liked this set. It was simple to build, yet detailed and included three figures, which was nice. If only Lego would do a few more Hoth sets, then we could make a real battle.

How About a Bounty Hunter Star wars Subtheme?
SWMAN replied to boogiewoogiekid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think that kids love bounty hunters, but there just isn't enough material. I think the meeting would be hard for Lego to do simply because it would be simply a figure pack and really nothing to put with it. They couldn't even really put in a little ship or something. Also, please don't put all of the smileys and stuff in the middle of sentences and posts. It is really distracting. -
This is a really cool set that I kind of wish I had snagged. It is way more detailed and accurate than the original one, plus comes with way more figures.

How About a Bounty Hunter Star wars Subtheme?
SWMAN replied to boogiewoogiekid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't know how well that would do. I don't think the video game was very popular, and bounty hunters have never gotten a ton of screen time and for what they have had in the movies they have had legos made. I think the Clone Wars is the only conceivable sub-theme right now that will work, other than the Force Unleashed if the game sells well. -
I agree with the fact that Endor and a few of the other sets look to be strong contenders, but I am not going to make any assumptions until we see pictures or get an official clarification, which might not happen for a little while.

You might want to try posting a better pic as your main one that you post on the website. It would give people a better impression and people will be more willing to look at it. Just a tip for future posts. Other than that, it looks very creative.

While they didn't change Yodas head to a Clone Wars style, I like that they changed the torso and took his little pipe instrument off and made it more of a jedi torso, like he had in the PT. I also like the new Tie Advanced. While it looks design wise pretty much the same as the old one, I like the color change. Hasbro has already gone to making Tie Fighters that are gray and black like they should be, and I am glad Lego has followed suit.

I just went to the Replacement Brick site just to see if you could request whole clones, but you can't. They make it so that the body and legs are available, but you can't order the helmet or head. You can order a whole Anakin, but that it is. I guess they realized that people would try to army build without having to pay. But, you can order new guns for any of the sets, which would be nice if you wanted some more.

I have six, three regular and three commanders.

Hopefully we can see some cleaner shots of the box art soon. Right now, the colors look faded and the orange clashes, but better pics should take care of that. I would also like to see the tops and sides just to clarify what figures are in each. I also like how the Tie Fighter has the new anniversary design, with the words on the bottom and the original box design on the top. It is nice to see them combine old with new for the anniversary sets. Can't wait to see the rest of them.

I don't think I will pick this set up. Even though 45 dollars is a good price for a set with 2 brand new figures, I am looking right now just to buy a few sets, and this is not one of them. Still, it is a great set.

i think that if I had not seen any of the prequels, your ideas would sound pretty good. But, after seeing the movies, I think yours are a little too out there for me. They are a very interesting perspective on what the movies might have been, but I like the Clone Wars the way Lucas made them.
