His attention turns to the mess of roots before them. I might want that fire bomb back, though. Dyric steps closer, trying to see if they might be able to burn through the roots.

As Atramor fumbles with the lock, Dyric turns to his companions. Hey, Althior. I know it's been a bit, but I can't help but notice an uncharacteristic silence from your corner of things. Have you finally managed to cast off that stupid blue ghost that followed you around?

Dyric gives Althior a wry grin and tosses the fire bomb to him. Hoke, help me with this. Rone steps over to the side of the bookcase and tries pushing it.

Dyric uses his tracking skills to identify the direction and source of the breeze.

I could have sworn that's what the archives said. Atramor, do you remember Hybros talking about a secret passage or something? Unless... it's been sealed. I'm sure one way or another, those 'Veterans' are going to want to cover their tracks. Rone rolls a fire bomb in his hands. If need be, we can take more drastic action,

Rone looks to Bellamont. I imagine you know this building better than I would. Can you take us to the cellar?

From what I understand, it's hidden in the cellar basement, behind a bookshelf or something. It's been a while since I looked through the archives.

Dyric blinks. Wh- Uh- He coughs into his hand, straightening his posture. I-uh, I'm trying to compliment you, son. Give it a rest.

Rone gives a nod to the gnome, watching him step out of the shadows. You make a good point, Matthias. As accepting as I would be of Nuitian's help, this is going to be pretty dangerous work and he should stay where it's safe- or at least, safer. In any case, the sudden appearance of the Veterans is suspicious, at best. If they are the real deal, we will have an honest problem on our hands. However, if we can prove that they are in some way duplicitous, we should be able to rout them out of the city fairly quickly, and restore the order.

Rone grimaces as Hoke steps ahead. Trying to salvage his plan, he runs up quickly behind the Dragoon. Dyric Rone, Hero of Heroica and friend to the Shadeaux. Slowly, he lowers his crossbow to the ground before, and hold his hands high. You would recognize me, I was a member of the Crescent Union. I spared your father's life once, though I imagine he might see the matter differently. The point is, right now we're all on the same side. Eubric has been flipped upside down. The Shadeaux have been framed, and Heroica has been flushed out. We're all just looking for answers; better to do so together than alone. No blood needs to be shed tonight. Are you with us?

Dyric looks over to Atramor. Silently, he lifted his hands from his weapon. He pointed a thumb to himself, and then waved his hand in the direction of the Shadoeux. Dyric had some strings he could pull, perhaps he could talk them out of any potential bloodshed.

I agree. We could try knocking, but sneaking in will give us the advantage. I get the feeling the Golden Dragon won't give us a very warm welcome.

Rone looks over the wreckage, a pang of sadness welling inside him. He had met more than his fair share of noble dragons; Vipera, Ecatsue - no dragon deserved the fate that had befallen the creatures here. Picking up on Hoke's half of the conversation, Rone turned to address their dragoon. What happened here?

Dyric looks about the suddenly silent group around him. Well, I'm game, anyways. Let's get this over with.

Dyric steps forward, bearing his improved weapon. Your dragon is a nice ride and all, but she's pretty conspicuous. Yet, we could use the support, and it's not like we can hide her.

Of course, Anwyl, and take care of yourself. Eubric's going to look a lot different in the coming days. Dyric hefted the Mythril Crossbow of Incessant Warmongers, and laid it on his back. He gave a final handshake to the smithy, then took the envelope. Rone was stepping, reading the letter when the dragon swooped into the marketplace. Surprised, the assassin looked Hoke and his steed up and down. Well, I suppose it sure beats walking.

Rone steps into the old familiar Marketplace, for what very well may be the final time. He lays the Crossbow of Incessant Warmongers on the smithy's bench and drops the pouch containing Atramor's 1240 gold. With the money, he upgraded the Crossbow to 30 WP and then inserted a Mythril shard to raise it to 40 WP. He also buys three smelling salts and meads for the trip. Hearing the commotion, Rone grabs his gear and sprints towards the direction of the Marketplace .

Rone catches the pouch, feeling its heft. Yeah, that was my thinking. I must say, it's good to fight at your side again. Reminds me of simpler times. Oh, on that note, when we're less pressed for time, I should pull you aside. I have a message you'd like to hear. Hey, Karie. Good play with the matron. And keep an eye, you hear? I don't trust the Wolfgang, and I must trust those Veterans even less.

Atramor, you're not going to like this, but I have a favour to ask. For the good of the team. Can I get a loan? Here me out. Rone pulls out his shards of mythril. I have more than enough here to make a complete crystal. With some extra coin, I can boost my crossbow up to 30 WP, and then 40 with the mythril. And this crossbow fires three ways. That's a lot of firepower going out. With a bit of improvement, my Mockthrill bow could be a crazy secondary for when its necessary, but that's less of a concern to me.

Then we should get moving, and quickly. Everyone, fetch your weapons. Does anyone need to stock up? Are we allowed to hit up the Marketplace?
