I think that need's be geared down a bit .It sounds like the motor is struggling,not a lot but i no not like the 'long flat noise' as you turn the valve.

It is such a shame to see such a get lego boat in bit's.I am sure that a good builder like you won't take long in rebuilding it. I am surprised to see the constrution of the haul though,it is nothing more than basic blocks.I would of though you might of used studded technic beams pined together?

Thats one big telescopic boom. I would copy the 8421 mobile crane's boom but just make it longer. Free Instrutions for the 8421 crane can be found here.

A pair of long nosed pliers normaly does it,then you can get it into the 'hole/gap'.

Nearly......I hope to get it for christmas and build the clawler,then over time use all the bit's for moc's. If I see some servo motor's online for a good price I will get them,but for the crawler it's self I will wait for christmas.

Mayby a stud or two less? On a side note what is it with flip flops,you would not be seen dead in them up here.

The lego technic 8258 crane truck used 8 of the liftarm 5x7's and 3 of the 5x11 liftarm's.

The back of it is very square,but i like the rest.
