I was surprised with this set, when I got it. It has a fine collection of Gems, but I think Lego could have done better. Perhaps another Island piece turned around and connected to the Island piece, aka make the island an Actual Island, not just cut it off down the middle. That's what I would do, if I had two of those sets. Another disappointment is the cannon on that rowboat. In RL, don't you think if you shot a cannon of of that small rowboat the boat would tip over? I think so, and I do have a Real Rowboat, that my Grandfather gave me. Let's focus on the pros of this set. I really like the fact that it has a lot of gems, and It has some good Pirate Minifigs. I like the small fish roasting over the fire. That was very creative. The dock has a "wooden" texture that really stands out. Overall though, I would have to rate this set an "Average". I think that Lego could have done better.

I'm making a pyramid... trying to use as much 2x4 brick yellow bricks as possible.

Decades? I thought I saw one in '06 while I was at a TRU. But I guess I am going to buy maybe four of those....

Is there any other larger plate besides the 15"x15"? I am preparing for a massive project... o_o

I want to know where I can find this. I looked all over for it on Legoshop.com, by theme, by category, etc and I still can't find it. :3 Edit: I found it, but it claims it's not available in my country. :P

I'm not so sure about how much my Lego collection is worth. A majority of the sets I have were from my Dad, from the 70's. Most of the instructions are gone. I have a lot of sets from the Bionicle Line, well, just about all of them from 01-04, 06-07. I am not sure. My guess would be $5000.00USD.

We all knew this was coming, but I didn't know it would come this fast. We've had Bionicle for eight years. It will eventually have to end, even with the fact that Mata Nui has to keel Makuta first. There should be a final showdown. Hopefully, through the creative talents of the Bionicle designers, we will have a fresh and new theme. =] Goodbye Bionicle

That used to be my only source for Lego instructions, but now I use Peeron. It's a bit less powerful than brickfactory, but it still gives you instruction scans from ???-2001.

I'm not sure if this belongs here, It's not Lego related in any way, but Anyhoo, The Texans and the Titans are playing tonight, in about two hours. I can't wait! By the way, this is Football- NFL- that I'm talking about.

My guess is that TLC never added a storyline to pirates, like the old sets. 'old pirate theme had about forty something sets, this new one only had about twelve. Take a look at the Bionicle storyline- it's been going on for years because they've had a good story that keeps on continuing. This new pirate line is like, "arg, we've found treasure! arg, let's go play a joke on the admiral". You can't get very far with that, can you? >_>
