Since (As far as I know) mafias can't usually kill more than one victim, the second one is more likely, and it's a vigilante who made a mistake.. Or it's a serial killer...

Although I thought he might be an innocent sacrifice, he wasn't, he had an evil black heart... I find it strange though, that there were two kills. One was definitely committed by the Mafia, since Pauly Pig is a confirmed gang-member, but my wife was murdered by a mysterious killer. Is it possible that there are several killers in our town?

I agree. Voting on somebody with basically no evidence is quite hard...

I think you should keep it open, but restrict the amount. Drunk people aren't really good at thinking and concentrating... And the ability to do those things is incredibly important in these times of danger...
