  1. Ooh, nice photograph there! However, that's more of a Napoleonic busby. I've found that the best solution for a Turkish/Ottoman/Arabian cap is something like this plus something like this as demonstrated by Tim Gould here:
  2. This is a very awesome entry for the neighborhood contest, Mr. Brickster, one of my favorites so far! You did a great job on the tile floor and the architectural integration of the arches is very well done, however I don't exactly see how the Baron got that motorcycle up there. :-P Also, I hope we will get a glimpse of an updated version with Sam at his upright piano similar to that of the scene which you found on Brickshelf. :'-) Here you can find another Casablanca MOC I stumbled upon a while ago if you're interested. ;-) And there's also this, not quite a MOC but still sort of nice.
  3. Orson Welles' Citizen Kane. Phantasmagorical. :'-)
  4. Yes, those are 1x2 cheese slopes also found in new Exo-Force sets. There seems to be a bunch in the monstrously colossal truck as well.

Surprisingly it's not, despite the name. That would be Mister Tiber's Brickshelf folder.
  6. Quite right, Mr. Phred! Only the highest ranking officers of the Royal Navy could get away with facial hair, but even then it wasn't something considered socially aesthetic so very few would have beards like the Lego sets depict them to. However, for the sake of fulfilling your request here is one example for you:
  7. Wow, many thanks to you, my friends! That's a really neat cake, thanks for that Sinner. :-P And Captain SlyOwl, I returned to my schooling Wednesday of last week, I'm sad to say.
  8. I'm trying to get something done before the deadline with some hope. What I have now doesn't have much of interior however so I might just end up posting it in the main town forum after the deadline.
  9. Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply sooner as I've been really busy lately. Interesting that it fits in sideways, makes wonder whether that could possibly be centered as well. Anyway, I suppose if Brickforge produces a Roman helmet like the prototype shown in Brickjournal 9 I will use that one to suit my needs here. Thank you all again for your informative enlightenment!
  10. Very nice topic, commodore! I just finished 'The Lord of the Flies', a very interesting book that Mr. William Golding wrote really well. Now that I'm done with it I guess I need to find another to replace it.... That sounds very cool, I've been trying to find an illustrated book of sailing ships but that particular one seems to include contemporary naval warfare as well. Have you been skipping over that to get to the 'good stuff' or are you planning on reading the entire thing, helicopters included? :-D
  11. I'm contemplating purchasing a Brickforge Corinthian plume but I'm wondering how well it fits with other helmets. I would be very grateful if someone who owns the piece could perhaps explain to me how the plume fits in the 'Castle Helmet with Dragon Crown Top' with the use of either text of pictures. The helmet that I refer to looks like such - Thank you very much. *y* Nathan
  12. It was the Olmec people, actually. I wish the film had explained how they got so far north, that could have been interesting...... And just for the record, Queen Victoria did not sponsor the Confederate States in the hopes of weakening America through it's division or any other reason, for that matter. :-/
  13. I do love fighter aircraft, they are one unique type of MOC subject in the way that they are very difficult to portray in brick at minifigure scale due to all the flowing curves at many different angles but surprisingly a bit easier to portray at micro scale. Building these at this dimension is quite an impressive feat! *y* The construction on the nose section is very well conceived, however I believe the length is a little too long compared to the rest of the body making the tail section seem a bit short as Mr. Sinner pointed out. The LEX strakes look fine to me, the second curve being conveniently realistic. I have one building tip here and two question for you; I think you should insert light grey technic pins into both square holes at the base of the inverted slopes at the very front of the twin tail fins and fit a 1x1 bley 'cheese' slope over them. Also, I am wondering if the yellow tip nose cone was used in intentionally and if the cockpit is able to fit either one or two minifigures.
  14. But not for our Brick Miner. We'll never see that fedora in one of those excellently photoshoped LEGO boxart imitations solely because it's a slightly more red shade of brown. :-P
  15. Hey all, Our new member Princess Ariana has made some very cool custom elements fit for any Imperial army based off of Armothe's 'full wrap' template. I believe some of these can be adopted to suit a merchant or pirate captain as well. For now these are only templates that can be printed on normal printer paper although she does plan to make something using fabric in the future with some small buttons that are absent in the decal designs. Here's a sample picture of a coat design based off that of Bernardo de G
  16. Awesome five-wide building there Phred, that really takes some skill! *y* Plus it allows the 3 wide door to fit in very well. I really love the nostalgia of the milk wagon, in fact my great grandfather drove one every morning for a good while to make a living at the time. :-) Perhaps you would prefer the look of a 2x2 hydrant? Either that or this one, I'd say.
  17. Greetings and felicitations, Mrs. Izzy! It's great to have you back, I see you'll be doing more laundry now. :-) It seems that in your absence I was able to locate the Brickshelf gallery I mentioned in this post. It is here!! *sweet*
  18. Ahh, 007! I recall seeing you about at PPE and the FC forums, I believe. I welcome you to Eurobricks!
  19. Awesome shots there, the torso of Dr. Jones Sr. will surely be very useful in some lovely historical MOCing. *wub* Yes, I still believe that the Belloq design is going to change in the near future, there are way too many Harry Potter pieces in the current version. Yeah, who knew? Batman's a Nazi! X-D Oh yes, I agree it matches that great Deutsches Afrikakorps imagery really well, but this motorcycle set is actually the only one of the January line that is not set in a desert setting, but a German-Austrian border. :-)
  20. Long live the king! X-D I also extend this congratulations to Sir Nadroj and warmly thank all those who submitted the seven other superb creations. Additionally, I send many thanks to Commander Scouts for organizing this excellent contest combing two awesome things; creepy Halloween frights and the magnificently majestic Golden Age of Sail! *sweet* I greatly appreciate the very nice motivation to build that this provided for me and the others. Now I'm off to go finish up my Eurobricks neighborhood entry.....
  21. Yes, I hoped they could provide some motivation for any of the readers despite the lack piratical atmosphere. Are going to include Mr. Davis' and Mr. Shark's work I hyperlinked, however? Here are the original paintings - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archibald_MacNeal_Willard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon_Crossing_the_Alps And thank you, as well, but If I ever do create a MOC based on a famous painting I can't guarantee you will be piratical. X-D It's great to hear you'll be making your own attempt, I will await the outcome with eager anticipation! Excellent! I shall look forward to that one as well. *y*
  22. Are the two best painting inspired MOCs on the web suitable for this index or are they not piratical enough? Anyway, here some other piratical painting based works - Napoleon by Brickshelf member Shark The Spirit of '76 by our member Elroy Davis And Mr. Pies' rendition of the death of Nelson one reminds me of another similar one. *y* And yet some more non-piratical painting based MOCs.... X-D
  23. Okay, now since we've completely abolished all slim hopes of keeping the entries even slightly anonymous, I'll voice some more opinion here. :-D That's very nice of you, emperor, but I believe this thing is one of the most dull and boring things I have made in a good while. X-D The original Halloween entry of mine was a much better repersentation, in my opinion. I know it's been said already, but I must agree that the wizard hat is ingenious! I've been trying to figure out what the light grey structure on the left is, however. I had the biggest case of builder's block with this I've ever had.....I originally wanted to put this cannon in there (maybe even behind a short stone wall of a fort) to boost the awesomeness but the piece limitation got me there, I have learned here that doing a build off only using specific sets both competitors own works out better than limiting it by number. *y* My vignette has exactly 75 pieces, by the way. :-)
  24. I thought so (I've been there a couple times, wonderful place X-D). The usual window view of mine is very different, you see. Yeah, at least that's what the view was like four months ago. Today we got some snow flurries in the early morning! :-) Haha, that's awesome!
  25. Indeed. I had not even realized how obvious I had made it originally, hence the change of my avatar. X-D
