  1. @ darphboubou: You could upload your LDD model onto the DesignByMe Gallery, but DesignByMe is no longer supported as of today. I think that website will morph into something similar, though.
  2. @ Jennifer Clark: Are your fantastic models still intact at your home, or have they been taken apart (or, heaven forbid, given away)? Do you think that the "studless" style of building is easier or harder than the "studded" style you did?
  3. @ Freekysch: You should make a decision SOON, before the sets are sold to somebody else. You can't go wrong with any of them -- they are all winners. If you can't decide, just flip a coin!
  4. You could look through the four pages of this Bricklink Catalog list of Lego "Wheels" to find the wheels you want, and them order some from your favorite Bricklink vendor.
  5. For those (like me) who have not seen Blakbird's Lego Technic collection, here are a few pictures posted on his Brickshelf gallery a few weeks ago. I missed my chance to see it on the first day of Brickcon 2011, but perhaps I'll have another opportunity someday.... This has got to be the largest Lego Technic collection outside of The Lego Group's internal collection, since Blakbird owns every single Lego Technic set ever produced plus a lot of great MOCs by the world's best Technic builders. Click on the pictures to enlarge them. He has more Lego: "Some modular houses and monuments not contructed yet." [
  6. You need to test that Trike out on Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats!
  7. It seems that Stephanie strayed over to the Technic Forum:
  8. You're right -- here's "Stephanie's Cool Convertible" being crushed by the awesome Power Puller tires of the 8466!
  9. I built it in a Silver color scheme, and used different wheels and tires (since I did not have the ones Zblj & JunkstyleGio used). I used one front disk brake instead of two (since I was missing one 5x5 Technic Disk). I found that using one 4L and one 3L Lego Technic Universal Joint worked for the rear wheel's direct shaft drive. You can see the "Hockey Spring" part underneath the handlebars that provides the Front Suspension. Thanks for sharing your LDD file, Jernej!
  10. @ chorlton: I like the idea. I'm sure that Siegfried will relay your proposal to the Eurobricks staff, who may move the topic to another Eurobricks forum for consideration (since it will affect ALL THEMES). Sometimes, hyperlinking to Bricklink is not the best -- Brickset and Peeron are also useful to link to certain things. Brickset has links to PDF Building Instructions & Set Reviews, and Peeron often has links to LDRAW .DAT files. Yes, providing hyperlinks to Bricklink, Brickset, and Peeron is a bit time-consuming, but newcomers don't always recognize set numbers. Do they automatically know what the 8448 set is, without checking the Brickset pictures and description for example?
  11. @ Thelonious Monk: Nice modification of the original Lego Technic 8069 Backhoe Loader (pictured below). Hey, I was wondering about your Eurobricks name (jazz great Thelonious Monk) -- are you a musician?
  12. @ BobBongo1895: I like your Lego SpaceShot inverted roller coaster a lot. You may find that you will have to brace your black support columns more with X-bracing to prevent it from shaking apart. If the coaster were to go all the way around the loop, the uppermost section of loop may pull apart from centrifugal forces. Are you planning on raising the height of the big incline to allow the coaster to have enough speed to go through the entire loop?
  13. @ martinmalmo: Welcome to Eurobricks! I downloaded the 9391 B-Model (Bulldozer) instructions from Brickset, and looked at Step 11 on PDF page 10. The gear on the right side of the assembly turns the Technic Worm Gear, which (in turn) rotates the 16-tooth gear. It works.
  14. Gee, Daniel, it looks great! It looks true to the original so far. Do you have to use some of the parts from your big Lego Technic Backhoe to complete it?
  15. I suggest that the Eurobricks Technic Competition THEME be a "Carnival Ride". It's not something that you see modelled in Lego Technic very often, but it lends itself to the use of GEARS. One can make anything within that theme, as long as: 1) The "carnival ride" can be motorized or non-motorized, remote-controlled or not. One can operate the ride by hand, crank-handle, or motors. 2) The overall size of the ride can be no larger than a 50cm x 50cm x 50cm box (19-5/8" cube). A tape measure or ruler must appear in the Competition submission photo to verify its overall size. There is no maximum number of parts; the Carnival Ride can be tall and gangly or compact. 3) The proper FUNCTION of the ride is more important than its color or APPEARANCE; one does not need to "decorate" the ride with LED lights, jewels, multi-colored tiles, etc. What do you think? If you don't like that theme, what theme do you suggest?
  16. OK, folks, would you consider the other way around -- a Lego Technic body shell over a non-Lego chassis? Here is a by JavierQ615 that says "My girlfriend bought me the Lego Technic Supercar set 8070 for Xmas. I wanted it to make it into a fast RC but lego motors are slow. I built the supercar around my 1:10 scale RC drift car chassis that she got me 2 Xmas ago. Combined ......came out this. My supercar is powered by a 12v Ni-Mh battery on a brushless motor." What do you think about it? Compared to the original 8070 pictured below, this one looks more like a Monster Truck:
  17. @ darphboubou: Here is what you need to do: 1) Get familiar with the Bricklink Catalog function. Since the part you seek is a "Technic Steering" part, use the dropdown menu to find the "Technic, Steering" category. You will see on this webpage the 6572 "Technic, Steering Knuckle Arm with Ball Joint": 2) Open up LDD Extended Mode (to unlock all of the available LDD parts) and type in "6572" in the LDD Parts Pallette search box (at the top-left corner of the screen). The part you seek pops right up. 3) In the future, it would be best to consolidate all of your questions about "How Do I Find This Part?" into ONE Eurobricks topic, instead of multiple topics. What exactly are you trying to make anyway?
  18. laawedreteip posted this of his TALL Lego Technic Crane crashing to the earth. You can see it being raised up in the quick, time-lapse video. He noted that it WAS the biggest crane he had ever built (taking 6 months to complete), but it was destroyed in just 5 seconds as it fell over. However, he intends to build it again.
  19. @ Zblj: I like everything you model on LDD! I want to build it later today. I looked at the 91 steps of your LDD Building Instructions, and noticed two more parts substitutions (using Technic pulleys instead of the 5x5 Lego Technic Disks on the wheels, and using different Technic Panel fairings because the LDD version does not come in orange). I used LDD Manager to prepare a 2-page PDF Parts List for your "Rage" Lego Technic Motorcycle (download from MegaUpload SkyDrive here ). The 206 parts needed include the x928cx1 "Hockey Spring", the 4L Universal Joints, Technic Disks, and the Technic Panels. I think that Alasdair Ryan was noting that your motorcycle tires were "bald" (smooth) relative to the common 2902 "Tire 81.6 x 15 Motorcycle":
  20. @ DarkPhoenix: Welcome to Eurobricks! Flexible cloth sails are not available as a standard LDD part, but bbqqq/ nachapon has made substitute sails on various Lego ships. On this Eurobricks post, he made the x1957px1 "Black Cloth Sail 17 x 28 Bowed Outward" (lxf file): On this post, he also made a x1957px1 "White Cloth Sail 17 x 28 Bowed Outward with Red Stripes Pattern" (lxf file): On this post, he made a "Thin version sail. Made of glass for frame 1x2x2" (lxf file): On this post, he presented his LDD model of the 6243 Blackbeard's Bounty set (lxf file):
  21. @ Burf2000: Whoa -- your MOC is going to be HUGE! Did you import these directly from Australia? May I ask how much each of the 125mm Rotacaster Omniwheels cost?
  22. Fernando Correia (Conchas) had a nice article about the Lego "8110 Unimog U400 Panhard Rod Misalignment Mystery Explained" on TechnicBRICKS, and made this :
