  1. Very shinny, good job. Where in the world are you and are you going into biz with this or is it just for fun? We can always use more chrome custom maker in this world.
  2. Hi Tolkien, follow the flickr link in the fist post. In the description there is the link to the BL store. The head and other customs is under - all custom items - at the top LEFT of the store page under the search store field (green color area)- click in NEWEST Hope that helps.
  3. I'd say talk to Victor or his wife at https://www.flickr.com/photos/eclipsegrafx/ http://www.eclipsebricks.com/ If you are going with digital. If you can get another 15 people to buy 10 each it would make sense to do PAD like lego, in which case I'd say go with with Adam http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=95547 It really depends on quantity. If you have a design that can be printed in different plastic color bases, you can probably get a couple of variations with the exact same printing template. They are some of the best in the biz in your side of the Ocean, there are a few others. PS: KingPixels No idea what language you are talking there, it's all elvish to me :D
  4. Really nice work, I'd suggest trimming that lower face protectors, for a perfect visor. I'm definetely using those pieces also, so thank you for showing us this.
  5. Hello Xtent, you might want to talk to someone who does digital uv printing, if you want small quantities at high quality. There is also the possibility of decals, stickers or if you want a Lego quality minifig, then you need to have them Pad printed, and that is very expensive if you only want 10. So think well on what quantity and design you want. And maybe post a sketch or a picture of the design for reference. Hope this helps you getting to your objective, and good luck. PS: If you let us know where you are in the world, and what kind of custom you want we may suggest someone to you.
  6. Ask uncle Eric or the alien queen, if you can borrow theirs. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sh031 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=col128 I'd say it's feasible getting a lego cape. What do you think?
  7. You know doc there is a shield like the one you used for taskmaster in trans red, that would go really well with US agent. You probably can still get it used in BL. Nice job on the customs. And you are right about blastaar, on the "wind content" comment.
  8. I smell foul play! Is that shield printed or a decal? Looks nice for an older model. I need to get me a proper swat team for my gotham police force. But you know how it is "police" budget and all.
  9. Just wanted to share my pics, of my own copies of the black head, I got them just yesterday. Peter was kind enough to model for me he thinks black is slimming, poor deluded plastic mini. :D I'm soooo proud of the way it came out, real proud Papa right here. «--- More about this and other custom pad projects in my flickr. Enjoy. PS: Didn't have venom on hand, for the pics, hence the other white meat/spider.
  10. How in bricks sake, did you loose an entire swat team, didn't anyone report them missing :D Very nice combos, now don't loose them again, you never know when you need to swat a fly.
  11. Hi folks, this update relates to the super shirt torso here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/118244175@N05/14247393644/ If you want one help us go to print, we need 1000 euros for this one so follow the instructions. http://www.kapipal.com/f436ab1287a4453db1371ffc1d2d36c0 You can go here and donate 10euros, after 100 people have done that or we reach 1000 euros the super shirt will be printed. So if you want one, help us make it, and then you can get it from the store. Questions send FM PM or email. Regards to all. That value covers the expense with printing and parts so help us out. If you prefer alternative means of contributing just write to me. Please help spread the word about the projects. PS: Colors silver grey and light flesh over black torso. Depending on how this goes and feedback from you the legs may be included. Design based on That Guy in the red cape from the Mech set mixed with mister "IWILLFIND HIM!!" Colors
  12. Yes to polish it to the right shine. The socket thing is just in case there are some barbs and the arm doesn't go in right. It always good to "melt" any hard joints to avoid splitting the torso, but at those prices you can get spares.
  13. Diluted drugstore acetone works better than sandpaper and is gentler, just make sure you rinse in soapy water so the reaction ABS/acetone stops once you have it like you want it. my 0.02cents Or you can try and get Lego arms to work with it, just use acetone gently on the socket till it's the right size/shape. And it would make the fig 10% official. well maybe 9% :D Or bite the bullet like I did because of this conversation and get the official one for 100 and something euros. I BLAME all of you for my wallets pain. (and the fact that plain green torsos are damned impossible to get) PS: I'm not responsible if the chinese plastic goes up in flames, gets eaten through or anything. It's probably more reactive than the european variety. IMHO
  14. One more Lamb brought back from the dark side LOL. -------------------------------- Thanks Goblin, I sent a pm to Kc over there telling to try and get some folks to share costs there are more people probably interested in those, some even in his Country. I'm always telling you guys to form buying groups and crowdfund stuff, its worth the hassle, specially these days with shippings as high as they are. Eurobrickers UNITE :) Do you know if they have a Distributor here closer to home. Pity about the abs difference. PS: KC One good idea is to use Bricklink ratings to create confidence in who the ringleader will be if you decide to go with group shopping.
  15. I thought they did like me, and had them molded in actual official lego plastic?? I actually never got any of those. At around 1euro each they probably are even cheaper than buying the decool sets just for the 2 legs, and having it shipped from Hong kong. So no reason to buy those sets I can think of if you are in the USA or Europe (not sure if they have a dealer here). Question to you - Goblin that is Super: How well do the leg colors match to the actual lego colors?
  16. Picture of minilegs they look like the ones sold by http://www.brickfortress.com/ I have no connection to fortress, but I'd advise if you want mini articulated legs you get them from them not in knock off bat sets. It's important to support our Community and not people who are in it for themselves at everyone elses cost, not that I'm above buying some of the knockoffs or anything ,but only if its something that doesn't exist like the hulks or for customizing (but only cuz I don't like to drill into proper lego pieces, it makes me all sad and weepy).
  17. There is one way we talked about over here, making a replica with some kind of logo or adding a mark or something like that, but it would make 2 things happens, 1-Price would go up for each part of the fig, since head torso and legs would have to have that, 2-It would make the figs less than pretty, with all the letters showing, in the legs you can put it on the inside of the leg, but what about the other parts? the guy I couldn't remember the name is Paul Janowski his hulkbuster bellow
  18. Quality control, what would be the fun in that. And miss all those nice unique surprises like, misaligned prints, wrong colors and print failures. Thats what makes it art. Its all the wonderfull combinations and diversity around the same VOAT. (and that's Sarcasm BTW) I'm really surprised at the speed these are coming out, they must really have applied some resources just to this, I'm guessing selling so many Hulks and Iron-mans helped a bunch.
  19. Another Fangtastic review, and I join the voices and thank Wetwired for getting the support for this to be made, and all his other great works (seriously have you seen how big his Stay Puft is? -pure beast). Definetely like others have said its a pretty much perfect set (except for the gaping hole that was the removal of HQ) I have my printed arm patches ready for four of these ASAP. Can't wait to dismember Bill Murray, for oh so many reasons. :D let's call it - inner child therapy.
  20. I intend to do a Phoenix but not exactly the same as the con, I made a rule that I wouldn't replicate con figs or elements exactly to avoid scams, since our print quality rivals with Lego's, if we did it the same design someone could try and cash in, and I don't want anyone to be hurt by mine and my partners works. They don't mind doing mainstream like the bullseye, but I know eventually we will get a daredevil bullseye set and then what? The only saving grace for the "Chinesegate figs" as I like to call them is the big figs. Rob, let me know how you like the heads, mine are also on the way but you will get them before I do, so give me an impartial review of those, so I see what can be done better. - Are you going to do the mod to the mouth part so you have both designs?
  21. Rob don't tell me you are deserting to the knockoff camp?
  22. Looks like Hulkbuster, probably a copy from the guy that does the 3d printed Solomon grundy with the knives in the back, I can't remember the name now. Check flickr. My partners won't like seeing that bullseye there one bit. To me only the big figs have any value, everything else with one or two exceptions is just waste of plastic. That thing looks nice, but i hope lego does it like the TMNT dogpond and not hulk size like that, it just looks soo weird.
  23. Update Nº04 Yay, first drop in the bucket, from many more I hope, System is working, so donate. C'mmon guys follow the example, and donate, we have most of the parts but we really need your help, to get it printed. Go here https://www.kapipal.com/f436ab1287a4453db1371ffc1d2d36c0 donate and then ask for the project link by email, it's easy and you can make Pad printed exclusives figures a reality. Question: Would you guys like a glow in the dark head made as an exclusive extra for the first few that buy the glowing skull minifig? You would still get the normal head. Or is it overkill?
  24. You might all want to take a look here http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html the part about window cleaner might be interesting, and future can be used to seal decals and painted designs too. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2005/09/stuff_eng_tech_canopies.htm Might have to create a full topic just on those two links alone. ------------------------------------------------------ Safe Stripping with Orange Zest Solvents An acrylic hard ground can be stripped off in a strong soda ash solution (1 part crystals to 3 parts warm water). Or use one of the excellent citrus-based safe solvents now on the market (such as 'D*Solve', 'CitraSolv', or 'De-Solv-it') which remove acrylics, etching grounds and hardened ink and paint with great ease. 'This truly revolutionary solvent was formulated as an alternative to petroleum-based turpentines and thinners. It is made from 100% renewable agricultural resources of soy, corn, and citrus, and is non-polluting, non-carcinogenic, and bio-degradable. Less than a teaspoon will thoroughly clean a large plate. DSolve will even strip dried ink from etched lines.' Dick Blick There is a growing number of such citrus-based solvents on the market. The key ingredient, D-Limonene, also known as orange oil, the safe and innovative solvent extracted from orange peel, can be purchased directly from the citrus industry. For example, see www.citrusdepot.net. This solvent is more powerful than mineral spirits, strong enough to dissolve hardened acrylics, oil paint, printing ink, (and even some plastics) with ease, yet medical studies have found no carcinogenic or neurotoxin hazards comparable to the petrochemical solvents. Users should, nevertheless, still handle the solvent with care: ensure good ventilation and take fire precautions when using the new orange oil solvents. Unlike oil-based products, orange oil is considered biodegradable. ---------------------------------------------- d-limonene is the oil in orange peels and lemons, the white rind part, might be interesting to try it on lego prints, would be funny if it worked on plastic and rubber parts. You could go to the market and get some lemons, later that day have clean torsos, no scratches. Emil back to the lab ;) Don't use it on styrofoam it makes a glue as strong as woodworkers gorilla glues.
  25. UPDATE nº4: Hear He! Hear He! To all in this land, we need 150 people to donate in the general donation page, once you do that you are given a link to the private funding page for each fig. The page has been created, parts are orderd and on the way but we need you to reach for the wallet and help speed things along. Deadline is set for end of August (hopefully already in production or release stage by then) LET'S make it so people. One thing: the link will go out after 150 people have donated on the general page to prevent any possibility of it failing to reach the goal, since this crowdfunding platform acts as a direct donation and charges you right away, you will have the credit to buy the figs either way. But if there aren't enough people it will take longer to do (but I promise it will get done - I want mine too after all, if I have to top it off I will no worries)
