Mr.Phes, what I meant by "purists" is that there are people out there who don't like modifying their Lego pieces. They use what are made available to them through Lego's official releases. I rarely do decals, but that's it. I love to keep my Lego as genuine as possible so with what Lego offers to us, blue-french red-british seems to be the best choice for purist people that are after historical accuracy. I hope this clears everything :-)

Although it's a well built MOC, it doesn't remind of Pirates to be honest. Maybe it's the lack of a palm tree, maybe the colors are too dark, I don't know, but something there doesn't add up to make it piratey for me. The MOC is quilte good, don't get me wrong, but not piratey enough for me.

Thanks Phes. You flatter me :-P. Jipay- Everyone has different opinions and that makes people more enjoyable to know. I too live in a place with forests (To ignorant people out in the world : We do not ride camels+Turkey is not a desert). I also think that bears and wolves are nice creatues to have, as long as they don't get close to me. And I can easily say that I prefer snakes over wolves for the fact that a wolf is harder to escape from compared to a snake. One of my biggest dreams is to buy a boat and cruise around the Carribbeans, a dream that may never come true :-P.

Nice information there, but there are some purists around here (you can call me one if you want)that would prefer using the existing Lego pieces to have French + British instead of customizing them. Think about the old times when printers and PCs weren't common. What were kids supposed to do :-P?

Hmm.. I don't know. Most of the torsos in that genre include shriukens(possible typo), but the gold freckled leg pieces can be used. Also the Emperor torso with dragons on it(refer to my avatar) can be used for a more oriental pirate :-).

A %76, oh well. I wonder if the Turkish catalogs had Turkish names for the pirates.Hm...

Sorry to revive this thread, but I have some stuff to say :-P. Most people know me as a castle builder (which in fact is the reality, considering the parts that I've in my collection), but I've got to say that Pirates>Castle. You may ask: "Why is that so?". Here are my reaons: -Ships and ocean life is big part of the theme and those two are things that Castle lacks in many ways. -The main location is the Caribbeans. A tropical place with lots of islands and so. Apparently a more attractive place compared to the dusky woods of Europe. -The uniqueness of real life characters and the fact that it makes us like the evil characters. -The MOCs built in Pirate theme are always more refreshing and rare compared to castle. Anyways, for the facts that I've stated above, I love Pirates. Arrr! *wub*

Nice battle :-). I'd go with Red for British and blue for French. It adds more variety to the Lego Pirate World and of course is more realistic.

Congratulations to all countries that got to the finals, especially Turkey(of course :-D ), Greece and Denmark.

Actually I do Mr. Phes. Well, he's not an imperial guard or something, but was my Pirate Captain, Jack Newfounder (the Role playing character). I was pretty upset when PB closed down, the pirate heaven was gone :-(. Mister Phes, I think it would be good to email Web-Techie and ask him if PB will ever go online again. That would be nice of you to do for all of ex-pb members here. *y*

I really don't know when I'll be able to build it. I've got my finals coming to me soon (which must be studied :P), but I'll build it part by part and not as a whole so I'll post the WIP pictures here. :-)

Ninja torsos can fit quite well as pirate torsos. Try those if you have any.

I had my suspicions about this line, but this set looks good! And I see some useful parts for Pirate theme along with a load of orange pieces. But why does every set has a catapult in it? Why? Ok, throwing stuff around if fun and all, but it gets a bit boring after a while :-D

Although I don't own any of their albums what so ever, they came to Turkey for Rock'n Coke '06 and they had one of the best performances (along with Apocalyptica, The Cure and Offspring and also Hot Hot Heat). I really enjoyed it there and I may buy that single off I-Tunes :-).

That looks good! Although I'm not sure if I'll pick it up or not, I think it's a huge improvement over the Bat Cave. And you can never have enough of those oval windows *skull*

I'm looking forward to it. Summer time may be a good time to start it although the participation can be a little less than normal due to the fact that it's a holiday :-).

Right on spot! In Piratebrick's RP, my character used this place as a base of operations. As far as I remember, there was a part in RP that French snooped the island, but were cought and executed. That's why I've included the soldiers.

I really loved this place, especially the Pirate part and can't wait for the stockade to open! I may lessen my posts at CC (not that I post much anyway) and concenrate here :-).

This says it all : "Maynard later commented that Blackbeard fell with at least five gun shot wounds and at least 20 sword wounds. Blackbeard's severed head was hung from Maynard's sloop's bowsprit as a trophy and also to prove that the legendary Blackbeard the pirate was indeed dead." *wub*

That's nice of you to do Phes :-). I've deconstructed the original one ages ago, so this "revamped" version will be bigger and badder! Here're somethings that I'm planning to include in it: -Of course a bigger monkey head with better landscaping -Interior with lots of cavern details -A good amount of treasure -I'll try to integrate a light mechanism to the MOC so that it can be used as a display in the house. -More foliage -A secret emergency exit Hope that enlightens you :-)
