Link to pictures. http://imgur.com/a/MvTI5 So I have been working on my challenge to put 4 Joust sets together. I started with everything assembled from the book. I figured I only needed one joust rail so I created some stables for horses (http://i.imgur.com/Oc9PdDzh.jpg). I then modified the king pavillion to make it so I could have just 2 of them from 4 (http://i.imgur.com/EFKWnOWh.jpg and http://i.imgur.com/uZTU9Tih.jpg). I made one of those for the red king and blue king brother (lion knights) and one for the green and black wizard. I have a whole bunch of base plates ordered so I can start to have tiles underneath. I also plan on getting more chess sets to have enough soldiers to make it like a packed stadium (http://i.imgur.com/VUN97kqh.jpg and http://i.imgur.com/Vykckmxh.jpg). I also have been putting extra kings and queens minus royal livery into the noble areas to look like nobles are watching from boxes (http://i.imgur.com/vbsYi2Dh.jpg). Future plans: I really need to find many many many 1x1 tiles to start to do proper cobblestone and street material and grass material. I need to figure out where to get the best plates for building decently sized towers and turrets because the castle I built to start it from is pretty whimpy(http://i.imgur.com/l4AFWCdh.jpg):(. I was really sad it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be to build the castle after building the joust. I plan on picking up some of the medieval village sets for a bit of a village scene next to the Joust. Questions: What are people buying to start working on their own turrets? Are you using Helm's Deep because it seems to have a lot fewer huge pieces that really don't seem to be able to be molded into more realistic looking walls. I was planning on picking up more base castle sets but I am not so sure anymore. Really wondering what others think. Also looking for other ideas of where to go next. I want to have this back up against a castle wall with a city/town nearby the castle. Thanks for taking a look all.

Unusual places to display your Tower of Orthanc

My model room still had room for it on a lower bookcase, Here it is on imgur http://i.imgur.com/ejKlC7Hh.jpg I am not sure if it fits in normal forum stuff so I don't want to post it that way in case it doesn't. -
That is an amazing moc!

Thanks all!

Looks great. I really need to find some 1x1 tiles from PAB because I see so many cool water effects with blues, teals, and whites for water with those.

Now I am trying to go back and find the ones my sister had that my friend and I stole and made into other things but I liked playing with her on those sets. Looking back it was Paradisa. I thought they were great sets and I had to find them under city not their own theme when looking back.

Love it, this looks awesome

About as much as Lord of the Rings does. Game of thrones is loosely based on War of the Roses in history.

Talked to a different employee at the other mall I shop at closer to my house (made a long lunch run), and they told me the scheduled end of release was january. Stores will not be ordering it anymore but it will continue to be available online till then. Hopefully. Depends if they sell out online.

My daughter is going to play with castle, city, star wars, LOTR sets all when she is a bit older. I will just let her pick which sets make her happy. I wish they would go back to the older "girl" sets where the minifigs were the same size as all the other mini figs. I hate the difference in mini fig size. I might even buy some of the friends sets if it weren't for the god awful minifigs. I have found my self saying that is a nice set on some of them myself (as a male AFOL).

Really nice setup. I love the ground effects and the stop action assembly with the last part of the statue.

Just bought 3 more of this set so I will get this page updated with pictures if anyone else was interestead after I get them all assembled.

This is exactly what I want to start doing myself. Are you bricklinking for many of your pieces or just buying lots of the "castle" sets? I am just a lowlie collector of a wide variety of stuff but this is something that looks truly spectacular.

Lego Joust, on hunt for getting 3 more to try to create a joust arena...
-
Went by an official LEGO Store today in Houston, TX and they said they were not going to be getting any more of those in because they are no longer in production according to the employee I spoke with. I guess my question was more along the lines of if I used 4 entrances to create a king of stadium would it look ok without having it double on each side. Looking more for someone's experience if it would be better to go with a single entrance or multiple entrances because I am thinking about trying my hand in mocking but still a bit short on bricks for that.

I recently started collecting again after a many year break from LEGO's. I think I may have a slight addiction but that is ok. I collect Star Wars, LOTR, Hobbit, City, Modulars, and am starting to pickup Kingdoms/Castle. I linked this on Reddit but here is my collection of LEGO's minus the Joust and a few other sets I picked up a few days ago. http://imgur.com/a/jkndV

Has anyone bought multiples of The LEGO 10223 http://shop.lego.com...oms-Joust-10223 and put them together? I see that the gatehouses look like they go together nicely on the back of the box. Was looking for anyone with some experience on this and their thoughts. I think the set is amazing and I know it is about to go out of production and was thinking about picking either 1 or 3 up to try to make a big arena for jousting together. *Edit* I just bought the 3 sets so I will post some pictures of them all together with my first set on how it looks. Going to be short on minifigs till I can catch some chess sets on discount.
