  1. Not bad, I still think it needs something but I couldn't tell you what.
  2. Thanks for the tips. They all sound like great advice and I will try to fix those for the next moc I do.
  3. I am light on bricks but Sir James still feels up to this challenge. A stolen spear is no laughing matter.
  4. Thanks :) Like make them in mid swing at each other? I could do that. I am still working on my posing of mini figures for shots.
  5. I am glad it cheered you up :) I mold them after my dogs being useless at anything other than getting into trouble. I do agree that it needs more bricks and plates in tan, unfortunatly I am very short in those pieces to make it look good. I am slowly aquiring more bricks but my #1 focus for bricks at the moment is to finish my joust base (building 4 bricks up all in black) then base plates on top to finish off the base so that I can snap together at the base and have the joust pieces not snap together so I can do more moc work. I have lots of bricks from sets but I have not focused on one type of sets until now and most of my bricks are tied up in models I have not disaseembled. Do you have recommended best to start with bricks or plates for instant better looking sand effects? I saw someone do that with a river a few days ago and I liked the idea.
  6. Sir James was at a local village on his travels and the villagers told him of these orcs and goblins that were preying upon travelers and villagers alike. Being the knightly man he was decided he should go check out the disturbance. Sir James sets off with his entourage to head to the area that these bandit orc and goblins were at. His sword was telling him he was an idiot the entire way for listening to lowely villagers, it did not have a high opinion of peasants. Sir James threatned to "King Arthur" the sword if it didn't shut up. The sword just rasped back at Sir James and said it would just come out and start smacking Sir James until he could catch it. His loyal companion dogs were not of very much help at the beach as they were easily distracted by running in the water and chasing crabs. Sir James saw some movement on the beach ahead and went to check it out. Only to be surprised by a small band of orcs and goblins. He happened to notice it looked like they had a fair amount of treasure and it might make a nice prize for a joust tournament. Will Sir James defeat these foes? Will the foes best Sir James? Will the dogs be of any use in the fight? Will the squire pee himself again instead of firing his bow? Tune in next time to the adventures of Sir James. Alright next time couldn't wait. Sir James easily handles the bandits and dispatches them. The loyal companion dogs were of no use, and his squire Robert shot his bow and then pissed himself and the horse. Someone has a lot of horse cleaning to do now. Someone even caught a crab Robert feels so ashamed
  7. I like it, do you find building up the bottom layer several stories helps with stability? I see a lot of moc'ers do this. I like the dumped bricks floating as the water.
  8. Wow this is truly amazing. I didn't even catch the cheese slopes sideways for elrond till someone mentioned them.
  9. I am looking at dark tan and some of the olive colors. My first month or two of ordering may skip those colors because of costs, but I will probably add those as a 3rd month of ordering stuff. I think I am going to do elevated base plates for more stability and the ability to modularize my creations more easily. Thanks for the advise and I will look for some medium dark flesh pieces occasionally to add color. Will keep my eye on the PAB walls. Thanks! Thanks! I have been playing around with that now. Thanks for the advise! I am looking through and I think I want to sort of follow a mixture between helms deep and the kingdoms joust castle look. Not so much the pure castle sets.
  10. I hope to found my true city soon. I have ancestrial lands and a castle that were taken by force.I am gathering my forces to return.
  11. More great landscape work. I really like it.
  12. Sir James of the port of Messahmuk. Has a small castle and a magical sword of the 1000 voices. Don't think it is easy wielding a magical artifact that talks back to you. Sir James has tried to loose his sword as many times as it has talked to him. It will start to float behind him and smack him in the head if he leaves it behind. He once let it smack him for a week before taking it again. He is followed by a rescued slave Robert and his loyal companion dogs Fargo and Brody. He likes to kill bandits to rescue merchant gold to keep his extravagent life style. (I hope I did his introduction right).
  13. Thanks for the info! Added that item to my wishlist. Side question. Is it worth shipping pieces overseas or is that really too expensive?
  14. I believe that is dark green as there is no olive green option for 1x1's. Or maybe are they just 1x2's? I do see those in 1x2s.
  15. Looks fantastic!
  16. First of all I appologize if this is the wrong place and please direct me to the correct place to ask these questions. I am looking around bricklink trying to figure out which colors of things I want to order and specific pieces I want to order to help build my own more realistic looking castles and scenes. I have order 1k each of trans-clear plate round clear, dark blue, light blue for water effects. I am looking now to what wall colors and pieces I would want. I am seeing Dark Bluish Grey, and light bluish grey, and Dark green for walls? Are these the color of the castle tiles I get in Helms deep and the castle sets? Are there other base colors anyone would recommend? Really just looking to get some knowledge on what parts I should be looking for to pick up.
  17. Then maybe add some moss and darker blocks along with it as well to make it look a bit more natural.
  18. Would love to join but haven't figured out which faction to join yet :( Haven't created my avatar yet either.
  19. I love the water effects being raised and the boat!
  20. Wow this is so impressive! I really love the tree fortress.
  21. That siege tower is amazing. Love the scene. Nice tall walls to make it look more realistic of a castle too. Great job all around.
  22. You may want to add some decoration to the walls or floor. It looks nice and clean but that also makes it look less exciting. Maybe a few maps on the wall, or maybe stainglass on the other side of those windows? Looks nice though.
  23. This looks fantastic.
  24. Thanks I wasn't sure I should use that tool and if I broke some rules on size let me know I was trying to make sure I didn't break size of image rules. Updated original post.
  25. I agree they are awesome I did buy 4 and set them up. Now i am very disapointed in the castle because its not as cool as this.
