  1. What? There are absolutely no logigal mistakes in my comics. That's why they take so long to make ;-) Yeah, I think I've used "bad language" in most of my episodes, and I don't know if I've changed over these last two years or something and started to use more. Maybe I'm angry and depressed irl, and it shows in my comics. I don't know. But it's no fun making new ones when I get tons of complaints and threats. But it's great to get some nice comments from you guys in here, so thanks for liking this latest one. I'll see when I get the time to make another one. Everything has a meaning and adds to the bigger plot I've got, although it may look as if this was just a little adventure on the side of the main one. Because....there IS a main plot, believe it or not :)
  2. Okay, here we go again. There's some bad language in this episode as well, so if you're offended by such things maybe you shouldn't read this episode. The lines are taken from American films and the quotes are more or less well-known, so I'll never see what the big deal is about this "oh no, you used that word!" stuff. We don't care about things like that over here in Sweden, and I certainly don't do that. Anyway, here's episode 36: http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/56570612 Plese don't just post complaints about the language if you're going to post. I get a lot of them already, and it doesn't help to complain. Enjoy, or don't :)
  3. It's all about politics. And global warming making the climate change and get all whacked up. And it's a big commercial episode for Coca Cola. A nice little film about you there. Thank you.
  4. Chewie, I use Photoshop for the explosions, and it's quite easy to create actions that just let you press F4 when you've painted some with a white brush and smeared it out a little. I use a combination of two techniques. This first one is the best one http://www.tutorialguide.net/explosion_tutorial.html but then I've found some elements from this one http://www.tutorio.com/tutorial/photoshop-...fire-explosion/ that are helpful as well. Feel free to send me links to your stuff, it'd be fun to see the results. And to those of you who don't like the bad language, I can only ask you not to complain about it, because I won't stop using it. Just ignore my comics instead, and make your own with flowers and bees and have fun. I'll lose you as my fans, yes. I think I'll survive.
  5. Too short?!?! Come on, it's 40 photos. People complained that it was too long once when it was 23 photos long. They had modems and didn't have the time not patience to load the pages. You guys are never pleased :P It takes a long time to make one of these. Come here and play with the "snow" and minifigs yourself if you want to. And try to set the guys up without knocking them over when they don't have baseplates to stand on. I see no problem at all with Vader Jugend. The Nazi references in the movies are clear, and the Bush/Hitler/Vader references should be clear in my comics. It's all about politics. And movie quotes in almost every single photo. So if people know stuff about politics and movies, they should get more out of these comics.
  6. Hi there! Well, I feel just as bad as ever for not being active in the forum. But I'm insanely busy, as always. For those of you who still remember my comics, this is a good way of telling you there's been an update. Episode 30 is up, and it's called The Big Chill By the way! There's a lot of bad words in this one. So if you're offended by the words ____, ____ or ____ _____, and don't like to see Lego men bleed or get blown up, don't follow the link below. It starts here http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/53254568 Enjoy, or don't ;-)
  7. Nope, that's not me. That guy is old. I'm young ;-)
  8. Haha, I know she hasn't got a sister. It was more a friendly thing of the other girl to say to Leia. Like someone says "brother" to someone although they're not related. Thanks for the comments. Someone said it was my worst episode ever, and that nothing happened. Well, sometimes I have to move people from one place to the other, and sort of introduce new characters (Jar Jar) and let things happen in order to make things fit in the future. Believe it or not, there's a plot behind all of this, and things that happen have (in most cases) some sort of meaning. But people can think what they want. There are always plans for more, but my life is sort of filled with a lot of other things to take care of right now. But I'll keep on making more episodes.
  9. EDIT by xwingyoda: *WARNING - EXPLICIT CONTENT* Well, I've got too much to these days. Most of this episode was shot on August 10, I think. And I found time to finish it today. Maybe you've forgotten about why Leia and the other girl are driving around in the corridors. I don't think it matters, you'll get the story anyway. I hope :P Here it is: http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/50052151
  10. Wow, thank you for the kind words :) You guys make it all worth the little extra effort I have to put into these. I didn't use that many special effects this time (laser beams or explosions), but it worked out anyway. It'll be a true challenge to create a star wars battle, but I'll give it a shot. I've got all the ships I need (from both sides) and since I've figured out how to makes star fields and explosions there's nothing stopping me now I guess. But if I fail, I can always take out the sand again and do an episode on Solo or Chewie. Or return to Luke in the Faketrix... Hmm, it was more than a year ago we saw something from him. But I think we'll survive without Luke. He's such a whimp anyway ;) By the way. Most of the text with "bad" language in this episode (and several others) are memorable quotes from movies. Some might be easier to spot than others. I've gotten complaints about this episode already, but I hope I don't offend too many of you out there :/
  11. Haha, I'm happy to see that I had you convinced :) Actually, I've only got ONE of each ship, and the X-Wing and A-Wing aren't the official sets. I guess a lot of you could see that my X-Wing was kind of custom made although I took most of the design from the official one. I even put a note below one of the photos that said that I had cloned most of the ships in Photoshop. I'll add a link to my behind the scenes-gallery later on. (like, now: http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/41465972) I'd be even crazier if I spent that much on Lego. I'm crazy enough as it is, regarding other things :) Thanks for commenting.
  12. I'm back with a new episode. "The Big Turnaround" starts here: http://www.pbase.com/image/41444822 It'll probably be easier to follow the story if you take a look at episode 31 first (available here: http://www.starwarslego.rocks.it ), but you might get it anyway. It's not that complicated after all. I've had complaints about the gore and offensive language before, so those of you who are sensitive to such things should be aware that I still include such things in my comics. I know of at least one father who banned his son from ever visiting my site again. Oh well, they make their choices, and I make mine. Enjoy, or don't ;)
  13. Er... I'm sorry for not being active, and for not reading through all these comments. I just saw that you discussed the word 'Viking' and maybe this explanation has already been given above. Please don't kill me for that. I'm a Swede, and I've studied Nordic languages at the University. Therefore, I've studied Icelandic, and in class we talked a lot about the Vikings. According to the teacher, the word simply comes from the words "vik" and "ing". Vik in Swedish means "bay" and the suffix "-ing" is just a determiner that says that you have this ability or that you are this. You know, like a man from Iceland is an "isl
  14. Well, what if you told the Lego corp. that someone must have stolen him (and a bunch of other cool models) :oo. What could they do? Claim that you're lying? :/ Come on, can't you invite us all in for a weekend of building with all the bricks you have in the store. We could make some pretty cool MOCs for you to have as display models in the store :)
  15. Yes, I've got about a 120 stormies and as many officers. Making scenes like these ones, http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/20380641 and http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/17461503 would require hours of setting up and Photoshop tricking. And that wouldn't be worth it just for one shot :) I don't live in the US, though, so I've ordered stuff from Bricklink and sold a whole bunch of Lukes from Final Duel II. I'm still on the plus side when it comes to my Imperial minifigs collection (I got more money for the Lukes than I paid for Final Duel II sets), but if I look at how much I spent on the ISD, I guess I'm on the minus side ;-) But then again, it was worth it. Without it, I couldn't be able to build sets for my comics.
  16. It's all very simple actually, and I wish I'd thought of using this method before. I thought it was trickier than it was. I think all of you could create a photo that gave the impression that you had a whole bunch of vehicles or minifigs or whatever if you wanted to. All you need is a copy of Photoshop, and a little time and patience :) A tripod is useful as well, so that you can take several shots from the exact same angle. Like in the seven first photos of this gallery http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/behind_the_scenes You can see that I somehow managed to move the camera just a little in the two last photos of the shuttle. In this case it didn't matter, since I used the background from the first photo only. Joining two or more images like this in Photoshop isn't difficult at all. All you have to do is to open the two images and then drag one of the on top of the other. The shortcut key to get the move tool is V, and if you hold down SHIFT when you drop the image it'll be centered. Then you'll get two layers, obviously. Now adjust the opacity of the layer, so that you see what's underneath it, in the background image. Pressing 6 is all you need to do actually, that'll give you 60% opacity. Make sure the layer that you dragged on top of the other is selected, and then use the eraser tool (shortcut key E) where i.e. the shuttle that you want to copy into the new image is located in the background image. You can use my shuttle photos to try it out if you want to, it's not as complicated as I might have made it sound here. If there's something you need explained more in detail, I'll do my best to help you. If one of you has got a 100 stormies, you can easily make it look like you've got 200 just by moving the base plate they're standing on a little to the left and then do a little magic with Photoshop :)
  17. Haha, well, sorry for disappointing you then. I'll try to be more surprising in the future. I had an alternative ending for this one, but it'd mean I'd have to take seven more photos and fix them all up. And I wanted to get the episode up before the end of the week, because now I'm leaving town again. But thanks for taking a look, and I'm glad you liked the title of the second book :)
  18. Okay, no duel with Luke this time either, but I'm sure this one is more interesting anyway. Maybe I'll just forget about Luke, I don't want to do anything more on him actually :) If you haven't read episode 30 yet, you might want to do so to understand why Leia and two other rebels are in an Imperial shuttle and why they're on their way to a Star Destroyer. But you'll get most of the story anyway, without reading that episode first. I'm not too satisfied with how the Tie Fighters turned out when I shrunk the image to fit on the screen. There are a lot of them in the first image, I just wanted to tell you that since they'll probably not even be noticeable. Okay, I've bored you enough with this talk I guess. Here's the episode: http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/39480287 By the way, I've only got one of those Imperial shuttles. And one copy of Photoshop ;) Enjoy, or don't :)
  19. Well, it's rewarding when I'm satisfied with my work, and it's a film that it's likely that people will see. Some times I get to do the subtitles for Miami Vice, McGuyver or Knight Rider.....who on earth would want to buy such things on DVD? Okay, nostalgia from the 80's, but still. The market can't be that big. When I do such things it's almost embarrassing to have my name on it. But then again, not many people will ever know that I was the translator, since noone watches it :)
  20. I'm happy to see that Ray (a good film about the blind singer Ray Charles, who died last year) is nominated, because then more people will get to know about it. I spent 30 hours on it last week, and my neck still hurts. My mission was to do the Swedish subtitles on the Director's Commentary of the Director's Cut version. Three hours is a bit too much, and the director wouldn't stop talking about it. A lot of talking means a lot of subtitles, and I'm paid per subtitle, so I should be happy, but it was a pain to translate it into Swedish and I really hope people will go and rent or buy it when it shows up on DVD. Otherwise it'll feel as if I've done all that work just for myself, and that's not quite worth it. So, go and rent it, and choose the Swedish language track even though you might understand Swedish :)
  21. I guess I'm not around as often as I should be, so maybe I'm not the right person to say 'Welcome'. But this is a cool place with friendly and talented people, and I'm sure you're friendly as well. And everybody has a talent, so you'll fit right in :) Now, start building, and take photos of what you build, and post it here! ;)
  22. Well, in the world of Lego, everything is possible. Michael Jackson wears white gloves, and this guy wears yellow ones. Okay, thanks... now I'll have something to take care of. Maybe it was you who pointed that out to me in another episode as well, and I had to change it. I don't have any brown hands, but I guess black hands are better. I'll see what I can do. You can do anything in Photoshop :) Actually, the guy on the far left was holding the walkie talkie in the first shot (in this image you see that the guys on the left hold their hands in the exact same position, since I stole one of the hands and put the walkie in the black man's hand) http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/33855548. Then I realized that the black guy could act as Vader's (Bush's) right hand (Powell), and that he was going to be the one to inform Vader about the new situation. But how should he know about it if he didn't have a walkie talkie? So I cloned it from the guy on the left. Did I make myself clear? If not, it doesn't matter :) Thanks for the kind words, Rickard (Ras 74). Take a look at the rest of the episodes, and I'll drop you a note later. Always fun to get to know new people :)
  23. Well, actually I'm not too happy about the laser beams. Since I made the scenes dark, the beams would have been better off with some red outer glow to them. As you might see, I used a red thread that I put up between the bricks. At first I thought it'd be easier to just draw the lines in Photoshop, but I didn't want to bother figuring out where the lines should cross each other and what angles they'd have and so on. So I put the thread up instead. My cat walked into the set and made a little mess, so in one of the shots you can see that the thread isn't as tightly stretched as it should be. I couldn't fix it in Photoshop. I wanted to give them an outher glow effect, but it'd take me a week to draw all those lines by hand and try to make it look good. So I guess I'll have to be happy about this, and make it better the next time. But I'm happy to see that you're satisfied with them :) Copmike: I've actually already got the main set built for the next episode. At first I thought I'd just show then heading for the ISD, and then show what happened at the scene. But then I found a way to make an episode out of the preparations as well, and here we are now. Jipay: Yes, since Harrison Ford is in both Indiana Jones and Star Wars I thought it'd be good to include that reference here. I've done that before, as you might have seen. It's easy to spot the reference to Entrapment in this one I guess, and a little one to Ocean's Twelve. There are lots of references to movies in my earlier episodes, and maybe some of them are a bit far-fetched. But it doesn't matter if people get them or not. But if they do, I think it's a nice little bonus :) Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you liked it.
  24. Here's the 30:th episode, called "The Big Mission" (I'm sorry about the dorky titles, but I can't stop now) http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/39031456 Okay, it's 05:30 in the morning now. I'm off for bed. EDIT: I hotted up the effects of those laser beams a little. I think it looks a lot cooler now, so I'm sorry for not trying this out before I posted them in the first place.
  25. The Viking sets look cool, apart from the monsters. I'll buy the sets and build monsters of my own I guess. Maybe I can sell the Bionicle monsters on Ebay. I found a Lego Viking ship on Ebay today, and wonder if there's something I've missed. They've never released this one, have they? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW My guess is that the dad selling it for his son has mistaken it for M__ablocks or something. Or what do you say?
