  1. Thanks for the comments :) Two people have already asked me what the thing was on top of Vader in that image. They didn't see that it was a monkey head :| I thought it was pretty clear, but maybe I should have shot it from a different angle. One has "complained" about the blur effect in the images as well. I thought it was a cool zoom effect, and that it helped the scene. I guess I can't please everyone, but I'm happy to see that some like it at least. The pilot is clean from Coke now, don't worry about it. I lost the AT-AT pilot head between the scenes, but I guess that noone will notice that it's not the same face unless I tell them ;) I haven't thought about what Jesus and Eduardo will do, but I'll think of something. Part two of this one continues with Solo. I'll post it later this week, probably...
  2. Okay, I've uploaded another episode of my Star Wars comics. I was going to make only one episode, but since I know that some of you still have dial-up connections, I figured that 40 images would be a bit too much for you. So I've made two episodes out of it instead, and as soon as I've put text on the second one, I'll post it here :) As you might remember, Jesus, the Rebel leader, has found his brother Eduardo, an Imperial leader. Together with Han Solo, they're fleeing in an imperial shuttle (not a flying one ) inside the Imperial bunker. The Big Mistake starts here: http://www.pbase.com/mistermattias/image/33855538 Please vote for the gallery if you like it. Just read the text below the last image, and you'll see where to go.
  3. A big slaughter? No, that'd mean more blood, and I'm not using more blood... :< It's a good idea, but I think that the Sand People are cool people, so I'd rather have them killing some stormies... or maybe the Jawas that have been left helpless out there in the middle of the desert since the droids have stolen and crawled away in their sandcrawler. I think I'll continue with Han and the guys in the next episode, but I've got a lot of people to do follow-ups on. Boba is on his way to Jabba with the new droid. Chewie must end up somewhere after his half of the twin pod crashes. Luke is about to fight a duel in the virtual reality game. The droids... what's supposed to happen to them? The rebels that have stolen the AT-AT must use it for something. And the rebels in the caterpillar tank must do something as well. And I've still got Ties and a Tie Bomber to include, as well as The MF, A-wings and B-wing. I only wish I could have more time for creating new episodes at the moment. I'm doing my best to find time, but I'm working and studying full-time at the moment, so it's not that easy... But you guys are inspiring, so thanks to all who have posted. And to those who have watched this topic as well :) (I don't want to upset people by just continuing a thread that might have lost it's... er... thread... Maybe this one should be locked by now. I'm not exactly writing anything worth reading :P )
  4. Well, I've got about 120 stormies now I think, and almost as many officers. And still around 50 Lukes from Final Duel II, but I've sold most of them to people in this country that didn't have a clue about where to get hold of minifigs :) Actually, my whole stormies collection has cost me nothing in the end, since I've sold other Lego stuff that I didn't need nor want (Ewok catapults, gliders, twin-pods, etc. - I didn't need more than one of each, but I've saved the minifigs B) ). I've bought a bunch of Tusken Raiders on Bricklink, and hopefully I'll find some use for them in my comics. Any ideas are welcome, since I don't quite know what I should let them do. I'm thinking of getting a gungan now, just to be able to use a lighter on him. Thanks for the nice idea you gave me :D
  5. Jipay: Well, although I've got around 400 Star Wars minifigs, I don't own a single gungan. And I will never buy one either. I hate the gungans, and if they ever show up in my comics, I'll make sure that they're cut in slices. Besides, when Han Solo and Luke is around, it wouldn't be chronologically OK to use gungans in the same shot, would it? The blood issue hasn't been a problem to others browsing the site I'm storing my comics at. One reason might be that most of the pbase-users are "older", and that they (as well as I) don't think it's a very big deal. I also know that in some places of the world, violence on TV and at the cinema isn't as accepted as here in Sweden. My parents let me go and see "Silence of the Lambs" when I was 11 (15 years ago), and that's just an example. I might have seen too much blood to think about it that much. In some of the episodes, I've written a note warning the viewers for the somewhat violent contents. And yes, when plastic figures are shot, they should melt. But on the other hand, plastic figures can neither talk nor walk. So maybe I should just position them on the set and let people make up their own lines  Blood is easier to draw in Photoshop than trying to make it look like the figs have melted. I could always use a lighter, though...
  6. jipay - the only background photo I have used is the blue sky, and that's just a cut out from a photo I had lying around. DoubleT - I've actually had more people asking for blood (especially dead stormies) than people asking for less. When I started making them for more than a year ago, I got some complaints about that when you get hit by a laser beam, you don't bleed. Well, I think it looks kind of silly to just have people lying around without blood, so I guess it's just something I started with, and can't stop doing now. Of course, I could refrain from making up a story that involves a lot of killing, but as soon as I've posted an episode without people getting killed, I get tons of complaints. So I guess I'm just following the voice of my own, sick mind (I wasn't at all offended, ApophisV), and the twisted minds of my truly devoted fans out there. They want to see more blood, and therefore they'll get to see it. There are other people around to take care of the stories with the flowers and bees. I'm sure a lot of you people could make some cool comics as well, with a slightly different approach to the story. I'm sorry to say that I haven't had the time to check out the works that all of you have posted. There are surely some other comic maker(s) in here that can go the less gory way. That's my style, and I'm not going to change it. Of course, there are also a lot of episodes that aren't gory. Actually, not all of them contains blood. -_- I've never taken separate photos of the stuff I've built for the episodes. The vehicles are just functional, they're not exactly nice enough to show on their own. But thanks for asking, I might consider taking photos of later work. I'll also be recycling some of the vehicles, and use them in other episodes. That'll give people a chance to see more of them. The AT-AT is, of course, returning, and the trooper shuttle has to do so as well. I think you'll see both of them in the next episode, actually. And for those of you waiting for the return of the caterpillar tank, I can just ask you to continue to wait. I haven't figured out what the imperials should set up against it yet. Speeder bikes wouldn't exactly be able to cause any damage whatsoever to it... ^_^ Thanks for the nice welcome, this seems to be a friendly place.
  7. If you read through all of the episodes, you'll see that most of them are set in a completely Lego-made environment. It's just for the desert I've used sand. And I hate using sand, it's terrible. In one episode, I had a red bed sheet as a "blue screen" (so that I could replace the background), but when I saw the photos in the computer, I saw that the sand had reflected the red color, so I had to redo the whole photo session. Not only because of the sand, though... Because I also had a bunch of pink stormies, they're also good at reflecting colors A good tip for someone who's about to shoot something with a bed sheet as a background is to use something with a more... well... neutral color than dark red... Sand can cause a great mess as well if you take it inside and forget to take it away when you're finished, and the cat finds it ;)
  8. Thanks, jonfett. When I shot the episode, I didn't even know that I had downloaded the nightvision filter. That's why it might seem a little odd that the Jesus-character turns the lights back on again. But I couldn't make the final scene in a green light, then you wouln't be able to see what was going on. I think I used too many movie references in this one, though. I think there were five of them that were kind of obvious. But it might work, I haven't had any complaints about it... yet...
