  1. It has to be Bricklink. Of course if I can have access to the PAB website - should do wonders to the numbers. Apart from the head, the rest of the parts are easily available and can be ordered in large numbers too. Next up will be these Uruk Hais. Not as many as I wanted, but just got to live with it.
  2. Finally built up all the skeletons that was bought ages back. And re-modelled the Skeleton leader. Skeleton King - he is slightly taller than a normal skeleton warrior now :D
  3. For 79015 to 79018, the dates are put as October 2014 - no pictures - sets description listed as Hobbit 5, Hobbit 6, Hobbit 7, Hobbit 8. 79015 box size is 191 x 141 x 46 mm 79016 box size is 282 x 262 x 59 mm 79018 box size is 582 x 378 x 87 mm OK, I missed out on 79017 box size....but that is about all the information I gleaned from the trade catalogue.
  4. I had a look at the trade catalogue, unfortunately, 79015 to 79018 is for The Hobbit: There And Back Again (there is no pictures as to how they look like) and there is no mention of LOTR anywhere. So I must say the situation looks pretty grim for LOTR...
  5. Few years ago - they are great. I acknowledge that too. Whenever I request for a replacement parts - they will be sent out immediately, with no questions asked, not even requesting a receipt. Even if they can't replace it, they sent me a keychain at the very least. That is great of course, but unfortunately, that was also few years ago. Currently, however they are nowhere near that level anymore. Change won't be instantaneous - another point I agree with. But since the surfacing of the quality problem - it has been more than a couple of years (I certainly believe one don't consider this as instantaneous) and they can't get their act together. Keeping costs under control shouldn't means they have to sacrifice the quality, otherwise, they might have to change the motto "det bedste er ikke for godt". I differ in the view, that AFOLs are supposed to understand the company's difficulties, so much so that we come to empathise and willingly accept that they have no choice in certain matters (being forced to accept is somewhat a different matter). To keep the cost under control, maintain the excellent quality and keep the company profitable - that is supposed to be the role of the CEO and whoever that is hired to do the jobs. As AFOLs, our role should be to point out what they have done correctly and what they must improve upon. I will never willingly accept inferior quality/customer service, but sad to say, I am often forced to accept it these days. There is no alternative and recourse - frustrations will build up and maybe one day I may just stop buying totally (although that may be quite difficult). From the business perspective, losing one customer is no big deal though
  6. Is anyone here able to give a definitive answer as to what TLG stance towards replacement or missing/faulty parts? Long, discontinued sets - can't issue replacement parts for this is probably understandable. LEGO sets aren't made to be kept MISB for too long I suppose. Currently available sets - I suppose replacement parts is a must, if there are missing parts. No excuses - they will have to replace it no matter what to be fair. China made sets/stuff, (currently available sets) - I suppose replacement parts is also a must, if they can't, they should find a way to do it. Again, there is no excuse for not doing so. Be it whether or not people take advantage of the system, I feel they should issue replacement. That is what is expected of a top notch customer service, one that befits LEGO. They asked for receipts to verify the purchases - tedious, but probably acceptable way of stamping out people taking advantage of the system. I somehow also feel they belittle the quality issues - be it replacement parts or the defects/quality issues in sets/China made stuff. So far, no visible improvements, at least to me. Is it because LEGO is becoming more and more popular and that people just simply kept buying, even with the existing quality issues?
  7. Those shields are from the Kingdoms chess set - the colors are way way off the mark. A serious problem, if you ask me, much worse than the normal made in China minifigs. There was a review done in Eurobricks on the Kingdoms chess set and my shields have exactly the same issue. Now they are refusing to get it replaced for me... Well, I don't know. I am just not happy with the way they are handling this.
  8. Hi, I notice LEGO Customer Service always choke when I request for replacement for missing parts/damaged parts from sets that are made In China (E.g. Collectible Minifig Series, Chess sets, etc). For example - once was for Series 1, my ninja was missing the headgear and another time for Series 6, my skater was missing her legs. Both times - for the ninja, LEGO sent me a key chain to sort of placate me for the missing part. For the Skater legs, LEGO was also unable to replace it and simply ended giving me a similar leg piece (they claimed it is similar). I am not truly satisfied with what they have done Then now, recently I claimed 14 ovoid Dragon shields (a severe color problem - that I am 100% sure will fail LEGO QC check for colors, if they actually do it in China) from the 7 Kingdoms chess sets I bought recently. They were unable to replace it again and simply gave an convenient excuse, saying it was discontinued, when it is still selling in my local retail stores. Is LEGO truly incapable of replacing any missing/faulty parts from sets that are made in China?
  9. Seeing the responses regarding the quality of the chess set, that is an indication where quality will goes in the future: down for sure.
  10. Some photos on the chess set. Personally I think the quality is a big issue, but LEGO don't care and won't care, no matter what we say. Otherwise such issue would have been stopped at the battlepacks, instead of continuing to use inferior parts into other sets/products. Made in China minifig. Cursed mark confirm this. Quality is bad for the lion, but totally unacceptable for the Dragons (Unfortunately I am not able to provide a picture, but the print and colour of the torso are so dull - it is almost like two different minifigs when you place one from the set beside them) The oval shield is coloured in different shades - it is so different from the one in 7187 that I don't think anyone can use them together in an army.
  11. 1) Sleepyhead Entry (Build by Scootercide) - 3 points
  12. OK...I will present some photos taken of the minifigures inside this pack Yup, as someone mentioned - three colours sword holder. All the torsos has their back printed. And the two fellas with long hair has dual faced heads I do a comparison photo for Jack Sparrow - the one holding the compass is the original one from the set Fountain of Youth. I think this is the picture people is waiting for...the minifigure in this pack is the same as other battlepacks - plastics from China, shown by the lack of neck marking. The arm also has the curse "mark", typical of inferior plastic. Unfortunately I can't get a good picture of that. But if you were to ask me, I think the quality has improved - from the last battlepack I had from Kingdoms, which was totally unacceptable. Though the quality was still can improve when compared to original minifigs from sets.
  13. Just found out a local LEGO exclusive store in Singapore had finally uploaded the image/product to their website. Bricksworld Battle Pack Zombie Product Code: 4638572 But seriously...only Singapore and nowhere else has it??
  14. Well, I suppose discovery are to be verified. I will leave that to TLG or someone more reputable than I am in this forum. I brought these packs from a legitimate LEGO store and shared what I have found for a few reasons - strange selection of minifigs, weird pricing, and of course there is no global news about anything like that prior to my sharing. I am even wondering if we can find these inside the collector guide that was just recently released.
  15. Actually what truly intrigues me about this battlepack was its pricing in Singapore. It was sold at retail price of SG$20.90 - compare this to the retail price of SG$29.90 of 4191 Captain's Cabin. This battlepack has all the minifigs in 4191 and offers 2 additional minifigs for a price much lower. I couldn't make any sense out of such pricing. But it sure provides me with a much more worthwhile purchase as a minifig collector/army builder.
  16. I managed to buy quite a few of it. And apparently according to the retailer, he had tons of it in his warehouse.
  17. Added a picture of the back, hope it is clear enough. Just curious why I could not find any information on this online and Singapore is one of the slow places on Earth to get new LEGO release majority of the time.
  18. Hi, Just wondering if Singapore is the first to get this:- The back of it with the item number Have anyone else came across this? Can't seems to find any information on this battlepack online.
  19. OK...nearly missed out this one...been rather busy. But here I am... Minifigure: Mad Scientist Theme: City Underneath a sewer, you will find teenage mutant ninja turtles. No wait...that got nothing to do with my creation. OK, a mad scientist with his insane experiments not tolerated by his fellow human beings had to seek elsewhere to continue his research - underneath the ground, underneath the sewer is where his lab was being established. And from the pictures we see some remnants of his newest research project... The full view Down into the sewers - it is a pretty dry one (guess the vegetation are quite thirsty)...with a trapdoor leading to the lab and of course a rodent, which is to be expected. Yucks! A skeletonized human being, judging from her expression, she is probably still alive...What the hell is the mad scientist researching upon?! Hope you all like my creation :) And hopefully I will do better than the previous two times.
  20. Prices of POTC are too steep in my country, in my opinion. But at least not yet at SW level. So to put it in another way, I find POTC cheaper compared to SW...but that is not really saying much. No point in arguing. Prices are where they are and no matter how many valid arguments there are, it won't change a thing. And for every point that say prices are downright outrageous, there will be a counter point trying to do a statistic comparison and using inflation to justify prices are actually reasonable, in fact a bargain or other reasoning, such as that business need to maintain healthy profits to survive, or maybe even it is still better compared to SW... End of the day, if you are willing to open your wallet and pay for it, the price is worth it to you.
  21. Ok...this is my entry for the contest. Tried a new way of building - this isn't my usual preferred style. I am pretty amazed by the entries so far - they are good! :) Minifig: Tribal Chief Story: The Tribal Chief riding on his steed and holding his trustworthy spear, looking forward to the next challenging adventure that lies waiting in the far horizons.
  22. Thanks for all comments :) Added a dark tan floor for the barn Yup...the design of the barn door was directly taken from the upcoming Kingdoms set The yellow flowers are supposed to represent corn or wheat - food grown from the farm. My impression of medieval things are largely left behind by the games I play in the 90s - Ultima 7 (probably one can identify this from my Avatar) and maybe in some ways Darklands as well :)
  23. Ok, been wanting to do up this for a while. A medieval barn. A very simple design, but still took quite a number of bricks to build it up. Looking at the back - I left the back empty for easy access. Decided not to do the modular removable roof due to a lack of fitting tiles. We see two cows/buffalos Looking when the front door opened - we see two pigs there, not very clearly as they are blocked by the fences. At the side of the barn, I added rows of cultivated vegetation. And a scarecrow to keep the birds away Hope all of you enjoy this :)
  24. That amount of pigs/cows/buffalos...if you got them from one source at one go...it is extremely impressive...I had not seen the likes of it. And of course the forestmen are also the same, even more so considering they had been discontinued for a long while
  25. Further to add to my previous reply Army of Jesters Army of Wizards Squad of Forestman Series 1 Horde of skeletons
