  1. I think he meant pick-a-brick online, as well. The classic minifig head was avaiable for a long time, but was taken out of the selections last year during a refresh of available parts. I bought a bunch back then. If it's any consolation, the classic smiley is in the new Pet Store. So, for a mere $150, you can get four classic smiley faces!
  2. I'm fortunate enough to have a Lego store within 25 miles of home. I bought this set, and I actually bought it last Tuesday. Our family has put it together and I must say, it is worth it's price. You get a bunch of elements, the colors are great, the detail is nice, and that you can split it up as two buildings is just a bonus. So, thumbs up. Go get it.
  3. Sort of gives new meaning to "sitting on the pot".
  4. This is most certainly worth being produced. =)
  5. it's a whale of a tale.

  6. This is outstanding! Outstanding probably doesn't even do it justice! I want to copy your design!!! =)
  7. Yes! The pitchfork! Now, if they'd just bring back the cypress tree!
  8. Wasn't this part created new for the GE? Or was it created new last year and just found its way to the GE? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=bb424
  9. Bring back the Cypress! =-)
  10. That is why you use progressivly finer "grits" of wet/dry sandpaper. You have to use it wet, and you use the more coarse paper to sand out the scratch. Then you use progressivly finer paper to sand out the (buff out, really) the scratches made by the sand paper you just used. At the end, you use some sort of polish...such as Brasso, certain waxes, etc. See here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43020 and here: Good luck!! http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/tnt1/001-100/TNT037_Polishing_Canopies/tnt037.htm
  11. You will have to use progressively finer grades of wet sanding paper. Use wet/dry sanding paper, that is made especially to get wet. You'll ought to talk to some of the folks in the scale modeling community....
  12. That is very well done. I love the colors. It's a nice build! Merry Christmas!
  13. I think it's a must have. Your review is well done. I especially like your comparison to the Rocky River Retreat. Ah, the classics!
  14. Well, if I were independantly wealthy...I'd collect 'em all! I have all of my classic space and classic castle sets from when I was younger. I also have the classic firestation (374, but in red), fireboat (316), and coastguard station (575). Now that I'm a Daddy, our family collection has branched out a bit. Plus, getting the wife & the little one on-board with collecting Lego has only made the collection that much better! So... The old stuff: Classic Space Classic (yellow) Castle stuff Classic town - odds & ends The new stuff: Lego City Lego City - the farm sets! Some Lego Train Space Police Creator / Modular Buildings I find myself trying to pick up the various classic space sets that I missed when I was younger. Classic space, how do I love thee.....
  15. Have you tried bricklink? www.bricklink.com Oops, my bad. I see that you already stated you tried bricklink. Good luck!!

    LL Numbers

....the system was LL followed by a number which happened to be the number of the set -- the European set number that is, because back then US sets used different number series . Why LL? Maybe it stands for Legoland, maybe it's just random, I'm not sure. Known official examples include: LL 918 One Man Spaceship LL 924 Space Transporter LL 928 Galaxy Explorer .... I have the US versions of these sets, from when I was a wee-little-lad. The LL numbers are the same as you quoted.
  17. I think it's pretty awesome. It would be nice if Lego would do a series of aircraft, etc. from an historical approach.... Your work is really good. Thanks for sharing the instructions!
  18. I don't know about now, but it wasn't so long ago that the USPS (Post Office) would be happy to ship priority mail boxs to your door, for free. Basically, you'd get a box containing all of a whatever-sized-boxes you ordered. The boxes are, of course, folded. Of course, the PO is expecting you to use their shipping service. Did I mention the price....free? Of course, in this day, that may have changed. I do all my shipping w/ the USPS, and I use paypal. You can measure the box, and weigh it, at home. Then you input your information on the calculator, and it spits out a pre-printed postage label. Tape it on, and drop it off at the PO. Try to keep the packing box as small as possible. If you're shipping Lego sets in their original boxes, then good old corrugated cardboard, closely matching the size of the Lego package, should work nicely. You can include a layer of packing peanuts or other packing material, of course. Usually, not not always, it seems the size of the package determines more about the cost than the weight of the package. That could also depend on if you shipping w/in the USA or outside the country. Good luck. What are you selling? =)
  19. Is there any word on when the Green Grocer, 10185, will be discontinued? Thanks!!
  20. One would think they could do a church or catherdal. I mean, can you think of a town that doesn't have at least one churhc or catherdal in it?
  21. That is rather beautiful!
  22. Cafe Corner: http://cgi.ebay.com/DISCONTINUED-NIB-Lego-...=item2eadad3b2e Cargo Train: http://cgi.ebay.com/DISCONTINUED-Lego-Carg...=item2eada24ebd I'm in the USA. I typically don't ship out of the USA, but since it's Lego, I'll make an exception. =-) Thanks!! Jonathan
  23. Well....... In the USA, the estimated back order ship date was June 30, but that has since been revised to June 17. So, I'd think that's a good sign that you've got at least one more run at it....
