The base seems to have a very open, sparse design. At first, I thought the jail was just a cage for the little mini-digger to park in, but it looks like they're actually dumping lava monsters in there. Umm... which side are the good guys again? I've always been a little unsure about that, but now.... I too hate the bloo; red, I can understand a little, since they've reached lava - though orange would've been neater - but all of that blue should be green. The colour scheme doesn't seem to have been popular with many people, myself excepted because I love it, but it was consistent. It looks horrible when diluted with two more. Maybe the blue is there because they're using water now, but it's still a bad idea. Though, I suppose the miner minifigs all wore blue. The pincer claws, surely, should be orange. As for the new yellow rock monster, hell yeah, and that means yellow cyrstals! Dunno about anyone else but I love those cyrstal pieces.

RC is smaller than I thought; basically, I plain suck when it comes to judging the size of models from box shots. Still, loads more lime green. That may become my official colour....

"Natężenie Świadomości" by Polish singer Grzegorz Turnau. Repeating over and over. I'm trying to memorize it. That, and "Bracka."

I just finished the last of Star Trek: DS9 season 5 last night, and I'm trying to save up so I won't be getting season 6 for a while. So, I'm kinda not watching anything at the 'mo, but I normally do.

You know what else is funny? When you run two words together like this, it's called a "contraction."

Is the alien in that photo smaller than everybody else? If so, is it a digital trick? 'Cuz if the fig is smaller, his feet would need to be proportionally larger in order to fit the studs, and they don't seem to be. But his torso definitely looks smaller than the Prospector's. Edit: Never mind, booger's, like, one minute faster than me.

Toy Story is getting two big poseable models along with a bunch of regular ones. I suppose it's possible that Ben 10 is the same, and we just happen to be seeing one of the big ones first.

The tree looks kinda delicate, the technic brick looks like it'd snap off easily. On the other two, it's held on with another brick above. But then, these do look pretty light. The Santa's a little odd, but I like the look of the other two. Cute!

Exo-Force is what got me back into Lego and that was the first thing that I thought when I saw the box art. It's a little too unclear to really make out how unique the pieces are, though; too close to Bionicle and I'm not interested. I need something, to quote Watto, "a little more reeeeal." The lack of minifigs doesn't really bother me. Actually, the focus on minifigs was one of the things that really surprised me when I first started checking out the AFOL community a couple of months ago :)

I meant the scene from the computer game at the start of Toy Story 2, with the hovering platforms. Though, they probably wouldn't be able to fit the spike corridor and the 5,000,000 super battledroids....

Is that the full line-up? Darn, I was hoping for Zurg's fortress. Lotso is apparently a big pink teddy bear: http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/his-n...-in-toy-story-3

Indy as a license isn't really set up to fit the UCS theme. It's not like Star Wars, it has no vehicles to showcase. The only ones that even come close, that I can think of, are the Zepplin and the circus train. Haven't seen Crystal Skull. No, in contrast to Star Wars, I think Indy showcases its scenery more than its machinery. UCS might, at a stretch, accomodate that, like maybe a detailed replica of the map room?

And I thought you meant eight studs at the shoulder, not the wingspan Okay, so everybody's on the same page here? Good! *shudder* that Buzz minifig head (and the Woody one) still gives me the creeps, like when I first saw it. That'll take some getting used to.
-
I doubt the minifig's wings move, they look too small and narrow to fold in. However, they do probably clip on separately to the rest of his gear.

1x4s, I'd actually completely forgotten about those. I'd only been thinking about 2x2s, which the signs definitely are not to my eye, but they could be 1x4s now that you mention it. The Wanted poster's probably held together with a regular 2x2 plate on the back of two 1x4s. I've always reckoned that the jeep hood is a pair of 2x2s. On Buzz's wings; it took me a minute to realise y'all were talking about the big one, I was looking at the little minifig and thinking "eight studs wide, whah?"

My name's a pun on "dungeon." The full story is a lot longer than that (i.e. why I went with "dungeon" at all) but it's also pretty boring, so that satisfies most people.

I'm pretty sure we had those pictures already, but they were taken down because they have "Confidential" written on them. Or it could have been a different thread. I don't usually get exceited about licensed lines but I really am getting more and more interested in these as time goes on. The best thing, I think, is how few pieces are shared between the sets; most lines tend to share the same basic pool of bricks, but none of these sets has anything in common with the others. It'd make an awesome display.

The "Wanted" poster outside the sheriff's door looks like a 2x4 tile too. That'd be pretty unstable if it were a pair of 2x2s.

Hmm, not too gone on the the giant Zurg anymore. I didn't think the body would just be two purple cylinders. Will probably acquire the RC and giant Buzz sets. Maybe the army men if I have funds left.

Review: 8968 River Heist
Dunjohn replied to Luke McAwesome's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good to see that the orange boat base isn't just a single piece, but two smaller hull sections; far more useful, and I couldn't tell from examining the box. Looks like a nice set, so your review has just moved it up the list for me. Cheers! -
Whats Your Favorite Agents Set?
Dunjohn replied to Go Cubs Go!'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have Gold Hunt, Jetpack Pursuit and Gold Tooth's Getaway from 2.0. I'd love Robo Attack (Exo-Force is what got me back into Lego), but it's a little way out of my price range right now. Of the ones I have, I thought the car from Gold Hunt was fantastic; a lovely, sturdy, chunky build. The jet and pile of gold bricks weren't too shabby either. -
Blood would be right out, for me. So would Tarantino-style glorified personal violence, and Halo-style killing. Exo-Force and Agents-style exaggerated action is fine in my book. Mech combat is fine. I suppose any violence where everybody gets to walk away is grand for Lego. It's a very difficult line to define, and there will probably be tiny difference for everyone.

I'm not liking the new bigger minifigs, but that giant Buzz "constraction" thingy looks rather nice. Depending on price - and alas, I avoid most licensed stuff because of that - I may get it. But the larger, more detailed minifigs, ugh. And since what I've seen of the Ben 10 cartoon suggests that it's strongly based on strange-looking characters, this may be a slippery slope....

I got a few of the STAPs to bulk out my army a bit. Wish I'd known about the Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper ones in time, but I don't normally read the Mirror. I did manage to get a token for the walker, and the shop lady was nice enough to give me the speeder as well when I asked. Aaanyhow, love the use of microphones and lightsabre handles on this. Also a good few useful pieces I needed more of, so all in all, a great little set.

The only Star Wars character who's even close to Kit Fisto in terms of coolness is Grand Admiral Thrawn. I'd love a minifig of him. Dunno what set it would come with, though. His flagship was a fairly standard Star Destroyer. Maybe one of those Interdictor-class ones. Or a Wild Karrde set. Man, this is so unlikely to ever happen.
