We've seen hooded elves in Helms Deep. I know they aren't from Mirkwood but as deskp already mentioned they have hoods as well. I think hooded elves aren't unrealistc at all. A new helmet would have been nice but I can understand if we don't get too many new molds.

Minifigs and creatures are more important than the buildings because it's easier to MOC your own e.g. Minas Tirith set than the Witch King or Fell Beast.

This version looks a lot better than the 2013 version. I will definitly buy it!

- Dol Guldur Ambush - Mirkwood Elf Army - Dol Guldur Battle

Osgiliath would be a great set for a small wave. They could include a lor of characters and the ruins offer a lot of play features.
-
I could explain it to you again but I don't think it would make sense. Have a nice day! ;)

I wrote that we still need "SOME" of the important sets! We have a lot (most) of the important stuff. I know that! (I saw the movies and I also read the books) Maybe you should read my post again.

People don't hate him but he is typical for the whole theme. They didn't give us some of the most important characters/locations but things like the Pirate Ship and Mouth of Sauron. It simply doesn't make sense.
-
Yes, but that's still better than leaving him out like the Witch King or Eowyn and I think Saruman would have been a great exclusive for the set. At least better than Grima. I still hope they are concentrating on the Hobbit movies (and Lego Movie) at the moment and we will get the third LotR wave afterwards.
-
TLG already gave us minifigures of characters with even less screen time. But I know what you mean.
-
Thanks, but I don't have all Hobbit sets. "Only" LotR.

I totally agree! I really like the colours and the architectual details but it could have been better. I understand that play features are necessary but when I was a kid I wanted the sets to be as realistic as possible. Play features were nice but they were not the reason why I bought/wanted the sets. But I guess I'm in the minority. I think the troll shield is the most accurate version but I wouldn't be surprised if we get a new shield because it could be used for other themes as well.

I know! I mean: it's a nice idea and I hope this helmet wouldn't be too big.
-
No. I like his helmet too. I hope the updated version won't be too big if it consists of three parts.
-
Of course, every set could be bigger ;) Unfortunately Council of Elrond seems to be too small for AFOLs and not exiting enough for kids. I think the sets that we still need are similar to the ones that obviously sold very well (battle scenes and army builders)
-
I wanted to write "will", then I wrote "should" but your version is probably the most accurate one ;)
-
I think the whole second wave indicates that we should get another one:D I'm happy that we will get Galadriel and I also think we won't get a Lothlorien set. Such a set would have been a beautiful one but apparently the Council of Elrond isn't selling very well and Lothlorien would be a similar set in terms of new minifigures and play features.
-
I couldn't resist and ordered the Elrond polybag today. My LotR collection is now complete :) Now I have to wait for a third LotR wave!
-
No new sets in 2014 (summer wave). I don't think he would announce the end of the theme in the comment section.

http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=9818 Greedo will be in the Cantina set ;)
-
I think nobody expected LotR sets at the Toy Fair but I hope people ask them if we will get a third wave!
-
Ah! I still need him! ;)
-
The AT-AT will be smaller than the previous versions!? That is disappointing :/
-
I think so too. But that would 100 %, not 50 %.
-
What? 60 €? I can't imagine that!
