Finally! Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO! ...Oh, it's Castle. At least the sail will be a good logo for the heavy metal band I'm going to make...
-
Oh yeah, that's the official explanation, but everyone knows that it's really an evil conspiracy...

Welcome to Eurobricks General! See you around. :-)

Glad to hear it Wobo. *y*

Membership is free. There is however an option to buy a paid membership. However, as Asuka said, it's completely optional.

Thanks guys! @Asuka: I didn't decide what kind of company it was... X-D @Bonaparte: I might make it part of a larger town eventually, if I can find enough of the right peices.

I worked on this a little bit a couple days ago and finished it today. I think it looks pretty good, better than my last MOC for sure. Anyway check it out! It's a small, peaceful corner of LEGO City. The white and black building houses a small company-that's their logo you see on top, and their businessmen coming toting suitcases. There's also a 2-story building to the left of that, a bench, shrubbery, and more. Gallery Overview Other View Close Up Inside the Building Make sure to look at all the pictures! Enjoy, and please leave comments.

Virginia Tech Shootings, 33 killed, including shooter!!!
conductorjoe replied to Corpreal363's topic in Community
This thread kind of sucks. Why is everyone talking about Bush, Israel, and Darfur? We're supposed to be discussing the shooting at Virginia Tech, not another "what's wrong with the world" argument. People have been committing atrocities since the beginning of time. It's nothing new. No laws, military force, security equipment, or politicians can stop it. Banning guns would be just like Prohibition-it would still be very easy to get them, except with organized crime involved. Nothing-absolutely nothing, no power in the world save God himself came down to intervene-can always stop someone from killing another human being. There's really no way to stop this kind of thing from happening, save making humanity perfect, which we all know will never happen. There are so many factors possible here...Their childhood, parenting, friendships, social habits, religion, jobs, relationships, addictions. There will always be a reason, at least in a killer's mind, to commit a crime. As long as people harbor the ability in their mind to do something like this, it will happen. I've been watching this on the news today and yesterday. Horrible. I know someone who goes there...luckily they are okay. All the VA tech people and their families are in my prayers. -
LEGO joins with NetDevil to create an MMOG
conductorjoe replied to Chuck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm looking forward to seeing more info about it! If anybody wants to discuss it or just check out all the info and stuff I just made the first ever fansite for it, BrickMMOG.com. Click the link to visit. ;) -
@Starwars: Heh, you're right. What I mean is that it you will probably be able to "level" your character or change him based on things you do in the game, which usually means people will call it an RPG, whether it is one or not. I really hope it's not just like Blockland or something where all you can do is build and can't really make an lasting impression on the game world.
-
In essence the word "MMOG" should go out of use. It is simply a technical word. An MMORPG is: Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game Role Playing Game. That means you assume a role that is not the one you play in real life. There is not a single video game in the world where you do not assume a role different than your person in real life. Very simple. The fact that most MMORPGs are violent, leveling-driven fantasies does not change the definition of the word. RPG games also usually means that you will be able to gain new things to do in the game as you invest more time into playing and complete "quests" and such. So your character will not stay the same forever. Going back to what I said a minute ago about the definition of MMORPG, it would be nice to see LEGO take the "MMORPG" label and do something totally new with it.

Online version of the Sims? Nah. :P If you any of you are familiar with World of Warcraft, Everquest, SWG, Runescape, and other MMOGs, you can get an idea of what this game will be like. Hopefully it will be different from the usual focus on leveling and such. FPS games aren't MMOGs. MMOG means that you are on the same server playing with thousands of other people-as in you can all stand together and see each other, all thousand of you, on your monitor. @Asuka: Thanks =D

Welcome to EB Toaroni! Enjoy yourself. *sweet*

Well I'm proud to announce I've made the first ever fansite/resource site for the upcoming LEGO MMOG. (More info here). X-D As you can imagine there's barely anything there right now, since all we have is the press release and the LEGO Page as far as game info goes. The site design is pretty simple right now, but after game content like screenshots and stuff becomes available, I'll update the site accordingly and eventually make a "full" site that actually looks like a site for the game. The url is http://brickmmog.com. If you're interested in playing the game or are just curious, please stop by the forum! I just put the forum online 10 minutes ago so there's no one there right now. X-D

LEGO joins with NetDevil to create an MMOG
conductorjoe replied to Chuck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm an avid MMORPG player, currently I'm beta testing Lord of the Rings Online. =D I think this could really be a success. LEGO has a whole bunch of fans, and they've had some popular computer games. I mean just the Lego.com games are like the most popular web games on the Net. If they had this I think a lot of people would be interested in playing. MMOWise, it would be a pretty unique venture. Especially with the "build your own content" thing. I think even people who aren't into LEGO could like this game because of some of its features. If they advertise it well and keep prices lower than normal MMOs(at least a discount of some sort to get kids to play), it could be a big hit. They could stick ads for it inside LEGO sets, the LEGO Mag, etc... Let's hope they do this right. -
Hey, welcome to Eurobricks! When I saw that "Good News Everyone" title I thought you might be a spambot...I was just looking for "New! Visit (Insert fraud site here).
-
Thanks for the feedback. I'll do that. @UltraPrime: Heh, that's...umm...interesting. @Optimax: Thanks. =) @Phes: Yeah I thought it might add a little unique-ness if I had him wearing a suit. X-D

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=237560 This isn't really much of an MOC since it is just a minifigure. I've been experimenting with stuff like this, using bricks as parts on a minifig, and it's kind of fun. Any suggestions as to how I could improve my technique with this? I wanted to make a sort of near-future sci-fi cyborg guy. The rifle is meant to be a machine gun, (I didnt have a Batman one to use :P) by the way. His face is some Aquanauts console thing.

Axle is a KFOL with a lot less resources(bricks, camera, etc.) than you. Give him a break. If you want to help him give him some tips, if you don't have anything good to say don't post. Cool stuff Axle! I might've seen some of those before on iBricks.

This is getting terribly off topic. X-D My BZP name is, surprisingly, conductorjoe.
