  1. Been a long time since I posted a message here - even forgot my username temporarily - but this piece of news was a bit of a surprise to me and just wanted to add my two cents. I kind of gave up on Lego as a whole after the ending of Hero Factory since I was burned out by themes ending prematurely without proper endings (first Exo Force, then Bionicle G1 and then Hero Factory) and having to financially reinvest in a new line every 2-3 years. though I still kept up with prominent Lego news here and there for general curiosity and old times sake. Even though I never followed the G2 line - in sets or story - I do feel quite sad reading this news as I can really imagine how disappointed some people are feeling as I was when G1 ended. Had a quick watch of the last episode of JTO and that Makuta set looks like it would have been one of the best sets of G2 if it had come out - really a shame as I didn't think it was too much to expect a new Makuta set to be released somewhere in the G2 life cycle among other things I guess in terms of moving on, let's hope that Lego takes what it can from G2 and use it to make a new and even better constructable figure line that everyone can enjoy, a sentiment that has been said several times already in this forum. Though of my own personal added opinion, I would like to encourage Lego to avoid getting into the pattern of ending a theme (particularly with those that have a relatively interesting story) outright or at least with a sense that the fans have lost something even if it was tied up quickly - in this case it was the MOUP for the G2 fans (personally for me it was never getting the fifth G1 Bionicle movie after reading GregF's teaser script or the corresponding sets that would have come from it ) as having a long favorite series cut prematurely, Lego or any other entertainment medium, can really ruin someone's day, even more so for the dedicated fans who kept to said series since its beginning. In most cases, I feel better planning and foresight could reduce disappointment in fans - as some have said already, if one more wave of G2 was released in 2017 including the Makuta set, I think this announcement would've been a lot easier to take in. But still, despite all that's said, it was really refreshing seeing a lot of familiar users that I frequently saw 2-3 years back still remaining active on the Eurobricks forums and giving the same passionate thoughts and opinions in their posts exactly as they did before, even as this might be a sadder day for some. Unfortunately I have lost most of my passion in Lego as reiterated earlier, something that I considerably miss but it was definitely worthwhile coming back here and to remind myself of this ever present and active community, even if it was for a brief moment only
  2. There are some price cuts (about 20%) on Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and Marvel sets in ModelZone (probably because they're going into administration). Biggest price cuts I saw in the Croydon branch was a Millennium Falcon (7965 I think) at £106 (same as Amazon.co.uk) and the Batcave (6860) at a reduced price (sorry, I couldn't see the price tag), but there were very few sets left in stock.
  3. For those in the UK, the Lego Shop now has the new Hero Factory sets :D EDIT: Actually, they're pretty much everywhere now - Tesco's, Argos, Amazon, Lego shops
  4. 1 point to Gambrodon 1 point to Vidurr 1 point to Koboldon
  5. I'm really digging that crocodile hand and the fact that the figure has four menacing arms. The back is relatively well covered, but it still looks a bit incomplete and it would be great if you could cover the upper arms with some armour. However, overall I think this is a more innovative and better combiner than the original one.
  6. No, Smyths will have them out on the 26th, if you check individual in-store availability it will say out of stock till that date. But it's only a 6 day wait, so it's pretty much in stock I guess.
  7. http://www.tesco.com...equestid=764480 (scroll to the bottom) Need I say more? :D Although Stormer is missing and it's still ashame that they're not out in Lego stores - where are you my promotion! :(
  8. Unfortunately, I just called Bluewater Lego Store and they told me that they don't have an exact date to when they are coming out - just that it will be somewhere in August (silent cry... :I ). They did, however, tell me to call later this month to double check, maybe we'll be lucky? I guess the best thing to do is to ask your closest Lego Store near the end of the month to see if they get stock early so that you could get the promotion with the new sets.
  9. Wow.....just wow. I think this is in the top best 5 MOCs I've ever seen on eurobricks. The design is so innovative. I absolutely love the torso design with the two pohatu masks :D
  10. You have got to be joking me. And I thought these sets were going to be released in June.
  11. I might call a UK Lego branch tomorrow to check when wave 2 is being released. Then we might finally get some confirmation. Smyths toy store are releasing them on the 26th July, so at least the sets will be available before August, plus Argos is about to release their new catalogue which will probably have the new sets. On another note though, does anyone know why there is such a difference to when the sets are released in different countries (e.g. they released in early June for the US, but the UK still hasn't got them), is it like a buisness strategy for TLC or is it just random every year to when the sets are released.
  12. Well, reviews aren't far away from now: Oh, my bad one's already up of Frost Beast for those interested:
  13. Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but the brain attack episode is up in english on the Hero Factory website: http://herofactory.l...sode-22min-2013 And is it just me, or has Furno's voice actor changed?
  14. Atamaii's coverage on the Nuremberg Toy Fair. Just a few new pictures of the new sets and demonstrastions of mechanisms. I'm disappointed that they still haven't shown Jet Rocka's wings fully open - I can't truely judge the set till I've seen it. I wonder how they do that self-moving mechanism on Dragon Bolt and Rocka, its pretty cool.
  15. Hehe, ok, I'll calm down now But I must say, I still really like Bruizer even with his arm function, so I guess I'm ok.
  16. Quite a good replica of Evo 5.0 if anyone's interested to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8kO0KPtwzA I'm not sure how accurate this is to the real set, but I hope his weapon will be at least, because I really like that propeller feature This video makes me very tempted to get Evo when he comes out, especially seeing as I didn't get his Breakout form last year.
  17. Thanks for the answer, but NOOOO! I just sold Drilldozer a month or two ago :(
  18. Hey zero1312, may I ask where you got the double ball joint piece on Bruizer's back? Because I must say, your re-design of him is sheer brilliance!
  19. Ah, I didn't realize they had small animations, thats quite a good addition to the website.
  20. Thanks for the news DarkSurgeXL. Hmm, I don't really like how they've changed the website (I mean the format, the wallpaper in the background is quite good) It also doesn't have any new storyline summary, which I was looking forward to (unless it updates soon). Well, guess I'll just wait and see.
  21. Yeah, what zero1312 said. However, the review was really good and it helped me on my decision to whether I should buy Bruzier or not, so thanks!
  22. I'm liking what I see
  23. On a seperate note, does anyone know where I can get Furno XL in the UK for retail price apart from the Lego shop?
  24. Just out of curiosity, have we had any villain in Hero Factory with a axe like Strakk's in terms of size? Because I don't think we have enough of those.
  25. To be honest, thats not what bothers me about Bulk since it is kinda silly (IMO) to have your appearance based off your name. However, what I actually don't like about Bulk is that he is given a drill as his main weapon (the shield is fine as far as I'm concerned), just a small drill. I can appreciate that some people like the drill as a weapon and I can agree with that to some extent. But Bulk's weapon is a stand alone drill, no thought put into it as far as I see it. If he had a drill like Drilldozer's then I wouldn't have a problem with it and of course, thats the second problem, reuse of a weapon with not much attempt to make it different to the last time it was used (a good example of how a piece can be reused IMO is of Black Phantom's use of the mace pieces to Ogrum's use of the mace pieces). Obviously, this is just my opinion, but I imagine this is one of the viewpoints people hold to this wave's Bulk. Oh, and just a further note, apart from his drill, I think Bulk looks fine. Edit: Forgot to say. the way he holds the drill is kinda weird. I mean, you don't really just hold the tip of the drill and use it as a weapon. The drill itself is normally attached to some piece of other machinery. This seems like another lazy move by Lego (though I guess I can't complain since Brain Attack is such a good year for Hero Factory).
