  1. My wife and I just finished watching season 1 on Amazon Prime Instant. We're fans of the show. Only downside is that we have to wait for the next season to come out on Amazon now (we use Amazon and Netflix, don't have TV stations currently). Personally, I like Once Upon a Time a little bit more, but I'm still a fan of Grimm. We are anxious to learn of Juliette's fate after being scratched by the cat at the end of season 1 (please don't tell me!).
  2. I think I was probably pretty typical. I stopped colelcting and playing with Lego some time in my teens, don't remember exactly when. I gave all of them to my cousins' kids as a Christmas gift. Now I kinda wish I hadn't. Oh well, at least I got to help make some kids happy. I'm just barely starting to get into lego again now. I had reminisced about it with my wife a year or two ago, and she got me a couple sets as gifts that I really enjoyed putting together. Bought a couple more sets in the past few weeks. So I'm hooked again. Just wish I had more disposable income. So I guess I'd say my "dark ages" lasted probably 13-15 years.
  3. I just picked this set up yesterday from my local Target store. It was on clearance for only $69.99! Amazing deal for a castle set like this! It really does have a lot of neat features, and some decent parts for furture castle/medieval MOCing (once I actually have enough pieces). Though I think this set will stay complete for a while. I was missing one piece, but fortunately, it was only one of the 1x2 plates that make up one of the "books" on the bookshelf, so nothing to really be upset about. I'm also not a fan of the heros having bionic parts. Seems too steampunkish for me in a theme like this, but I don't have other minifig pieces to replace parts with, so it'll stay as is for now.
  4. Loving this story! And the lego scenes are very well done! I'm surprised Alice isn't a lot bigger. That girl is CONSTANTLY eating! Has anybody else noticed that in nearly every scene she is in, she is holding food? Keep up the good work though!
  5. I am only just now coming out of my "Dark Ages." I had quite a few sets built up over my kid years that I gave away as a Christmas gift to my cousin's kids when I was a teenager. I currently have only 3 sets to my name, but I am slowly trying to build up again. As to what I had when I was a kid (with the help of Brick Link for memory jogging, and I am certain I am still forgetting some sets)- Aquanauts-- 1728 Crystal Crawler 1822 Sea Claw 7 6175 Crystal Explorer Sub Castle/Medieval Themed-- 1877 Crusader's Cart 6054 Forrestman's Hideout 6075 Wolfpack Tower Pirates Themed-- 6245 Harbor Sentry 6257 Castaway's Raft 6267 Lagoon Lockup 1481 Desert Island Space Themed-- Blacktron-- 1462 Galactic Scout 1479 2-Pilot Craft 1887 Scout Patrol Ship 6812 Grid Trekkor 6832 Super Nova II 6851 Tri-Wheeled Tyrax Space Police-- 1969 Mini Robot 6813 Galactic Chief 6852 Sonar Security Ice Planet 2002-- 6814 Ice Tunnelator 6834 Celestial Sled 6879 Blizzard Baron M:Tron-- 6877 Vector Detector I know I also had some city sets, and I believe a few other space and caste themed sets, in addition to some general blocks. I am having difficulty remembering what all of these other sets are though. I do remember that I had approximately 2 large, flat rubbermaid tubs full of pieces. I am hoping I can one day rebuild my old collection in addition to new sets, but that is going to take quite some time.
  6. It would be interesting to know. Lego is definitely a creative toy, one that encourages and stimulates ingenuity. I have an engineering degree myself, and I know that Legos were popular amongst many of my friends at college, who were math, science, and engineering students, as well. On the whole though, it is probably hard to say.
  7. Hey there! I'm an AFOL at 28 years old, just recently found this site and decided to join. I loved playing with Legos as a kid and had a decent sizes collection. Sadly, I no longer have those Legos as I gave them to my cousin's kids as a Christmas present when I was a teenager. At least I was able to give a late gift to kids to have fun with. Anyway, I'm slowly trying to build a collection again. I've got three sets currently. My favorite themes are space and castle. I'm hoping to get enough Legos to do some castle MOCing, but it will be a while before I have enough.
