Is there something particular about these polybags that makes it particularly unlikely? The Lego club magazine in Australia seems to include a keychain minifig every now and then. The last one was a rock monster so it could be they were not selling well, but I can't see Max having much appeal beyond the Lego club either.

I really like this, and would love to have built something like this myself. I'm not sure about the blue roof section though, as this building looks a bit Victorian to me so a flat facade would be more appropriate. That could be because my city is full of Victorian Italianate buildings though :-) The skylight and the air-conditioner clash with the period building, but that reflects reality. Great idea to display the figs.

I voted Lego Trunk, even though I haven't yet seen it in a shop yet. I considered voting for the Cargo Train and the Limo and Helicopter too. There are a number of great sets this year.

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
peterab replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I really like this series but it doesn't have any obvious town army builders for me. From the first series I collected cheerleaders, nurses, ninja and forestmen, and a couple of each of the others. This series I can see just wanting one or two of each. The lion tamer and the vampire have nice torso's, as do the singer and DJ but there are none that scream to me I need six of these. The cop is close but what town builder needs more police? I'm not sure what the problem is, the current price on bricklink is only just higher than the RRP in most of the world for the popular ones. I can get the less popular ones cheeper than I could at retail. The US has it way better than most of the world most of the time. That price difference creates the incentive to sell on ebay, but I'm sure you don't want your Lego prices to rise to the same level as the rest of the world because you would end up paying close to double a lot of the time. -
That quite a nice basic Moc, and while it does remind me of the new cargo train, it also reminds me of German deisels. I'd like to build something similar with the red cab ends, and I'd probaby try to incorporate some doors, perhaps by micro spacing them a little. I build in seven wide so I'd need to get some of the new red corner bricks to get the height proportional. Will be some time before I get around to it I suspect. Edited to add: I didn't realise I was responding to such an old post till LT pointed it out, otherwise I wouldn't have. It's pretty borderline reviving such an old post, but this one seems to have predicted the future.

These are really nice, and I'm sure it will be worth the wait to see a full train by you in the brick.

I still really like the contrast between the older and newer styles of the various parts. It adds a great feeling of reality, mirroring the additions that happen as hospitals expand over time. Your MOC has also gotten bigger and better over time. Hi Pasu, Welcome to Eurobricks, Many people don't create plans or part lists for their Mocs as it can be very time consuming, so most of us use the photos to re-create them if we wish. If you get stuck on particular details some builders will take a few broken down images or close ups on request.

That is a nice little stake wagon, I built a similar one for last years train tech competition. I'm tempted to revise mine since its in bright red, so I'd like to make it a longer more modern bogie stake wagon since bright red is the newer clour scheme of DB which I model. I like the under carriage detail on yours a lot.

I quite like this set, but I think the Winter Toy Shop had a few advantages, better figs, and the light posts were very cool, and it was slightly larger. I hope to buy both this year. They'll go well with My MMV.

My girlfriend who grew up in Sydney says you've done a good job, as she could tell it was a metro rather than the similar inter urbans which run on different lines. BTW now you've experienced all the downsides to eight wide I eagerly await your future 7-wide builds :-)

Nice Chemist LT. They're called chemists for historical reasons. Before pharmacists existed as a speciality, the people who mixed up the drugs etc were chemists. The name has stuck in Australia.

No, in general PAB is cheaper than DBM, though is some cases the reverse is true.

I rarely apply stickers to my train sets, mostly because I view them as parts for Mocs. On the other hand I think good stickers can enhance a Moc greatly, because the resolution of stickers is finer than bricks.

There's a bunch of different techniques on Moc Pages and Brickshelf which illustrate various techniques.

I'm a train and town fan so I rarely buy action themes, but certain parts do have a great appeal to me. As examples are the lime green motorbike that appeared in power miners, and the civilian figs that turned up in the robot set from agents. On the whole it's generally not enough to buy the sets rather than use bricklink though. The adventurers theme was a bit more useful to me though with its cool vehicles and buildings.

Well, everybody else who discussed barcode reading methods did it in the minifig disscussion thread, where it has already been mentioned that barcode reader apps exist. You come along post a new thread seemingly oblivious that a) it has already been disscussed and b) posting a new thread which has info for such a small small subset of the Eurobricks readers may be annoying to others and then get bent out of shape when your 'helpfulness is not appreciated. Perhaps you should consider why you got hostile responses.

A little more detail; 1. No the remotes/recievers for the RC and PF trains are incompatable. PF uses IR while 7898 is RC. 2. Since the train base, battery box, and receiver are all one piece, if you replace all three you can use the PF battery box. You could use this with a RC motor, unfortunately it is the least powerful train motor (it has higer speed, lower torque), and the plug sits a bit high and will probably interfere with turning on a normal train base, so you probably also want to use a PF motor anyway. It's probably not worth it.

That's a very nice build and I too like the colour scheme.

I'm pretty keen on this set, and though the design is simple that's appropriate for a City set. I quite like the funiture and other details and all the minifigs will be useful to me. Parts wise it's not outstanding but given the size of the set I think there are enough interesting bits to make it worthwhile.

I've been looking forward to this set since I saw the first leaked images. I hope the Australian price is affordable for me. Interestingly enough I'm not particularly keen on the TRU truck, I guess because I have a lot of affection for Lego, but TRU are just another multi-national.
-
I carefully considered getting this set, but in the end I got hold of the few pieces I wanted such as the white baseplate and orange motorbike instead. I just didnt need another truck, even if the orange bricks are a novelty for me given that my collection started in the 70's. Thanks for the detailed review, it a nice set but I had other priorities.

This is a great Moc, I recognised the metro entrances immediately. I particularly like your choices of minifig torsos. I don't recognise a few of them, which sets do the crying boy and his mothers torsos come from, also the person sleeping on the seats?
-
I'd never seen them before, they're a great part from otherwise very poor sets. I dont mind the windscreen in 4652, but other than that all the other parts in both sets are either pretty useless of very common (the wheels).

I really like the truck Moc. Are the chrome fuel tanks Lego parts or chromebricks or third party? What part are they I don't recognise them but they look very usefull.
