Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
phoinix replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
so i went to a toy store near my house today and asked to see the retail catalog for 2009 power miners were in the catalog along with pirates and the rest of the new sets. they wouldnt let me take any pictures.. but i can tell you that they look a lot better than we thought. i personaly still dont like them.. but there are a lot of cool features. the colors are lime and light green with touches of orange and some silver parts. the monsters open their mouths to eat the valuable gems and are grey or green. i dont think they have legs but im pretty sure their arms are moving.. and get this.. the sets combine to built different vehicles. like the first exo force sets did.. thats all i can remember but im sure some of you will really like them (still its not my taste) -
man fighting man with machine-guns isnt very violent for you? this is the first time lego made modern weapons outside a license theme. ofcourse i havent bought any of those sets. its just my opinion cant you just accept it? everyone has an opinion and a point of view. im more of a creator and city guy. the most violent i like from lego is classic castle and pirates.

it reminds me of the first mars mission sets. everyone was expecting them to be great...but they were terrible... the second wave was a lot better of course... anyhow.. im not liking them at all.. but then i never liked this kind of things...
-
you are quoting me from 2007? i hate both themes! agents is terrible! very violent and not great design. and the power miners are just for the lovers of big vehicles that dig and do "cool" stuff. i have a right to my own opinion my friend either you like it or not. if it means little to your taste then dont take it under consideration

they look even more terrible that i expected. but after exo force has ended they had to fill the gap.. not my cup of tea thats for sure the city impulse looks great

Review: 7092 Skeletons' Prison Carriage
phoinix replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
one of the best sets from the new castle theme. we havent seen a carriage in a long long time. and it looks so spooky and sceary! lots of minifigs new skeleton horses (3!) this was the first set i got from the new castle theme!! outstanding! -
i guess that if there is a chicken think they would be brick built as the penguins..
-
i think pirates would sell better in the summer... the ships, the sea, the beach. and i think this is a theme that would sell very well in the USA as pirates and sea travel are in the american history and culture
-
oh god why do those figures look that way? if you cant give something good then give nothing at all!!
-
well the rest of the article seems to be true. the only problem is that pirates is not on the list!... i have always hated rock riders SO MUCH it was during my dark ages and i was happy i wasnt buying lego at the time! so <insert that tiresome argument> so dark and brown and no real design maby the new ones are better

you can compare the lego sets with the playmobil farm sets their farm is far more detailed...
-
where are you guys seeing all these? can you give liks?

i found them all today in a store in Greece (along with all batman sets)

well it sure does look big and impressive! i really like the small craft on its own. but the huge drilling thing is not all that cute. and what are the city and indy containers doing in space? wouldnt they be outdated by then? it looks like a fantastic toy. just not lego-ish enough the mars mission has come a long way this year and the sets are so much better i was really hoping for a new base or even an alien base! well we will have to wait until next year. im sure the line will continue.

this is a great moc! i really like the "pets" design and the entrance im not sure if green goes with sand color. dark green might be better. and i dont like the aircondition things on the right. looking forward to see how the roof comes out.

this looks so fresh and so fantastic! i love it! well done! i wish i could build like that..

not bad not bad at all. lego is taking city to another level and i like it. although it seems very nice and all im trying to focus on creator and modular buildings. (with an occasional castle set) so im probably not getting any of the CG sets and try to get the Green Grocer!
