  1. Hey TOS is still the best! sorry it's funny though because I grew up ont it through repeats rather then when it first aired and even though the special effects are'nt the best it still has place in my heart. Oh BTW they recently just did a remastered version of it with improved special effects (CGI enterprise, colonies are bigger, planets different, more federation ships are shown).
  2. I just saw the movie and I came out of it pretty happy. It had a lot of great action especially the fight with the scorpians, which made me sort've nostalgic for the older Ray Harryhousen animated films (Jason & the argonauts, Sinbad, Original Clash of the Titans, Etc....). I loved the overall feel the film had and love all the little things they had in it that were different from the original like the desert people and the scorpian riding . I deffinantly know what that atlantis scorpian and those POP hassasins are going to be used for. I also like how theyhad the mechanical owl from the first movie and the one guy say "Leave it" . I wonder though who in the end is the real victem, the kraken or the city of Argos? I mean the kraken must have been asleep for how long? A million years, a billion years? When he lashed out his tentacles hitting the city, all it really was doing was stretching. I mean come on would'nt you be stretching after sleeping in a small crevice for a billion years? Also does'nt he have the right to eat a couple humans, it's not like he gets to eat the muchthat often. Actually that's only the western conception of it (still personally my favorite however ). I think that the greeks idea of it was more like the one in this movie and I know that another belief on what it looks like is a giant snake like creature.
  3. I think we just need to set a date (not that long from now like a week from now) and get matches going.
  4. Another one.....? Well hopefully this one will be like the Dark Knight and surpass the previous film in quality. I'm sorry but transformers 2 was terrible, brilliant action but the storyline and everything else was just awful. Don't even get me started on those jive talking autobots which are very racist, even though almost all my black friends don't think so. The first one was really good but the second one was just a cheese fest to me.
  5. I have never seen the original Get Smart but I did really enjoy the 2008 movie. It was pretty hillarious and I enjoyed it the whole way through.
  6. I've never liked FBTB, a bit to inclusive and arrogant for me (Just saying no offense intended). However I really doubt that this is true because first off, why not wit untill tommorow to give out the news? He does know it's april 1st right? I really can't believe it. However if he is leaving and the site's future is uncertain, then all I can say is "I'm very sorry for my FBTB slamming ways and furthermore I am very sorry for the site closing"
  7. Oh that is too funny! I thought that the MP3 was pretty crazy but these- I so want these! Edit: Wait is this an april's folls joke? that is too good!
  8. Thes are great! very well painted and textured. BTW did you sculpt these on top off an official Lego lightsaber or are these completely done by scratch?
  9. Thee are all very good! I especially like your Shaak Ti and that you cleverly made it using Ashoka's headress. I am very jealous of you minifigure custimization abilities. I have a challenge for you, if you don't mind (You don't have to accept if you don't want to ). Recently on the Clone Wars was a character called Admiral Trench, who was a spider like character. He was sepretist admiral who has multiple eyes, arms and a some what more elaborate uniform. If anyone was to do it I think you could do it brilliantly. Here is a site with a bunch of very good pictures of him. Wookiepedia's article BTW my avatar is Trench
  10. Anyways to get back to tonight's episode (for the US anyways ) "Cat and Mouse" here's what I thought. **SPOILERS PRESENT** First the pros. Admiral Trench was a brilliant character for what he was. He is the first really competant sepretist commander that we have seen for a long time now, and he was pretty interesting as a character. Besides all that he just looks cool (hey I just like spiders a lot ). I think it was also great that he was so well developed as an admiral in such a short time. To be totally honest, i'm more afraid of him from one episode then I am of Grievous the entire series so far. I also like that unlike other sepretists we know, Trench knew he was dead and just accepted it peacefully. Next The cloaking ship and the Providence class were both pretty cool, espsecially the latter. The providence was cool because it looked like it was more of an early model of that class since it's weapons and shields limitations. I also liked how it had those painted "eyes" on it's sides which made it look like a bird. The whole plot with the cloaking ship was pretty cool and I think they did a great job with it. Hopefully they do more with it later on. Now the cons. Anakain, Anakain, Anakain. He must be the most obnoxious character on the show. Not only does he show a complete lack of respect for Obi-Wan's orders but is at leat three times as reckless as he should be. I like Anakain's recklessness but but it can only go to such an extent. In the real navy and army he would've been either court marshalled or demoted. I also just wish they would have other jedi besides Anakain be the main focus of an episode. For example, they had this whole plotline going on with Admiral Yularen and Admiral Trench, that I would've been more interested seeing Yularen actually do something. Finally The death of Admiral Trench really Megblocked me off. They introduce and build up this really awesome new enemy commander, and you know what they do? They kill him. The sepretists don't look good right now especially when "Bounty Hunters can do a better job then their own commanders (except Trench for some extent.) Pros: -Admiral Trench -good character development -New Providence class ship -cloaking ship -early tie-figther style pilot -Exciting plotline Cons: -Another Anakain story -Anakain's extreme recklesness -Trench's death -the ending (what happened to the other twnety sepretist ships in the blockade?) -Another Republic victory again Anyways besides it's flaws, this episode was exciting and a fresh change of step from last weeks episode. This is probably one of my favs from this season. Anyways thank you for listening to my ranting and goodnight or day.
  11. This is really cool, especially since it's one of the scenes from the force unleashed I least expected to see made in lego. This brings up good memories of stormtrooper chukking BTW if the black part under the laser is upsetting you then maybe you should raise up the rest of the vignette and make the actual platform mostly dark grey. This way the black floor under the laser looks more like an abyss.
  12. First off these are pretty brilliantly done. I did not know though thatyou could buy them printed . How do you? I've meant to buy one of the female torsos and twi'lek heads for a while and if they come printed I might. I wonder how these will compare to lego's new twi'lek head.
  13. This is really cool! I was just on youtube before coming to EB watching that song too I really knew that somebody was going to do her with those atlantis tentacle legs some day. I like the way you incorporate everything and how you made a minifig's arms a little chubby, It makes sense. I have a question though. How many minifigs do you own?! It seems like you must have at least four everyone made Yet again really nice job!
  14. I agree with that mostly. The box should probably be mainly for showing off the set, although if possible they could squeeze in one "small" pic of an alternate build.
  15. That one clone on the tank is not wearing a helmet! Maybe a new helmet, mold in the mix?
  16. STO has been released today Today is 2/2/10 just so you know.
  17. After reading def's review on the sith infiltrator set, I bacame nostalgic for many of the instruction booklet's other features. The comics, but mainly the alternate builds. We used to see these a lot in the past on all the different liscened themes, but sadly we don't anymore. Now there could be economical reasons or just the lack of time in the set's production, I don't know. It is however one of the representations of Lego's motto "Just Imagine", that we have lost. Lego is all for imagination so where is that slogan? Lego Star Wars was the forerunner for all these cool features but with the newer sets we never get these anymore. I created this topic to see what you guys think Lego should do about this.
  18. Even though this may not be "sleek" or "fandangled" as the newer sets, it still carries a nostalgic value to all of us who bought legos back then. It's scary to think that this set is more then a decade old now. I love all these older sets because they just had something about them that's a little more fun then the lego sets today. Maybe the fact that the older sets are more basic, you feel that your imagination can go all over the place with them. I shocked myself when I came to the conclusion that overall I really liked this version better then it's 2007 counterpart. Lego bring back the alternitive builds! Good review as always def!
  19. This is really nice photography, wish I could do that BTW have you tried taking a photo where the focus is on a character in the foreground while the background is blurry? 600th post
  20. Impressive, most impressive! Wow this look really great ADHO! The maps and updated vehicles, and did I mention the increase in maps I can't wait to star playing, although i'll wait.
  21. Just one word, Brilliance! First off I have to say I'm rather happy I gave you a challenge, especially with the outcome being a great addition to your minis. This is rather incredible being to scale and having the right amount of details. I never thought it could be done so well but if anyone could do it, it's you. Great job man and keep it up!
  22. ADHO you should probably PM them to really get them to post in the other thread. It's not that hard to repost the photos so I don't know what they're wating for.
  23. I'm sorry for getting my inner nerd but here I go. The one in the link IS a completely new figure. He has printing sure but his arms are connected with ball joints.
  24. It's simple as this. The prime minister did not confirm that Jango Fett was or was not a mandolorian. He simply denied that he was mandolorian. It seems to me that after Mandalore's big war with the Republic that they tried becoming a peacful people. The warriors were still there they just moved to the moon and went on with there seperate lives. How does this destroy what we know of the mandalorians, in fact it does'nt mess up their culture at all. In the republic commando series all the clones know of mandalore is when they were still a warrior people. All we really know of the planet is during the times of the old republic and what the clones learned from their mandlorian trainers. In any society that was at one point extremely violent and nearly got wiped out in some war really has only two options. Either become peaceful as shown here, or become or practically extinct. I respect Karen Traviss and I think she has a made a brilliant history for the good 'ole Mandos. I think the history should be respected by Filoni and the others and depending on the next two episodes I think it has.
  25. Accordining to this guy who was at the toyfair said the next wave of minifigures included a baywatch like minifigure and a vampire. Link
