[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
sok117 replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Pretty good work so far on all of them! Though I can't say I really like the slave 1 to be honest, the red base looks mis-shapen to me, especially the abruptness at the top, I think a revisit would yield better results. My favourite is still day 1 -
The face used for deadshot is from the desert ambush prince of persia set. Thanks for your comment though! Yeah, I'm glad players of the game can see all the things i've added in, to them it's a great representation of the game in lego form, and to others it's just a cool batman moc, so it works on both levels. Thanks for commenting on the border, I was nearly out of tiles so I just managed what you see there. The Batmobile is something that I've always wanted to make, I've made over 15 since 2008, each one improving slightly over the last, but I think I've found a model that I'm content with for the time being. The play features are something I knew that the moc wouldn't be complete without, after all, it's based off a videogame meant to be "played", so it just goes hand in hand! Thanks for your in-depth comment! Lots of love for the batmobilee I think I can get a 360 set put together, insturctions might cost you a few votes though Thanks for your comment! And again a big thanks to everyone for commenting!

Oh, my mistake. I thought this was the same topic as the WIP that I saw a while ago. But it's a new topic entirely that wasn't up for long which explains lack of comments.

It's kinda sad how little feedback you've got on this amazing creation. Probably not star Wars-y enough for them Awesome job, I like the smooth overall aperance, and the treads look fantastic! The missiles on top are especially cool. This is a great juggernaut variant! Brick ON!

Looks Great! Your watchtower gives us a chance to fully assemble our troops should we need to fend off an attack! Love the wooden beams, and the smooth look to the whole thing, nice job!

Yeah.... To those who are lucky enough to not know what were talking about, for the love of God don't google it and find out.

good one!

A good book, but if you ever come across the "sequel", A Scientific Romance, by Ronald Wright, in which HG wells's time machine returns to the future. Please put the book down and walk away. I have to read it for English and it is the most god-awful piece of rubish I've ever had the misfortune to read. It insists upon itself and it wants to be so witty and smart. But it just makes for a rubbish piece of sattire that is so boring. Honestly, theres 200 pages of the book where this man finds a cat in Dystopia and its a very big deal. Oh, and on that note, it loves to tag on to the same dystopian concept that is really over-used by now.

good one! Nice job town! Way to get stuff done!

Awesome Job on these Pokemon! Very good attention to detail while working on such a small scale. My favourite is probably th big blue guy. I'm not familiar with most of them, I'm more gen 1 and 2. But they look fantastic!

Yeah, it's my first time building buildings like this, before this I just built star wars. But I'm really pumped to try my hand at other Gotham scenes. I agree with the standards, A lot of these scenes are really impressive. Thanks! Don't wait to pick it up, it's excellent! You'll love it if you liked the first game. I really wanted to add in as many game related things as I could possibly do. Just send some credit my way if you do. It's not 100% accurate to the game, but so long as you use that face it works. Well I sure as heck wouldn't make it mini, or UCS, or even moodland-scale! Thanks for the comment though! Thanks, I think I'll put up another shot of the batmobile to show off more of it's sexy curves. Wow, thanks for that comment! That means a lot to me! one of the best? Thank you ver very much! Thanks, I'm sure you'll like the game, it's awesome! Batman Kick Pose FTW! Yeah, I really wanted to transfer the action of the game into the moc, and I knew I could only accomplish this with loots of goons doing goon-type things. Thanks for you comment! I hope this contest inspires people to build more Batman mocs! What comment ? Thanks for the luck, I'm gonna need it against you! HAHAHA, Thanks Lego:Batman Arkham City would be awesome! I'm really glad that as a player of the game you can see all the things that went from the screen into the Moc! Thanks for your comment! Thanks, although is that really saying much? The TLG batmobile is pretty darn bad in my opinion, but I knew I wanted to kind of highlioght it in my entry, It looks pretty darn good . Nevertheless Thanks for your comments! Gotta love minifig positioning! Once again thanks for all the Replies everyone!

Awesome Entry! I like all the snot work, however, although the smooth finish is nice, I can't help feeling as though it's too smooth. It works in the bathroom, but not so much in the sewer. Oh well, still an A+ entry! Awesome Job.

Well, the Mafia Index just says a game summary, that made me think of just a summary of what kind of game you would like to host. I simply said a Star Wars mafia, and gave a paragraph or so about the premise of the game. Perhaps the "Hosting a Mafia" part of the index could be changed to better highlight what is to be expected in a "Game Summary" as Def listed above. It may help to change up the hosts, and weed out the committed from the pool of requests you (Draggy) get every month or so. Just a suggestion. (And I apologize for snippyness (), just a bit frustrated thats all ) -
It's a joke, don't worry Penguin, you know I'm just kidding right?...Right??

Hello everyone! It is with great pride that I present to you my entry into category 1 of the Batman Contest! After recently playing Batman Arkham City, I've been fixated on recreating a slice of the city for the contest. So here is an overall view Arkham City by sok117, on Flickr As you can see, I focused a lot on creating a living hell in Gotham city, the boarded up windows and doors, the spilled garbage, the assault in the alley way. There are two buildings, a deserted bank, and a small storage building, I used mini T-rex's as gargoyles, and lots of pillar-like architecture for the building. There are also a lot of details in and around the street, Street Lamp, fire hydrant, payphone, boxes, Joker Bombs (Purple Cones). I decided to make a nice snot road to display my batmobile, I built it and ripped it apart close to 14 times, I always wanted to make it smaller, but to get in all the details, it had to be 8-wide. It still looks very good in my opinion. Inside by sok117, on Flickr The back offers a lot of hidden surprises that give a nod to the game. There are holes in the top and bottom floor of the building to allow access from the outside. The top floor has lent it's roof to a number of bats, and whats that on the barrel? A riddler trophy! Riddler trophies are hidden all throughout the game, they unlock concept art, challenges, and character trophies. The second floor of the bank has been used as a base of operations for the worlds greatest assassin; Deadshot. It's a little dark, but his sniper rifles are on display on the desk along with a brief case. The first floor is a resting place for the thugs of Arkham City, if you've played the game, they always complain about how cold it is, so I built them a nice log fire. The game also hints at Scarecrow planning to unleash fear on Gotham, the second building is devoted to Scarecrow, the top floor is housing viles of his concentrated fear gas, and on the lower floor Scarecrow works to develop a new more harmful strain of fear gas. Batmobile by sok117, on Flickr A better view of my slick Batmobile, Batman decided to use the car as a distraction so he can isolate and knock out armed thugs one by one. The henchmen however have no idea that there is no chance of getting through the security of the Batmobile. Batman!! by sok117, on Flickr Batman has grappled up to the roof of the bank to take out the armed henchmen, Now he can take out the rest. Scarecrow by sok117, on Flickr I liked the idea of incorporating elements of the game into the moc, here you can see Scarecrow perfecting his fear toxins on his victims. But players of the game will no a structural weakness when they see one. A dab of explosive gel and an instant KO to the unsuspecting villain. Cryptographic Sequencer by sok117, on Flickr Another gadget is the cryptographic sequencer, Batman can use these to hack doors and gates, perfect for collecting riddler trophies! Grate Moves! by sok117, on Flickr Grate Moves Batman! Riddler Trophies like to hide behind these pesky grate covers, but they fold to the strength of Batman! Batmobile by sok117, on Flickr by popular demand, I've added a better and cleaner view of the Batmobile for your viewing pleasure. If you wish to build this badboy, I should be able to post instructions on the weekend. Thanks for looking at my entry, more photos are at Arkham City on Flickr I'm really pleased with my work, and I'm impressed with all the details I managed to cram into the moc. Thanks again for looking, comments are appreciated! `Sok117

Yeah, I'm surprised at how low the criticism is, I would've liked to generate a bit more of a discussion Nevertheless, thanks for the replies everyone! @Tiger Yeah, I agree, I'm tired of people thinking that Robin is just a campy weak side-kick, he's a really cool character who is much more light-hearted then batman but still a damn cool bad-@$$ @Penguin Sorry to disappoint about this not being a penguin moc, but I would pick Robin over penguin any day, you can't even fly

Well, I agree that you present fair points, but when you originally replied to my request, you said you would put me on a pending list and when asked recently about it, you haven't replied to me. I guess the only way to be able to host a mafia game is to present a half-decent photoshopped teaser image. Well, thats been duly noted. Off to Photoshop! -

Well I contacted Draggy wanting to host a mafia game like a year ago, and I asked him again about it maybe 4 weeks ago and hes hasn't said anything to me. I'm not saying I can make a better game and that I should get to go first or whatever, I'm just thinking it's a bit unfair that you just get bumped like that. -

Alfred is not a dual pistol wielding vigilante, Katana is okay in small doses, but I really don't want her to be reoccurring, just think about how stupid it will be if every episode she has a sword, but doesn't kill anyone. It's like TMNT all over again. The shape of Batman's head bothers me a little, but not that much to be honest. The idea behind Brave and the Bold was good in the fact that they were always brining in new villains and heroes which kept it fun, but for BTB, Doctor Pyg is suppose to replace The Joker in the amount of airtime he gets, and can anyone really take that much Dr. Pyg? -
Damn Damn Damn, I suppose I always sorta new my days were numbered, but it's very upsetting to see me go at the time I think I'm the most safe , good luck my fellow Criminals? I'll be besting the Devil in a game of chess.

Really, I'm dreading it like the plague! Katana as the sidekick? A gun-toting alfred? Doctor Pyg? And worst of all Batmans face is a triangle! -
Is it just me, or is that Batmobile really bad, all and all, the two face set is really lacking. The other sets are on average pretty good in my opinion. I'll still get them all, and I may get two-faces set. Thanks for the pictures though!
