  1. Sadly, it isn't. The battery needs its own type of charger, that isn't compatible with the old ones used by the Command Centers, Minstorms and 9V speed regulator.
  2. Those aren't kjøttkaker, but meatballs. Or kjöttbullar, if you will. Most likely the norwegian IKEA variant. Not as good as proper swedish meatballs, but hey, Norwegian import makes the swedish variant prohibitively expensive. I'm leaning towards italian food, especially pasta. But I also like a good curry now and then, and chilli con carne is also right up there with the pasta.
  3. I'm a 50/50 split between irish and danish, and am a danish citizen. Came to Norway when I was 2, though.
  4. It's a Lithium-Ion Pollymer battery. For now this is about the most advanced type of consumer-market battery there is, before you jump outside any sensible price-ranges. Now take into account that you'll never have to buy batteries again to power your MOCs, it's got a speed dial and not just a simple on/off switch and that it's way smaller than the old battery box. Hmm, I'd still like to see it cheaper though. I'm crossing my fingers that it can be used while charging, so animatronic displays can be constantly run.

    Car Talk

There are plenty of cars that I'd like to own, and it seems that my dreamride keeps changing depending on my mood. Might change, though. I really like this: the Tesla Model S Best part for me about it is that I have a genuine chance of actually getting one. Electric cars are tax-free in Norway, which means it'll be dirt cheap (even after import) compared to its competition. Range is good, too.
  6. May I suggest that you also get BrickStore at the same time? It is useful for grasping the costs of projects, since it can import models from MLCad, run through all the pieces the imported model needs, and creates a list that details the cost of each piece individually - if they are available. It does so by downloading data from Bricklink, and you can yourself decide what prices it should use (current averages, six-month averages, lowest, highest etc.) depending on what accuracy you want. Obviously, it isn't smart, and you shouldn't thrust the prices the coughs up blindly, but it is an useful tool to see if the pieces are available, and if they are, how much they cost.
  7. I was wondering why the theme month archive hadn't been updated in a while... Still, the hilarious banners is what sets Eurobricks apart from many other sites, and on that note I'll also congratulate with another good one! Just gotta love how well integrated all the figures are in the banner, but I think the best part of the current banner is the troll on waterskis. Yeah, that one just cracks me up.
  8. I'm guessing Maikiri is member #5000?
  9. Please, do resize your pictures. I honestly couldn't be bothered waiting for them to load, and I sit on a decently fast line. Resize your pictures (25% of original size should do nicely), re-upload them, then edit your post with the smaller pictures instead. Said edit would be much appreciated.
  10. I have no problem with a permanent display model being glued, since it'll reduce the risk of the expense that's gone into it to vapour into the thin air in case somebody breaks it - I'm thinking of employee's here, but visiting kids would also qualify. They simply won't have the time or the mindset to put it back together in case something happens, since it's easily the most eloberate decoration in the room. Glue aside, it's an impressive piece of architecture. Very nice indeed.
  11. Close. They produce them in advance, stockpile them in their own distribution centres, and approx. a week or two in advance of the launch date, they start distributing the new sets to the retailers, who will immediatelly start selling them. [/off-topic] Uhm, I am yet to buy any LEGO today. But then again it's just noon.
  12. At first I wondered why you re-posted one of your locomotives, until I noticed that you've given it cars! This is very nice, and a nice attention to detail. I'll echo what TheBrickster said, since most of us (I guess) are unfamiliar with japanese trains and asian trains in general. It's very refreshing to see MOCs of these.
  13. I think these are great. I would consider the old Ford Mustang and the DeLorean DMC-12 as my favs of these, since these really capture the look of the original cars.
  14. It's a very, very cool building. Fits right in, too! Gotta love the flower-pot on the pavement. The interior has just left me speechless. It looks authentic and like somebody lives there, which is a big plus for all those who get to see it. Edit: Just saw you drum set, and I was wondering why you just didn't use the attic as a studio? Judging by the height of the roof, there's definetly room for a amateur band.
  15. They are very real. As an instrument they are known as Zeusaphones, and smaller versions of these are commercially available. has an interview with one of the designers that built and operates the coil shown in the first video, and its explained that the music we hear is basically modulated thunder. There's also lots and lots of other videos of other people building and playing music through their own tesla coils/zeusaphones.
  16. Found this on Klocki today. It's built by Ingmar Spijkhoven, and, well, it's just staggeringly, mind-bogglingly, awesomely awesome. Rubber-axle-joiner suspension, ackerman-steering, motorised with remote control, etc. Just take a look for yourselves: And it's got a trailer of equal quality to go with it: (Pictures are way to big to be posted in here, but the pics are linked to the galleries, big pics can be found there)
  17. Now here's a money saver! We can run two trains simultaneously and independently on a single controller, if one train uses the red sub-channel and the other the blue sub-channel. Excellent move on LEGO's part.
  18. I fully agree with what Eilif said - except perhaps about the bit that kids should be playing with LEGO instead of watching TV, since it focuses on the negatives on the alternative to LEGO and not on the positives about LEGO. For us, the message gets through, but perhaps not for (absent-minded) parents. I think these are part of a exam-project for a student taking a degree in marketing, and not a stunt initiated by a studio to market themselves.
  19. Sorry mate, but the old train remote isn't compatible with the receiver used for power functions (tested). You'll have to get a new remote as well.
  20. The blue axle-pins have friction spots that grip the holes that are used to keep the pins in place, which the tan axle-pins don't have. Same with the black pins vs. the grey pins, where the black ones have friction spots. See those lines on the pin-end of the axle-pin you posted? Those are the friction spots.
  21. CP5670: I think it's the track splitting segment he's referring to as "switches". BTW; I bought some used monorail track in Skærbæk last year, and have myself discovered the same problem with both of the switches that I bought, so I too would be interested in hearing what solutions people have come up with.
  22. Yes, if probably not chronologically - I'm kinda limited to the internet and what I might find, when it comes to TV-series.
  23. Very nice, indeed. Has some very nice architectural touches, and I really like the lights on the street-side of the station. The interior could have needed an office-balcony or two, just to fill it up a little, but the way you've used the floor is exemplary. May I suggest that you off-set the teeth-plates seen in fifth and sixth pictures with a half-a-stud to either side. That way you'll avoid the thick centrepiece you have now, which IMHO ruins the looks a little. But very, very nice work you've done there.
  24. A firestation, eh? Hmm, I'm kinda dissapointed. I was hoping for another civilian building, but, oh well. Time will tell if I find it worth my money.
  25. Thanks to this thread, it made me curious about this new Batman series of which I've never previously heard of. ...and it's awesome! When I was a little kid I used to watch the classic Adam West series that would be broadcast here in the early 90's, and this reminds me of it to some degree. But what I like the most is the slightly cheesy humour the series has, paying homage to what Batman originally was.* Love that. * - I'm not that much of a fan, to know the in-depth of the original Batman. But I still recognise some of it.
