  1. "Excellent!" said Enson, "As it happens we have business in there, some sort of blockage in the chute. Would you mind accompanying us down there?"
  2. "Quite admirable. But what you say concerns me, especially as it seems to confirm Rachel's surmise of something more than ordinary rodents being behind this. But... several days you say? You must be starving! I have some walnuts on me if you want some, and I could probably find something for you to drink on my person, but I'm afraid I can't offer you more than that."
  3. "Well sir," said Enson with a slight bow, "we would be obliged if you'd tell us how you came to be here. I noticed a plank propped against the cabinet in such a way that it would prevent you from freeing yourself, which would seem to indicate someone deliberately trapped you here. Would I be correct in that surmise?"
  4. "Now now, there's no need to be rude." "I believe the man is being sarcastic madam. And yes, that is a good idea, but we should remove the books first to make the cabinet lighter. Would you mind assisting me?" Enson will remove the books from the cabinet and use his Void Star Hammer to lever the object off the man.
  5. Places sign: I'd already decided to vote for whoever voted first, seemed safe Also, no-one told me how text-chat works
  6. "Excuse me," said Enson, addressing the cabinet while bowing slightly, "is there something we can help you with?" As he spoke he leaned slightly to peer around the pice of furniture just to make sure that it wasn't something behind it talking.
  7. Places sign: Vote: Hal (KotZ) For being fast off the mark.
  8. Has no idea what to do, eats bread.
  9. "Same here." said Enson stretching all of his arms. "I'm afraid I don't get enough exercise for someone my age." Enson was a bit disappointed by the rat running away, he'd wanted to ask it what it was doing there. "Well, whatever it is, it's probably related to the issue we're here to deal with. Shall we see?" Enson will pick up the broom and, party willing, head towards the strange noise.
  10. @Peppermint_M "Oh, I... see." Enson briefly glanced at Valesia in the hope (though not much) they would demonstrate some hidden technological expertise. "Well," he said after a moment, "just come over here and help me force this door open."
  11. @Kintobor I see our earlier conversation has borne fruit.
  12. Enson, having had the importance of keeping calm in a crisis drilled in from an early age, quietly returned his bag to his pocket. "Well," he said, "I presume one of you has some mechanical expertise?" Not wanting to seem unhelpful, Enson examined the door to see if it could be levered open.
  13. "Yes, it certainly is... memorable." said Enson, secretly wishing he knew enough about technology to replace the elevator music with something that wouldn't drive him mad. Wishing to distract himself from the abominable sound, he took a small bag and a whole walnut from his pockets, placed the nut in his mouth, cracked it open between his teeth, spat the shell fragments into the bag, and chewed contentedly. After a moment he swallowed and said "Sorry, I should've asked, does anyone want any?"
  14. @Waterbrick Down "Of course," Enson said in answer to the question, "You wouldn't build something in a big city without hooking it in to the sanitation systems. And dumping trash directly into space is illegal anyways, it creates navigation hazards for incoming ships." Enson gave Rachel a quick nod. "If you don't mind miss, I have no further questions. I am ready to move on when my companions are."
  15. Enson looked sadly at the broken object in his hands. After the hours he had spent wandering this seemed an anticlimactic end to his magical stool adventures. Still, there was work to be done. With a quick heave he tossed the furniture fragments onto the pile and followed the others inside. Having followed the others and listened to Rachel's account, Enson's brow furrowed in concentration. "I'm sorry, but from the sounds of it you're expecting these rats to be aggressive, is that right?" He spread his hands. "As far as I understand that's very unusual behavior. Most rats run away when confronted by people."
  16. "Oh, ah, Rachel." Enson coughed into his fist. "Sorry, hello. I came to ask you about this stool here, someone sat on it too hard and it snapped. I didn't want to just throw it in a closet and I couldn't put it down the chute while it was stopped up." There was a momentary silence. "And of course I'd be happy to help you with that while I'm here." he finished, a little self-consciously.
  17. "Assigned? I don't remember... Wait a moment, are you members of Heroica? Did you just join?" He paused for a moment, muttering to himself. "You two, the Elf, the trenchcoat man, and the fellow who broke the stool, that's five in one day! That's a record!" He bowed again to his compatriots. "Well I'm sorry if I've offended you." he said, "Welcome to Heroica."
  18. @Waterbrick Down @Peppermint_M "Ah," said Enson, bowing to the two newcomers, "good to meet you. My name is Ensonvilterayquis - or Enson, if that's more convenient - Qoun'ahn, assistant janitor, and agent of Heroica." He straightened up and gave them a quizzical look. "Erm, what are you doing here? You don't look like station maintenance, and the Scrapper's guild doesn't go around carrying weapons in the upper levels."
  19. @KotZ I'd recommend Long Range or Artillery on the grounds that the other two ranges are covered by your allies. It's metagame stuff, but frankly metagaming is impossible to avoid anyway.
  20. Having escaped his grueling elevator purgatory, Enson had at last arrived at his destination. Still dazed from the muzak horrors he had endured he took a moment to look around himself, wondering if all his stool carrying would accomplish would be another piece of detritus for the pile of junk. With a brief shrug of resignation he strode over to the door, making a valiant effort to ignore the screeching din coming from within. Steeling himself and tucking one of the stool halves under his arm, he raised a hand to the door and gave a gentle rap, saying something as his did. Unfortunately the noise drowned out the knock and whatever he was trying to say. A look of mild annoyance crossed his face and he knocked again, somewhat louder but still too softly to he heard. Stealing himself he drew his hand back and hammered on the door as loudly as he could. "Rachel!" he called at the top of his voice, "It's Enson! I need to speak with you!" While waiting for a response he turned to look behind him and finally noticed the others. "Oh!" he said, a look of surprise on his face, "Errr... Who are you?" (OOC: All seems correct!)
  21. Enson was not given to impatience, but he was beginning to feel a bit put out by things. After having gotten lost in the maintenance hallways he'd spent several hours blundering about trying to find an elevator, and when he finally did find one it had taken forever to arrive. And now it was taking forever to reach its destination - a remarkable feat for something that could only go up and down. As the elevator muzak slowly drove him mad, he settled into a leaning position against the wall and tried to block out the occult droning, hoping Rachel wouldn't mind him dropping in - literally - with another problem for her to solve.
  22. On thinking abut it, I've removed the Tandem Fighter and Verdant Knight classes from the google document as I didn't like either of them. On that note, @Waterbrick Down, perhaps it would be a good idea to have a non-editable link to the document in order to give people easy access to the latest versions?
  23. It's certainly preferable to ask in mission, as that allows all the players to involve themselves in the process and ask questions of their own. Remember, this is something you're expected to do as a group, going off and making plans by yourself beforehand amounts to shutting the other players out of decision-making. That's not really something people enjoy.
  24. Thank you for expressing interest! We put so much effort into this, so it's always nice to see we've piqued someone's interest.
